Thanks for watching!
Great video, very happy to be apart of this trip
Thanks for coming along! Love the story behind your 2.8 24v. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Rarest... and also slowest.... Unintended burn 🔥. Love the rare diesel and that its still on the road
Completely unintentional, but I know they'd be the first to agree with the description! 😆
amazing not childish.
Impressed with the footage and all the edits!! It really works well when multiple attendees contribute clips from smartphones and GoPro etc
It's amazing the footage that was provided by other folk in the cars. It creates perspective from other drivers, which is really engaging.
Fantastic!! 😎 Great to see so many Mk2's (plus interlopers) stretching their legs out in sunny Kent.
Yes, whilst we're technically a Mk2 Golf group, we appreciate any Retro VW and they're of course welcome to attend. The roads are so good in that part of the world and makes for a great trip out.
Awesome video. And a great day out
It was such a good day, and thanks to you for coming and contributing in the way you did. Glad you enjoyed the video too!
Great video mate keep up the content 👍
Thank you very much. Really glad you enjoy what you see from us.
Such a great watch! I know how much effort you and the team put into the cruises and then creating the music and videos. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Keep them coming!
It is our pleasure!
It's a big undertaking, but the end result is so worthwhile. Especially when we have someone as good on vocals as what we had. 👀
Makes me want to get my mk1 golf gti and corrado g60 out the garage.been tucked away for many years. Great video.
Do it! 😅 If you're inspired to do so from the video, that means a lot, so thank you!
Great videos (have been catching up). Nice you guys allow other retro VWs join. Will join your FB group. 'm on the north essex/south cambs/herts borders.
Welcome aboard! Thank you for joining.
Yes we welcome any Retro VW to our cruises and events, we're not picky and it takes dedication to keep these cars going, so it's appreciated from us to want to be part of what we do.
Watching this just makes me want to buy another mk2😊 I've previously owned 2 8valves and a 16v also a mk3 and a mk5 gti and ive now owned my mk7 golf r for 6 years, love my dubs but so want another mk2 😊
Thanks!
Always worthwhile keeping your ear to the ground amd seeing if one comes up at the right time and right price. Prices are all over the place right now, so you could potentially find a bargain.
@@golfmk2 would love to own a Rallye, that was always my grail golf but they are few and far between and are ridiculously expensive 😖
They are. I do love a Rallye, but it's very hard to justify that price tag when you consider what else you could buy for that sort of money. Not particularly quick by modern standards (or even Mk2 Golf standards) and there's not any actual rally heritage. They do look great though!
@@golfmk2 They do go for silly money that's for sure, another grail would be the edition one g60 in aubergine, beautiful car 😊
@Adriantiachi oh now you're talking! Such a great colour, too, is the deep burgundy pearl.
Lovely seeing them! Especially the diesel, as i just bought myself a great yellow coloured 1.6 td golf2. I love it, even after needing to have the camshaft restored. 🎉
Wow a yellow one! Was that an original colour, or perhaps an old company vehicle? The diesel is great though. Quite tunable too, if you fancy a bit more poke!
No, it was white from factory and the previous owner resprayed it yellow. Looks stunning in my opinion haha.
That's great! I like bright coloured cars, so a yellow Mk2 is a win for me. What are the plans for it in the future, aside from the camshaft restoration?
@@golfmk2 Well it is in pretty good shape from the outside, i bought many things for the inside and those are about to be changed. Besides that, i only get it out when the weather is good and just enjoy driving it. It is indeed so bright it stands out from every other car in the neighbourhood. I can send pictures if you are interested in seeing it. :)
Please do! Feel free to join our Facebook group (Link in description of the channel) or m.facebook.com/groups/371878416967677/?ref=share and share some pics on there. Folk would love to see that.
Great video. Very much enjoyed it and the music - I wonder who the vocalist is, hee hee. Good to see Jenson enjoying himself.
Thank you for the kind words. Makes the effort worthwhile. I shall also pass on the compliments to the musicians, both the producer and vocalist. And yep, Jenson loved it and turns out is a bit of a natural infront of the camera, far more so than I! 😅
Brilliant video. Looks like you had fun. Loved Jenson at the end ❤
It was a lot of fun and Jenson certainly enjoyed being around all the Retro cars too. Got to teach them young!
Brilliant video thanks for sharing it with us
Must get my gti back on the road
Thanks for the inspiration
Thank you for the kind words. If it helps get one Mk2 back on the road then it's a success!
Stunning scenery, cracking club you guys have. Wish we had something similar for group drives up in Scotland 🙂 cant beat the sound of a VR.... need to get my mk3 back on rd 2024 🤦♂️😁
You definitely have the scenery up in Scotland. Maybe do something similar, get a small group and do a planned drive together :-)
I would absolutely love to do a drive across the west coast of Scotland or around the lochs, with the mountains looming in the background.
South East (of Scotland) Mk2 Golfs, anyone? 😅
Fantastic watch guys shame we missed it all with breakdown but gd to see it and the fact Hattie at the end big shout out to all who organised the day....
Thank you. I just love your commitment to still make it to the end even after the driveshaft issue. That's just pure willpower.
Brilliant, keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks, will do! 😁
W❤W! That’s Incredibly Awesome! Have a lovely week! Cheers!🥂❤️✨
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. And the same to you too!
Looks like an awesome day out, and what a great video to document it. Hope to see you about some more Ali.....keep it up
Thank you very much for the kind words. It really was a great day out and the meet at the end was the icing on the cake. We shall endeavour to do more events!
My favourite drive video so far!! When's the next one? 😅
Thanks very much! We're already planning the next one, so keep an eye out on the Facebook group to find out when it will be!
ours is 2.0 8v :)
Is it an AGG or a 2E? Looks like it's from a MK3 GTI
Apologies! I should have known by how quick it is!

I bought a 1.3 Golf Tour with 71000 km only. Are these cars getting rare? Thinking of rust removal
Pretty much any Special Edition Mk2 Golf is rare now. We didn't get the Tour in the UK, so I'd be interested to know what differences it has to a standard 1.3.
@@golfmk2 The Tour was a special edition available in 5 metallic colours:
Diamond Silver
Metallic Red LA3Z
Helios Blue
Atlas Grey
Cosmos Blue
The car had colour coded mirrors, and some text also says part painted bumpers although the brochure clearly shows it hasn't. Also states colour coded mirrors were not included on Atlas Grey or Helios Blue but I find that an odd thing to believe - surely it would be all or none?
As with all of the 'specials' there was an decal on the rear quarters panels, this lead into full length pinstripes just above the swaige line.
The car was in luxury spec, similar to GL model.
Available in 3 and 5 door
Interior equipment:
Specific upholstery in blue / red fabric on a light gray background
Height-adjustable headrests
Plush carpet
Passenger side vanity mirror
"Imitation" leather gearshift gaiter and gear knob
Plush carpeted parcel shelf and side shelves
Sport steering wheel (is listed but from the brochure image I'm not sure, did they consider this 'sporty'?)
Analog clock (digital LCD for 90hp, with rev counter),
Center console with ashtray and cigar lighter
Front door storage pockets
Height-adjustable driver seats
So that’s the Golf Tour
I just bought a 1.3l golf 2 with 69500 km only
Tour edition, from 88
69500km is hardly anything! That must feel like a new car still.
I don't think we got the Tour in the UK. What sort of spec and trim does it have?
@@golfmk2 any social platform I can send you some pics of the car? I’d love to share them.
