Thanks for the video. Gave me a laugh looking at how black that fluid was! Got me thinking that mine must be even worse my 36 is from 92!

This is the best explanation and demonstration EVER! JUST by the hoses and flow direction explained it makes others explaination a heep of spaghetti mess. Kiss ruled applied. Yippee! Lol. But thanks. Your very good at explanations.

Uhm, a metal piece came though the reservoir hose. i used "Castrol ATF. DEX II" and my car sounds pretty bad, even when not turning. Did i used the wrong fluid?
The metal piece seems to be a restrictor, where should i put it?

    • @Francoupe

The sound may be air bubbles in the system, as i just flush the system, filled the reservoir to level and did nothing else. But i don't want to risk damaging my hydraulic pump until y know if it's safe turning the wheels without puting the metal piece in place first :/

Yep. The sound was just air in the system.
And the metal piece was originally in the middle of the hose that goes to reservoir, holded by a small clamp.
I bought some Dex III ATF just to be sure, put back the piece pushing it until it got locked by the middle clamp and connected both ends to the system. Filled it with new fluid, and turned the wheels a couple times until the level stopped going down.
Then I started the car, turned the wheels three or four times just to be sure and voilà there was no pump noise and the hydraulic system works like a charm.
I'm simply leaving this series of comments here to help someone who may have the same situation happen to them.
      Cheers!

This is still confusing. What metal piece, where? @@ffkidjr

I did my CRV the same way you did the power flush, but from the beginning and right away just let all that old fluid out. Repeat that a few times and you're good. This is still a good way too : )

Why not just empty the reservoir from above by suctioning the fluid out. In that way its less messy. Youre not doing anything more anyway coz your not draining from the lowest point. 🤔
