Hello sir , I'm an RN/RM applicant . Now I have got an email from my CPO from royal Navy giving me the form . But I'm from commonwealth (India) and I don't recide in UK . So please tell me whether I will be selected if i move in further in the process ?? Patiently waiting for your response .
World Insider I don’t think that you will be selected because you must be a uk resident for at least 5 years.
Valeriy Lukanov I believe you can still join as a commonwealth citizen into the RN.
According to their website you dont need to have lived in UK for 5 years however, you should be living in the UK when you apply.

That requirement has now been lifted for Commonwealth citizens, however I'd say it's still very much recommended to live in the UK when you apply!

@@liamscott1905 You're not mate. Why not join the Irish Navy? Serve your own people?. Especially part of the EU post Brexit?. Also, if you are going to join a foreign force, look at the French Foreign Legion or being Irish, keep with tradition and become a Wild Geese with the Spanish Foreign Legion. Commando regiment.
