This is quite a personal video, and actually the first really personal story video that we posted. I wasn't sure whether we should really post this, worrying that it's either too personal or that nobody cares. So, if you like, do let us know what you think about a video like this. Thank you so much for your support and opinion! ❤
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! ❤ I'm very glad to hear that you and your family made it through difficult times and still managed to keep your relationship alive and well. I wish I could have done the same, but things were a little too serious for that, unfortunately. I didn't, and I don't think I will, go into more detail with this on RUclips, but let's just say it was the best way for me at least. This doesn't mean that there are no moment when I wish there was another way. Thank you so much for your support! ❤
What an absorbing and emotional story. Neither of you has had an easy life. It must be difficult for Thanh to find himself in a different Country with a different language and culture. Hopefully, Eti, now that you are beginning to get your own life into a more ordered and peaceful manner, you will be able to find the strength to help Thanh through what must be a difficult period for him. The fact that you love each other will provide a strong foundation to help you both in this journey. When times get tough, remember that there is truth in the old adage that 'love conquers everything'. Good luck to both of you.
Thank you so much for your supportive comment! ❤️ Yes, Germany is in many ways a completely new chapter for both of us, and especially Thanh has so much to adapt to now. I will, of course, support him as much as I can and hope that he can be happy here with me. I know it's hard for him, though, and I'm still kind of unhappy that we had to do this, even if there are also many positive sides to this. Thank you so much for your support! ❤️
I admire that your husband was willing to go with you in such a major life change...moving countries is NOT easy! You're a fortunate man, only few can attain onto what you both have now, and I can tell you, it won't take you long to find what you're looking for.
You're right, it was very brave of him to jst come with me to an entirely new country, even a new continent. His home is so far away, yet he's willing to do this. Thank you for your nice comment! ❤️
No longer running… as in feeling more settled, whether it be physically, mentally, and emotionally. Great story, and good luck to you and your partner. And good to find yourself landing on solid ground while in your 30s.
Eti, It is difficult to ride the line between being a content creator online and keeping the truly important pieces of yourself private. There are those who will always want more of you and Thanh, but you need not appease them. This self-biographic video was more than enough. Thank you for sharing your story with us ❤.
Thank you so much! It's true, there's always this thin line between sharing just what is right to connect and make it comprehensible and then maybe oversharing a bit. While I think it might be sometimes too much or too little naturally, walking this path is also enjoyable in a way. I'm glad this video received so many great comments (like yours), even if it will probably not get many views (it wasn't made for that anyway).
You can't choose your family but you can choose your friends. So when you can manage to distance yourself from 'toxic' family members, that is the point where you can find your own family and other important people around you,who support you ,no matter what.I think that we see in your videos that you found what you were longing for.加油
I admit I am way behind keeping up with your videos, but this newest one popped up in my feed today and I'm glad that I stuck it through to the end. First, thank you for letting us in on such a private aspect of your life. Second, I just want to give you a big hug for staying strong and rising above all that life has thrown at you and having turned out such a well-grounded person you are now! Your nanny must have been a very special and positive influence in your life as a child. The couple who took you in in your early 20s must have also touched your life in very positive ways. I love stories like this! I'm happy for you! :) Some parts I can relate as someone who also had not so great relationship