I joined at 16 in October 77. My dad and stepmother forced me to join up, as my stepmother didn't want baggage from my dads first marriage in her house. I made the long journey from Scotland to London, then another train from Paddington. I'd never been further than Glasgow . Exmouth 42 class.
I often consider join the army in the past but never went through with it. Was to many other things I wanted to do when I was still thinking of signing on. Hearing some of this I probably wouldn't have made it in.
