  • I consider this one of my best flies for trout fishing. One of my favorite flies is the Blowtorch, the Jig fly version works well on tight line nymphing, you can get deep with this fly while minimizing the chances of snagging the bottom. The Tungsten bead makes it heavy on its own but if you want to, you can definitely add more weight by wrapping lead free wire on the hook shank. The soft hackle provides movement that mimics legs, while the yarn and fluorescent orange thread acts has hotspots. See the recipe below.

    Egg Yarn - amzn.to/3yDylte
    Slotted Tungsten Bead - amzn.to/3zLP7rv
    Pheasant Tail Fibers - amzn.to/3t0JyCG
    Fluorescent Orange Thread - amzn.to/3h0BblU
    Filming Gear:
    Main Camera - amzn.to/2XiRAex
    Head Strap - amzn.to/3lStcKO
Point and Shoot Camera - amzn.to/3iEmk1W

I really appreciate the skills you have. Who knows maybe I'll get into fly fishing someday. Nice filming. Really clear and good job.

Thank you very much. I'd recommend you get into fly fishing too. It's my favorite type of fishing. But then I like all types of fishing😅. Are you going to target some Salmon this year?

@@BryanWentFishing I think so. I wouldn't mind some advice though on the type of gear and bait. Never done it. I plan to use my spinning rod.

Btw. Just caught some largemouth and perch in the rouge river just below milne dam. Small ones but never caught them in the rouge before.

Nice you should go for Salmon. As for tips, I wrote an article on my blog, here's the link www.bryanwentfishing.com/2021/07/LakeOntarioSalmonFishing.html Feel free to message me there and let me know if you have questions.

Yeah the Rouge is nice for Bass. I've seen some nice size bass swimming around while on hikes. Never thought it would have perch there tho. Now I wonder what else could be there.

    This is nice, Bryan!
I tied some white death last season and it's productive for the steelheads!
not sure about nymphs, tied some typical ones like prince nymphs, phasent tails, zebra midges, etc, for any if them, that I would always get some luck in the upper credit for the small trout lol!

Thank you sir 🙂. Small fish are still fun! haha And Yes! White Deaths are productive, the last one in my fly box got destroyed by a massive Chinook! I'm about to tie some this weekend. What did you use for your white death's body that wraps the hook shank?