with his father and someone who lived much of his life as a stranger in the foreign land. and yet again I am a stranger in Germany! lol I only know you through your videos but there's something very genuine about you which is why I'm your subscriber. I always was curious about how you ended up in Vietnam and now I got my answer, too. So, thank you, again. I get to know you more and I like that! :) I am happy to hear that you feel very positive about being back in Germany. I sincerely hope that this truly is the beginning of a new chapter in your (both of you, of course!) life! That short pop up of Thanh lying in bed watching his favorite shows was cute and funny, by the way. haha and I like this set up of you walking in the nature as you speak. I like a long walk in the green myself and it is getting very nice to be outside this time of year in Germany! Wish you the very best and yes to making more videos as much as you feel comfortable. I hope to invite you to Berlin one day. Cheers!!
Hi Whitney, and thanks for your great comment! ❤️ Thank you! I'm glad you liked this personal video! And aww, thanks for the hug! ❤️ Yes, my nanny was a very kind person, and I would say she taught me many of the "good" things in life and how to be kind to others. The couple that took me in for a few years also had a significant influence on me, and they basically enabled me to go and study and "make something out of myself" (don't really like this saying, but you get the idea). Thank you! I'm so glad that the honest approach that Thanh and I have resonates with you and others! The cute pop-up of Thanh was his idea, and I now also think it's super cute 😀 Yeah, maybe I'll do more walk videos like that if there's something story-like to tell (and if people want to see that). Thank you so much for your support, and yes, we'd be thrilled to meet you in Berlin one day! ❤️❤️❤️
I loved your personal story and the journey you have been on. You and Thanh have been on such a journey over the last year or so and what I really like is your honesty and you say it how it really is. Family and life can be so toxic at times but it's so good to see that you have a good life now. Keep going with the ups and downs. ❤️
Thank you so much, Julie! ❤ We really appreciate comments like yours, seeing that our open and honest approach is valued in such a way. It's such a nice feeling to get this kind of support! ❤
Happy for you Eti it feels like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders for sharing this vulnerable part of your past thats been a part of you are as a person. ❤️
O, dear! Your story is unique in many ways. And even you think that your degree is not useful, I believe that's what leads you to understanding and finding yourself in such complex world. I wish you to find out what exactly do you want for yourself. It's not easy, but you state of mind and education(sic!) definitely will help you. Patience and determination are your best friends. But you are lucky man because you have the love of your life by your side. It's a treasure! I was 45 when started a new life. With the same questions who I am, what I am, and what do I want for myself. I an 67 now and I am still not sure that I have the right answers. But sometimes a process is more important and interesting than a result. Love you, boys!
Thank you so much for this great comment! I think you're right, I'm indeed very lucky, especially when it comes to finding Thanh! Patience and determination sound both like great advisors in whatever comes in the future. Your comment is very inspiring! Thank you so much! Much love to you! ❤️
You have a lot of special achievements: you speak three languages, you completed Masters in Vietnamese, you survived in a foreign country, and much much more! Try to love yourself as much as you love Thanh! Love you both!
A real voyage of self-discovery, Eti. Thanks for being so open on the challenging periods of your earlier years. Happy to know that you are both now established in Germany. I would be interested to learn how Thanh is managing the change in environment and I guess to some extent, culture, and what both of you are doing for work or filling your days. All the best. D xx
Indeed, and it's still going on... Thank you for this nice comment! ❤ I just spoke to Thanh, and I think we'll soon make a video about how he has been doing/feeling the past three months.
Wow!!

