My cousin left school near Newcastle in 1978, he had considered the shipyards, but these were closing down, so he applied to be an Engine Room Artificer in the Navy as he had CSEs in technical subjects and maths. Joined when he was 17, stayed in for 13 years( wife wanted him to leave as often happens), and had enough experience and qualifications to work in engineering in the North Sea. However, he said the Navy was far more interesting as he got to visit the Caribbean, America, Hong Kong and Australia and made friends for life,
Can’t wait to serve her majesty the Queen! I’m An American seeking to join, working at attaining my Uk citizenship. Hope to make lifelong friends and make a difference helping people 🙂❤️
@@LucaTheDevilCat I could but England 🏴 has always been apart of my family. My father is an Irishman, as am I. I feel the United States and England are great allies. I feel more of the connection to England is all. Want to do something different. Help make a difference.
Hi there, it's unrelated to the video, however, I was just wondering if it's possible to have videos looking more into the Warfare Specialist branches. I've read the PDF, but I was wondering if there would be any more in-depth information that would be available for the public outside of training. For example, the day to day life of someone who say is in the Underwater Warfare branch; and what the training is like for that specified branch, if possible. Thank you for the other videos, they're super helpful and interesting.
Hi there, thanks for the request! We do have a video about life as a Warfare Specialist in the Submarine Service here: ruclips.net/video/VTzrITHzVxc/видео.html it's only one example of a day in the life, and in the Royal Navy no two roles or experiences are the same, but hope that helps a bit. If you've not been on our website yet we have more details about the role here: www.royalnavy.mod.uk/careers/roles-and-specialisations/services/surface-fleet/warfare-specialist
Both offer great opportunities to travel, the army in my opinion, would staying still a lot and in one place where as the navy you get to travel a lot. Just up to you really and what you want to do.
@@CallumThomas104 Basically what Callum said, research say 3 jobs from both the Army and Navy, that you'd like to do, weigh the pros and cons, speak to a careers advisor with the armed forces, look heavily into army corps / regiments you'd wish to join as well. There's so much more but just research everything about the role you're wanting to do before you make a decision, and like I said before, speak to a career's advisor, but at the end of the day it's your choice what you want to do.
Well done Amelia - greetings from Verwood. Your nan and grandad told me to watch this . They are very proud of you. Brilliant story, good to hear how supportive the Navy are in supporting and mentoring you all

Going to join up after my a levels but I hope there’s enough space with these army troop cuts
That's the army, the RN currently has a major shortage of staff due to the new aircraft carriers and other vessels being built.
Would love to join but in the past I took inhalers for wrongly diagnosed asthma.
You can join if your 4 years without using an inhaler
Well done love, enjoy your chosen career🥰🥰🥰
Awesome
Beautiful girl! Life in the Navy should not be easy, a lot of dedication, soon you will notice this beautiful sailor!
She left the navy after two years because the lay was so low, she now works at Waitrose and earns double what she did in the Royal Navy.
The lay?

Great advertising, does the Royal Navy still accept men?
Psychometric stopped me.
No offence but what’s the point of an army. People say they protect us but I don’t see anything changing in Syria yeman Afghanistan. just saying.
