So this Channel regularly misses and does not report problems.
    1. There are problems with the automatic transmissions. The manual transmission will last longer.
    2. The electric door locks on driver and other doors regularly go out. It is $400 just for the part .
    3. Vtc actuator failure causing timing and oil problems. Can Cost $1500 repair. If not caught soon enough will destroy the engine where the vtc actator pulley will shatter then do internal damage, destroying engine.
    4. Need regular valve timing adhmjustment . But thats typical honda maintenance
    5. The rear hatch door and body leaks and has holes that will allow water in the frame and rot the whole rear frame. Regularly check if rust holes have opened along the rear hatch , along the frame , and under the carpet if is wet. And try seal it before is too late.
    6. The rear hatch handle and components fall apart.
    7. The seats are extremely uncomfortable. Try find foam pads and back support like for office desk chairs if you drive more than a hour.
    8. If water pump abd coolant is not is not maintained, changed intervals will have blown head gasket and worst case blown engine
    9. Bad piston rings if oil changes weren't done every 3-5k miles.
If people did 6-10k miles oil changes the car will burn oil have bad piston rings.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I’m going to pin your comment to the top so anyone watching this can research other potential issues. 👍
These videos are representative of my long term ownership experience with these cars, and I simply haven’t had many issues with the Fit. It’s kind of hard to make a video and show people a problem when it doesn’t exist on your car… 😅

Nice rundown on possible Fit problems. My brother had a Fit several years ago - i drove it on a long trip one time...and it's true: the seats are very uncomfortable when traveling long distances. I was thinking about buying a Fit but now i'm not sure - given all these potential issues. Perhaps i'll just keep driving my del Sol as it's been an excellent car.

The bulb was easy to change luckily. I had a 16 EX, traded it in at 42,000mi. The only thing that broke on me was the center console level. Very fun car to drive, just little low on power.

Similar experience with our 16 EX as well. Test drove a manual model and it was zippier than the CVT we ended up with - the auto really kills power delivery and response. What did you trade yours in for?

I’ve had the plastic under the engine belly pan fall off and replaced twice. It’s held on by plastic push pins and will let go in deep snow or scrape off in potholes or get knocked off with road debris. Each time I secured it temporarily with wire and zip ties.

That’s a good one to note as well! The dealer said they see this fairly often. Surprised that Honda didn’t go with a more robust attachment mechanism!

Be careful with oil changes, sometimes they don’t secure it properly.

The white paint we have is problematic too:

Overall though, a great car and very reliable. 👍

The rear axle bending in issue #4 seems pretty serious too tho, ngl