Hi from Ireland! Your video remind me my walks in Hochstetten, on the right field, on the left forest. Germany will forever be my favourite country, always in my heart. I wish you all the best!
That running towards things setting looks like Joe Wright’s Pride & Prejudice when Darcy proposed to Lizzy. So pretty place. Btw, I love watching your video since I’m from 🇮🇩 and my fiancee is from 🇺🇸 and I need to move since my country is homophobic and kind of scary. I hope you gays have a good life there ❤
I hope u got settled well and this video means alot for someone who is struggling in the same way somehow, its so thoughtful of you for sharing your side of story. Be happy both of you..❤ Dont leave each other ever cause you both have made a lot of sacrifices for each other u deserve to be together stay happy and married together..⭐✌️

Wow, Eti, i felt so much emotion listening to you tell your story. I actually could relate to parts of it with the parent dilemma, and as you descibed the running, i did a lot of that too. Never was able to describe it before now thanks to your story. Thank you for that. I love watching your relationship with Thanh and hope this is truly and finally adding real happiness in your life. I can see real love between the two of you. After everything, you deserve happiness for a change. I hope that now that you both are a bit settled, you can get on with just luving, veing happy and finally enjoying life. I don't have more questions because you already shared enough deeply personal stuff here about yourself. And I am already soaking up some things that hit me hard and caused me to tear some. This might be a great book to write, give that a thought. I look forward to your next video.
Thank you so much for this nice comment! ❤ I'm glad you can relate to my story, but I hope I didn't cause you to go through any emotional trauma. Hm, yeah, maybe I should consider the book. Somebody else already mentioned that a long time ago...
Thank you so much for sharing your story. ❤ So glad to hear that you are no longer running. I have no doubt that your life story resonates with many people, providing them encouragement and comfort. I wish more people in the world would understand that we humans aren't that different from one another. We each have our stories and most of us want to live happy, fulfilling lives. Often we suffer because of the actions of others, even family. But, it teaches us resilience if we can recognize and accept them as lessons instead of acting out and blaming others. Clearly, you are of the former mind, calming sharing your story and life journey so far. I wish you and Thanh much personal happiness as well as YT channel growth! I really enjoy your vids and look forward to learning more about you both in the future! Lol, thanks for letting me live vicariously through you guys! I'm a happily single female, but still love love ... awww, shucks!
Such good words! I wish others would also see us as being more similar than we sometimes want to see. ❤️ Thank you so much for your kind words and your support! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your life story❤.These are the stories that we generally cant share with anyone as because we generally dont get the right person who can understand us and our feelings.❤ I hope you also have felt some peace after gushing out all these life time stories.Lots of love from me❤ and congratulation for being able to make it all upto this❤
Thanks for sharing Eti ❤️ Yes, this should be the end of that lifetime and now you must set yourself free, next to your lovely husband, for your new beginning !!! I can see you are already ‘on your way’, just keep loving each other and enjoying life… Thanh, embrace your new country, adjust and learn as quick as you can their language and you will find your place. Much love from here…
First of all, thank you for sharing a little piece of your life... you are brave and your good heart was not lost despite the people who did not know how to take care of you... you deserve all the good things you now have because it is your effort... enjoy every minute..you have a beautiful life and also us are with you ...🥰😘

I am so touched to hear about your story over so many challenges in your life n glad that you both are settled down in Germany. Sending lots of love from Adelaide, well done Minh
I really enjoyed hearing your personal story, but I am sorry that you had some difficult times. It says a lot about you that you transcended all that, and it’s wonderful that you have a positive attitude and are building a life with Thanh. I’m also amazed by your English!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed watching this. And thanks for the comment about my English (despite several obvious mistakes here and there). Dein Deutsch ist aber auch richtig gut! ❤
Your story seems amazingly like my own. I also had a lot of problems with my father especially but there were some with my mother. I also ran away from home when I was in my teens and tried to kill myself a few times because I could not accept that I was Bisexual. It took me a long time to get to the stage where I am and I am grateful that before my parents died we were able to be more accepting of each other.
Thank you for a great video about your lifes story up till now. I really feel strongly for some reason for you and Thanh as a couple and the love you have for each other. Maybe because I wish I could find love like that too. When you share your love with us subscribers (with me) I can use the feeling your videos gives me, to make myself filled with happyness and emotions because of your love. And all the love I have locked up inside my heart for someone that wants it in the future (I hope) gets out from my heart and lives a little when I watch your videos and get emotional. Im rambling, sorry for long message. Love from Sweden ❤
Aww, thank you so much, Gustav! This is a very sweet comment, and we're both happy to receive so much love from people like you!
Muchas gracias! ❤️ I'm glad you like this video, especially since I really wasn't sure if I should put this out or not. I'm sorry to hear about your story, and of course, I can relate to it. I hope you're doing fine now, though. Yeah, I'm already 37, unbelievable huh? 😆 I honestly sometimes forget this...
There's a long answer to this question (maybe in a video?), but the short version is: My faculty offered the exchange semester, I really wanted to go abroad, and I just took the chance 😀 I just spoke to Thanh, and I think we'll shoot a video about how he's been doing/feeling in the past three months.
I kinda see his life story. Growing up in a complicated family for entire life. Mother, father and sister. It's also something got to do with money situation too. But all those two guys Eti and Thanh are making life in Germany now and maybe for the first time to feel the connection with somebody elso who is really so close. Is it the destiny of human being ? Anyway like I said I have had a life really similar life to the guy. But for the record I really appreciate everything my mother who might be called grand mother. After all who is happy now ? That is the ultimate answer I guess.
It's interesting that there are so many similarities. And yeah, money was an issue for me too. I actually had my first job at 14 (which wasn't even legal) because my dad didn't have much to give. I hope you're happy now! ❤
Really love your story, curious about what's the process you guys moving to Germany and getting married, did Thanh get a visiting visa or marriage visa, thank you for sharing, love you
Thank you! ❤️ I think Thanh and I will do a Q&A soon, and we could answer this more in-depth then. But in short: Yes, Thanh had a visiting visa (so a Schengen tourist visa) for Germany when we got married in Denmark.

