    This was helpful. It is difficult to find information presented straightforward and clearly on these less common topics.

    A simple and cheap DNA check from a cheek swab will give you the results, to determine the genetic presence in your dog. My Boxer is DM ' At Risk', and the onset came at 10 yrs of age. Seven yrs ago she was bred, once, to a DM CLEAR male, and her offspring are carriers, and will not get DM. It can be bred out. Responsible breeders care.

    My 8 year old German shepherd has DM---he was diagnosed 21 months ago. He uses a wheel chair with ease, but without it he cannot stand up, and can only sit for 1/2 minute. He is completely incontinent, which I have learned to manage. I have tried everything I've heard of (chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathics, nutritional changes, massage, T-touch, etc. etc.), except laser. There is no one who can do laser within at least 250 miles of where I live. We still walk several miles a day, and I believe that has helped more than anything else I have tried. My vet was the one who recommended a veterinary chiropractor, said that she that laser does NOT work for DM but that it might possibly help if the cause of paralysis is some other spinal problem or injury.

    How does a person find a vet that will actually do this procedure? I found a vet that was certified and had the laser. I drove over two hours to take my dog for treatment not to have the vet tell me he wouldn’t use it for my dog and gave me Rimadyl!!! He also said he had loaned his laser to someone and could not even try it. I cannot find any other vets anywhere that offer this procedure so what good is it? I got my hopes up and it’s cruel to do this to someone who is desperately seeking help for their beloved dog.

    Why did not my vet not know any of this? Just had to put my dog down over this they did not treat anything. Even bringing him back and forth for a year.

      Because it’s BS just like subluxation theory of chiro in human medicine. Genetics causes this, not subluxation. Sorry about your dog.

    Who can do "adjustments"? Chiropractor?

      Any VOM trained person can do this. VOM training is available to all online at: vomtech.com/online-courses
      Chiropractors do this with veterinary affiliation to charge for these services, as can anyone else can with veterinary affiliation.

    why are you giving people who's dogs have DM false hope. Once the dog has DM the nerves do not regenerate. The myelin sheath once damaged by DM does not reginerate.

    OBAMACARE? You're throwing politics onto you channel?

    • @dr.williaminman2847
      @dr.williaminman2847  3 года назад

      Yes, the practitioners who treat your pets have been annihilated by socialized medicine that they provide for their staff. Your veterinary bill reflects an extra 15% because of it and that staff medical insurance care is essentially worthless.
      In veterinary medicine we have strived to be pet insurance free for decades to keep costs down.
      Obamacare is not about care but it is about insurance.
      If you haven’t noticed, everything these days is politics....sad but true.

      @@dr.williaminman2847 what is "socialized medicine" specifically in the veterinary industry?. I know people on Obamacare that are grateful to have some kind of insurance to cover their big expenses. Seems most of Obamacare people go to Kaiser which has alrady been in place for yeasrs. I don't see what the main argument against it is.. People are still able to get insurance outside of Obamacare.

      @@carlbernngl sounds like he’s telling you he raises his prices on services (15%) so he isn’t reducing his income to cover (all or part) of expenses for his employees.
