Holy moly this is the most valuable video I have seen for knot tying. I am 69 years old and my hands aren’t what they used to be. THANK YOU
Really glad it helps. Thank you very much.
Me to , that is so helpful for me and my failing eyes..👀
Hope it helps you catch more fish. Let me know how you like it when you try it.
@@BryanWentFishing we’re having unseasonably warm weather here in Ohio. I am working the election polls Tuesday and then off to fishing. My son in law wants to get out and chase some steelheads. Thanks
Nice sounds like fun. Hope you land one. I've yet to land a steelhead this season. They keep breaking me off 😅
I've been trying knots with forceps for 30 to 40 years now. They have held up great. You really don't need another knot. Good video
Thank you very much. Yeah I agree, I noticed they're holding up better than my hand tied ones.
Love it! Whenever I want to change flies it usually takes me five minutes to take a seat on the bank and lots of fumbling around to do it properly. Thank you old hands and bad eyes! Most of the time I couldn’t be bothered! This method is potentially a game changer for me. Will try it next time
Awesome, glad it helps. Let me know how it goes for you when you try it and how you like it :)
Best tip I've seen in a long time. I have tremors and really struggle. Sometimes it a 20 minute job to tie on a fly. This looks like it would help a great deal. THANX.
Glad it helps you out ☺️. Thank you very much.
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to post this!
You're welcome. Hope it helps you catch more fish! Thank you for dropping by.
I’ve used my forceps in a pinch for nail knots as well. Tight lines and thanks for the great tip😎
You've read my mind for a follow up video Steve 😊. Tight lines and thanks for dropping by.
Nice little technique, definetley going into my bag of tricks.
Awesome, it's a nice addition for sure.
🥰 Mate your a superstar, I love fishing and now I'm getting on a bit this is going to make tying knots at the bank a breeze.🤩 Keep up with the great work 😍
Thank you 😊 Glad it helps. Hope it helps you catch more.
thank you! its getting harder to see the line these days. this will help tremendously.
I forgot to mention it helps with that issue too 😆. Thanks! I totally agree, especially on low light conditions.
Nice knot. My hands aren't like they used to be ,and cold weather takes its toll when I try to tie knots. A definitely good tip. Thank you. God Bless n Fish on!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you 🙂
Ha, that's an interesting way to do a clinch knot! When you first said forceps I expected you were going to do a Davy knot, there's a super fast way to do that one with forceps.
Great suggestion! I've never tried the Davy knot on a fly to be honest. Is that your go to knot?
@@BryanWentFishing No I generally use a clinch as well, but I've been trying to expand my repertoire with different knots.
Awesome. My cold fingers thank you!
You're welcome and Thank you too.
Been using this method for about twos…works better than my fat fingers! Hahaha!
Lol. Never thought of it that way but that does make a lot of sense.
Bingo! so simple!
Thank you very much!
Love it.
Thanks 😊
This is an amazing knot bryan. Nice video and tight lines as always!
Thanks bud. Hope it helps you out. Tightlines.
Thanks for sharing very useful
You're welcome, glad it was helpful.
Great tip
Thanks
Brilliant!!!
Thank you😊
Thats the way I've been doing it for awhile probably learned it on RUclips. Works great
It definitely works great. Do you use it on bigger hook sizes too?
Thats pretty slick!
Right? That's exactly what I thought the first time I saw it 😂.
Genius
Thanks Steve 🙂
Wow!
Thanks!
Great idea. Thanks.
You're welcome, hope it helps.
nice job
Thank you 😊
It s keep going... nice
Thank you 😊
Great idea- BUT DO NOT use an ordinary blood knot with fluro carbon as it will eventualy slip! Put the end back through the top loop and make a TUCKED blood knot. ALWAYS wet it before pulling it tight to stop the line burning it's self.
Valid point! Thanks for the reminder 🙂
Two improvements to knot.
1. Lick it! Lick the knot this lubricates it. This is important as there is a lot of friction and heat produced when the knot tightens which can make know brittle. When you lock it it will tighten easier as well and you can use the traditional 8 twists instead of five.
2. Get a combo Forceps/scissors called a scissor forceps. Then you are switching between a forceps and a nipper. And you can ditch the nipper and retractor thing. Less is more when Fly fishing. You can also pull on the hook with the forceps to tighten the know instead of putting down.
Love tip number 2! I tighten the knot by pulling the hook most of the time. Thanks for the input!
Anyone who went to medical school can do this with their eyes closed. Good job!
Cool! I learned something new today. Thank you very much.
Is there a way to use this method to tie and improved clinch knot?
I believe it should work. Let me know if you want to see it on a video.
Works for improved chinch knot and a loop knot also. Tight lines.
Yes I'd like to see it for the improved clinch!!!! Thank you! @@BryanWentFishing
Will do, thanks.
Always lubricate your knots! Don't do it like this if you want the strongest knot with minimal effort.
I did mention to lubricate it at the end of the video. Thanks for reminding others. 🙂
Brilliant. I myself 75. Eyes getting weaker. Plus fingers not helping. This method given me inspiration. I was struggling. Not any more. Thanks millions 🦘🦘🇦🇺
Glad it's helpful ☺️. Hope it keeps you fishing.
