The walk out of Santiago is really beautiful & even in peak season relatively quiet. Really enjoying watching this Rob.

Of the three approaches I've done into Santiago, the one coming back from the coast (so the opposite of what you did here) is I think the most beautiful. And the first view of the cathedral the best too as it emerges from the beyond the forest canopy as the only buildings you see. It's magical.

The other two being the Invierno (2nd best), and the Frances (distant 3rd)

I was walking this stage three days ago (I reached Finistera today). I already miss it! As you approach the bridge in Ponte Maceira (where you saw the weir) there is a small path to the right which leads down to a quiet part of the river where you can go for a paddle.

Must look out for that next time! It's a wonderful route isn't it? 🙂

@@robscamino it really is! I loved every second of it, as well as the Inglés before it (in spite of some brutal weather!). I am back in Santiago de Compostela now (as a tourist rather than a pilgim) and I already miss the weird and wonderful parallel universe which is the camino so much. While I am writing, a big thank you for your videos - they were a great help in preparing.

Rob so glad I caught your notice. In 23 I walked to Finisterra from Santiago. I would like to go back and walk to Musial then to Finisterra. When did you do this walk ? 👍😇🇺🇸

Nice walk thru the woods once out of SdC. At @10:45, was that the sound of the wind thru the leaves of the trees or nearby rushing water or both?

Either, but I buy them online well before hand in case the train is full.