To be honest, while we might (softly) prank each other in parts of our videos, I don't really see us making the typical BL prank videos that you know from other couples here on RUclips (nor will we do OF, btw). This is particularly true for those videos in which they prank each other on tough emotional stuff (e.g. regarding cheating, ex-lovers, and other rather harsh topics). Thanh and I want to show us here to help others, raise awareness, and contribute to making this world a little more LGBTQ-friendly. We don't think we can do this with the rather brutal pranks that some other couples do to create attention. We hope that, even without these heavy pranks, you still like to be our fan. If not, that's OK too, of course. Much love to you! ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your story!!🥰 honestly i love watching your guys videos and shorts because honestly they bring both a smile to my face and comfort to my heart because in a different yet similar in a way. So after all the darkness in your life you saw the rainbow 🌈 and the sunshine at the end of the tunnel. I hope Thanh is doing well and adjusting to life. Is there a video about how you both met if not you should do a video 💜💜💜
I believe that your dad must be confused about who he is as well .... unfortunately he didn't have resouces to figure out what he wants and who he is in his life ...he just needed to make a living with a baby .....anyway you have grown up mentally mature person after so much struggling.....happy for you

Well, of course I had English in school. But I'd say, one of the bigger jumps in my proficiency came from playing a video game I loved so much as a young teen that I really wanted to understand it. I ended up playing the game with a dictionary on my lap, translating everything that was said in the game until I got it. It took several playthroughs to understand the game, but I think this showed me that if I care, I can learn stuff. From then on, it got much better.
@@etivathanh When all the Syrian immigrants started heading to Europe followed by African immigrants. Several countries implemented courses to teach the local culture of equality. Is it that kind of course or is it closer to a citizenship type of course?
@@JimFeig Ah now I got it. I think it's quite similar to these types of courses, though not exactly the same. It seems to be tied to Thanh's level of German, and the form that the immigration department filled out had three different levels (with Thanh being in the middle). The course has its advantages, as Thanh will get level B1 in German; however, it also costs around 1,600-1,700 EUR and it sort of blocks Thanh from doing many other things, of course, since it's happing at least in part-time (so like 20 hours per week), or even full-time.
@@etivathanh May I ask what those courses are called? I thought only refugees are taking integration courses (which is free of charge since it is offered by the government?). Here I am being lazy and barely finished A1 (although in reality I might be closer to A2 or B1) and never heard about language & culture combination courses.
@@MrWhitney4e Interesting... your comment triggered me now to email the immigration department to clarify this. In the written order, it's just called "Integrationskurs" and refers to § 44a Abs. 1 Satz 1 Nr. 1b of the AufenthG (immigration law). This talks about "ausreichende Sprachkenntnisse" (so sufficient language skills), but this isn't explained further. I think the best is to wait for an answer from the department. I wish I could give you a better answer now. Here's the law text, by the way: www.gesetze-im-internet.de/aufenthg_2004/__44a.html

