      This is what you will see when a cop gets shot at or shot in general. If it were a civilian getting shot you would be lucky to even get one to respond in an adequate time.

      Life Talk - Upper Midwest Bullshit I spend every day working in the hood in Chicago. Any call of shots fired even just an unconfirmed random 911 caller saying they "heard some shots outside" whatsoever and there's 10-15 of them FLYING up and down every street and alley in the neighborhood within 3 minutes max. They'll spend the next half hour at least searching up and down the area.

    • @RKSNomad
      @RKSNomad 6 лет назад +9

      I can confirm blackhawks comment. white or black you're not spared questions. I work utility in all parts of chicago and its suburbs, every time i hear shots fired, i get out of there. not for my safety, but to avoid the flurry of cops that will swarm me, not because they think im the suspect, but because they think i'll provide better info than 90% of the people on that block. Then i deal with even more problems because i conceal while on the job and one of them, usually the supervisor wants to confiscate my firearm. I have a TEAM of lawyers specifically for firearm and self defense related events in chicago.
      chicago is not the place you want to work utility or public work. I was told that when concealing, 10% of people will brandish a firearm, and only 5% of that will ever fire it. I've had to brandish nearly 10 times in the last 5 years working south side. thankfully haven't had to shoot. most of the junkies just walk away. YES literally turn around and walk away like they never saw me.

      @@chpalmer2007 agree, mics in RT aren't designed for distortion created by mixed of excessive voice volume, pitch and non optimal distance from piece. I spent years trying to train my officers control in adrenaline situations but real situations of intensity always created these scenarios, extremely difficult for a comms officer to extract and act upon info rapidly and effectively.

    Excellent response to a fellow officers being shot. Nice to see the boys in blue taking care of their own. With that said, the radio traffic was horrific. I understand emotions and stress is high but when your yelling and screaming into the radio, it makes understanding information difficult. And, their radio system sounds like garbage adding to the difficulty of understanding transmissions.
    I hope both officers were able to make a complete recovery. As for the suspect, I hope he was caught and brought to justice.
    God bless our men and women in blue. They place themselves in harms way without hesitation to protect us everyday.

So Chicago Police department is the size of the entire Metropolitan Police, City of London Police and probably BTP combined. Different levels and US population is 328 million compared too UK 67 million. Been to North America 3 times so far and you need a vehicle too get around just too shop. Their vehicles is their mobile office and armoury! In the UK you officers that patrol on foot like SNT teams.

      Chicago would be better off if they got rid of all the corrupt Democrat politicians and their tough gun laws that way law-abiding Chicagoans can defend themselves.That and they need the resources to clear more of the shooting/homicide cases.I listen to CPD on occasion and I live across the river from Detroit.The trouble seems to be concentrated more on the south and the west side.I would visit Chicago though.It's a dream of mine to see a ball game at Wrigley.

    Does anyone think this is a bit fishy? I believe that the police are being forced to believe they are against the people. And the people are against the police. This is a renforcement, of kind.
    I don't want to upset or disrespect either side. But when you are brought up being taught to act a certain way. You become further away from the reality of difference.

      @@joko3382 Yeah everyone wants to get back to their families. However everyone isn't putting their life in danger everyday to get people off the streets who want nothing more than to hurt and kill all those regular civilians who want to get home. In my town Cincinnati Ohio. We had 2 people murdered and my sister had 4 guys with guns rush her house with guns. That's under 24 hours. Both murders happened within 5 blocks of my house. All of the cops that responded to those calls. Came not knowing if the risk was gone. They came to help regular civilians.

      As a former police officer (15 years) I can assure you that officers respond to all emergency calls as fast as they safely can. The adrenaline rush is phenomenal.
      Are officers scared to death of the dreaded "Officer Down" call? You bet your ass they are.
      They work with the same officers day in and day out. Most are friends, not simply coworkers.
