This is an incredible resource. I would love to see a video compilation of these exercise suggestions or a follow along video for owners to refer to while working with their dog with DM!

Thanks for posting this in depth information. I have an appointment for my dog Pepe to see a neurologist in two weeks - the soonest they could get us in - because my vet thinks Pepe may have DM but wants to rule out a pinched nerve or slipped disc. So in the meantime I am looking into the care we might have ahead, and am committed to put my primary daily focus on providing Pepe with the best possible care. I can be at home with him every day! His DNA tests 100% American Pit Bull.

Thank you for all this wonderful information I have a dog that has tested positive for both jeans of the sod 1 Gene meaning she could develop DM. She's only 3 years old however I am acting as if she has DM and looking at every thing that I can do exercise and nutrition wise to prevent the onset as early on as possible even though she may still develop it it'll at least get me in the habit of doing these things to make her quality of life better if she does develop DM