What an absorbing and emotional story. Neither of you has had an easy life. It must be difficult for Thanh to find himself in a different Country with a different language and culture.
So true! Much love to you! ❤
Indeed, surrounding with those people whose loved and kind, toxic environment will be damaged everything you have in your own life
Your story made me think of the old Quaker hymn "Simple Gifts."
Enjoy the life you and Thanh are creating together.❤
Interesting, thank you so much! ❤
It was so inspiring to hear your story. I am so happy finding out you found a home in your husband who accepts you and love you a lot.
Thank you so much!
Some parts I can relate as someone who also had not so great relationship with his father and someone who lived much of his life as a stranger in the foreign land. and yet again I am a stranger in Germany! lol
I only know you through your videos but there's something very genuine about you which is why I'm your subscriber. I always was curious about how you ended up in Vietnam and now I got my answer, too. So, thank you, again. I get to know you more and I like that! :)
I am happy to hear that you feel very positive about being back in Germany. I sincerely hope that this truly is the beginning of a new chapter in your (both of you, of course!) life!
That short pop up of Thanh lying in bed watching his favorite shows was cute and funny, by the way. haha
and I like this set up of you walking in the nature as you speak.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked this personal video! And aww, thanks for the hug! ❤️
Yes, my nanny was a very kind person, and I would say she taught me many of the "good" things in life and how to be kind to others. The couple that took me in for a few years also had a significant influence on me, and they basically enabled me to go and study and "make something out of myself" (don't really like this saying, but you get the idea).
Thank you! I'm so glad that the honest approach that Thanh and I have resonates with you and others!
The cute pop-up of Thanh was his idea, and I now also think it's super cute 😀
Yeah, maybe I'll do more walk videos like that if there's something story-like to tell (and if people want to see that).
Thank you so much for this nice comment! ❤
@@bednayalisa Aww, thank you so much! I'll try to do that! ❤❤❤

I just spoke to Thanh, and I think we'll soon make a video about how he has been doing/feeling the past three months.

I'm glad you can relate to my story, but I hope I didn't cause you to go through any emotional trauma.

I really enjoyed hearing your personal story, but I am sorry that you had some difficult times. It says a lot about you that you transcended all that, and it’s wonderful that you have a positive attitude and are building a life with Thanh. I’m also amazed by your English!

Your story sounds indeed very similar, and is very touching for me (because of the similarity, I guess). Hope, you're doing well! ❤️

What made you decide on Vietnam specifically?

There's a long answer to this question (maybe in a video?), but the short version is: My faculty offered the exchange semester, I really wanted to go abroad, and I just took the chance 😀

Lots of love and support to you guys from India🇮🇳

I think Thanh and I will do a Q&A soon, and we could answer this more in-depth then. But in short: Yes, Thanh had a visiting visa (so a Schengen tourist visa) for Germany when we got married in Denmark.

@@rogelynvillarama7467 Oh wow, now I understand. 20+ years is impressive, though! Good that you stayed, ultimately.
Thanks alot for your story ❤❤❤❤❤❤, but can you start making prank videos, just for us your fan
Everybody makes prank videos. This video is really special and much more interesting.

Decent men ❤️ daily vlog please
Thank you! We'll try to think about how we can do that (with a 9-to-5 job, I mean, which means most of the day isn't that interesting to watch).
@@etivathanh thanks 😊❤️❤️ Try uploading two videos a week. 😊😊😊 thanks ❤️🙏
@@SSVlog-vr6kv I'd love to do that! I think to be able to do that, we have to come up with a quick production workflow. I'll look into that, though.
@@etivathanh ❤️❤️❤️
Howhave you learned english?
Well, of course I had English in school. But I'd say, one of the bigger jumps in my proficiency came from playing a video game I loved so much as a young teen that I really wanted to understand it. I ended up playing the game with a dictionary on my lap, translating everything that was said in the game until I got it. It took several playthroughs to understand the game, but I think this showed me that if I care, I can learn stuff. From then on, it got much better.
Hi eti and tank

What does that mean?
Those courses because of the increased immigration.
Not sure I understand,. What do you mean?
