- A few weeks ago, seven-year-old Emouree Johnson, of Scottsboro, Alabama, started her business - a lemonade stand - to raise money to pay for a headstone for her mother, Karli, who died unexpectedly at the age of 29. From that terrible tragedy, Emouree has found an entire community coming to her aid - taking that lemon life handed her and squeezing out hope. Steve Hartman reports.

Who else is crying?
Not crying, bawling.
I have to be at work in less than an hour and my eyes are all red from this story
Absolutely bawling 😭
Me too! Happy but sad at the same time! Bless her!
I’m a 39 year old man and I’m in no way ashamed to admit that I cried while watching this.
To this baby girl in case she chooses to read the comments:
I'm so sorry, honey. I lost my momma when I was 14, nearly 15. She still doesn't have a headstone and I'm nearly 40 now. Way to raise that money, honey!
You'll always miss her and want her with you, but it does indeed get a bit easier to handle over the years.
Cherish the family you've got left. They'll always be there for you. Never forget that.
It's going to be okay, I promise you.
❤❤❤
My dad is gone due to a heart attack! He’s always call me Baby Girl; now I’ll never hear from him again! 💔
Life is short live fully my friend 🙌🏼
I love how people helped this little girl honor the memory of her mother.
My mother was born in Scottsboro. I lost her in May, 2022. She meant the world to me. This story really hit home. Good Job, kid👍
I lost my daddy in May 2020. He passed away from a heart attack! I miss him so much! 💔
Steve Hartman always makes me cry
Children can teach us so much.✌️❤️☀️
Now that’s my America! 💕
That’s how I wish we all would act like more. Deep down, we are a good country.
@@bobsiyt6548we, the people, are good and kind. The control freaks in charge are the ones trying to ruin our great country.
Beautiful Young Lady & That's awesome for the community to help her and the headstone place to donate.
Shout out to the monument for donating the stone!
Brave little girl. Way to go with your lemonade stand, Emery. Your mom would be proud
❤❤
She did what most kids fail
My ♥ is broken for this little girl, but I am singing for joy.... knowing that there are folks out there who really & truly care!!!
I can’t believe she lose her mother ☹️
@@seanpetaia I agree. So very sad!
Oh my God 😢😢😢. Thank God for kindness of people and the company that helped. My goodness. Probably give her my whole paycheck if I have been there. I pray she and her grandmother get through this stronger ❤🙏🏻 my sincerest condolences.
That's soon sweet...I couldn't imagine loosing my mother at her age
❤❤❤ I lived in Scottsboro from birth (1974) through 3rd grade. I was so sad when we had to move! Alabama is my home forever !
Danone it, you made this grandma cry! I wish nothing but the best for Emery.

No matter everything, forget the circumstances. This is awesome for this little girl
I do believe this amazing community would do more to make sure she will not be away from the school.
Makes me cry!
The amazing support from people who's hearts goes after Emily just something very important to know about this country.
Crying!!! Hope! So proud of Alabama with this story! 💕💕💕
That's awesome. Good for her.
What a lovely story. And what a tragedy that we need to rely on donations rather than ask why anyone would ever need to do this? We are so okay with those who are in need.
Crying. Fantastic story and very well
Told. Well done on all aspects
Awwww… 🥲 What a beautiful girl ♥️🙏🏽
Inspiring story! God bless
Proud of you, Emouree!
Beautiful child
What a heart-warming story!
God bless this baby and her family!
Warms my heart, blessings to the family

May God bless you and keep you, Emourie!!!

God bless you sweet little angel.
It will always take a village... o matter what OR who...
If you have kids, please carry term life insurance. Good luck to this family. I hope your lives flourish.

😢❤🎉
Yes, we can do better. There's evidence all around, if we just stop and look.
Who's cutting onions?
This one really got to me. She’s such a sweet, smart little girl. I’m guessing her mother died from a drug overdose - they glossed over that part - regardless, she doesn’t deserve such pain that early in life. Her mother just died in March - I am glad as humans, we aren’t always horrible.
💚💚💚
Are you trying to make me cry?
Well it's working.
I also bought my mother's and grandfather's headstones no one knows except me know were that they lie in peace
💛💙🙏🌹🌹
❤❤❤❤
Well PRAISE JESUS..THAT is The LOVE of GOD, In ACTION, Folks!!!!! Lord JESUS Please comfort this Sweet Child and CARRY Her for the Rest of her Life!! xooxoxoxo
Emouree, May God bless you and keep you and your family as you remember your mother. To the haters: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. - Jesus of Nazareth.
❤🍋❤🍋❤🍋❤🍋❤
Where was her father?
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
So
Thanks Democrats.
Alabama is apart of the republican state
A disgusting story about capitalism... Nothing positive here.
Steve Hartman you MUST KNOW THAT YOUR SALARY IS PAID FROM THE COMMERCIALS MADE BY THE MULTIMILLION DOLLAR CORPORATIONS THROUGHOUT YOUR PROGRAM.IS THAT A GREAT THING? Not!😝
It must be great if you are watching
For this young child, this response is perfectly fine and it is great that no money was spent on a headstone. For the rest of us adults, though, this is a commentary on how out of sync our priorities are as well as how far we still need to go in learning better ways to deal with death. Spending huge sums of money on funerals and cemeteries and gravestones makes no sense to say nothing of the horrific nightmare of brainwashing kids with the idea of gods and heavens which didn't come up in this story but is likely lurking in the background. Keeping permanent physical graveyards needs to be outgrown for something better for the long term health of the planet and of humanity.
