Hi Motoman. Great review! Just took delivery of the 2019 Cayenne S and was really considering the e -Hybrid but the delay was just going to be to long for me to wait! I ordered my car on Jan 3rd and took delivery middle of June but would still be waiting for the Hybrid as of this review!! Gotta tell you I really love the S and am completely happy in every respect and there's nothing I don't love about the car truly! Rear wheel steering and air suspension are a must at least in my opinion and the Burmester 3D sound system is truly stunning to hear and listen to!! You hear details in music you never really heard before plus it's in a car. I think 434 hp is plenty and honestly wouldn't like bothering to plug this thing in all the time anyway and love the crackles and overrun from the twin turbo V6 although you don't need to plug in the hybrid if you don't want! Anyway great review as always love the channel!
    Cheers.

Congrats! I also went for the S (after a year with the base Cayenne 2019) with full options incl. Burmester ;) Expecting mine by the end of the year 2019.

    Hello Motoman,
I enjoy watching your videos. And I just watched your episode on the Cayenne ehybrid and one of the issues that you didn’t address (I think it’s the elephant in the room) is whether it is prudent to purchase a Porsche ehybrid when Porsche is so close to releasing the Taycan and has clearly indicated that electrification is going to find its way into the 911 and the rest of the Porsche models.
I just purchased (I don't lease) a 2019 Panamera 4, but before I decided to go with the pure ICE version I took a seriouse look at the 4ehybrid version. I wanted to move away from vehicles that purely run on dinosaur juice. And the performance of the Panamera 4 ehybrid over the regular Panamera 4 is impressive. After the $6,712 Federal tax credit available on the 4 ehybrid, the price differential between it and the non-ehybrid is not that much different. But at the end of the day I concluded that the non-ehybrid was the safer choice for the following reasons:
    1) I was not confident that Porsche would continue to produce and support the 4 ehybrid after the Taycan and other electric models arrive.
    2) If Porsche does continue to build the 4ehybrid, won’t future iterations of it reflect the technical advances made in battery technology and make my 2019 4ehybrid with its 26ish miles of pure electric range look lame in comparison?
    3) 5-8 years from now when I go to sell my 4ehybrid, why would a buyer want it over a 5-7 year old Taycan?
    4) What will it cost to replace the high output battery in the 4ehybrid after the battery warranty expires? $5,000? $10,000? $15,000? $20,000? I believe that the battery warranty is earlier of 8 yrs or 100,000 miles. That’s a lot of gelt to plow into a used car.
At the end of the day, I concluded that there would always be a used car buyer that wants a pure ICE engine and the depreciation hit would be in line with past experience. I was far less confident that there would be a used car buyer that wants a 5-8 year old ehybrid with a 5-8 year old battery and technology when there are then (presumably) so many better ehybrid and pure electric options (at least not without me taking a huge hit on the resale value).
    Your thoughts?

Ive got a 2016 SE. MUCH prefer the look of the 20 inch rims compared to 21 or 22 inch ones. The fact that tire replacement is half the cost with the smaller rims doesn't even entire into it, but doesn't hurt.

1:44 That must be an error. Both have the same towing capacity of 3500 kg listed on the German Porsche website.

I like those wheels - a bit more low key than the bigger ones.

I had this thing a couple of times as a loaner and did not like it. Mechanic told us no one likes it. The cut off of the engine when you stop is very annoying.

Love the review, but didn’t the Cayenne S E-Hybrid you reviewed in 2017 have two propulsion systems, or was there a difference so that didn’t qualify? It was a great review and I remember it well as I was considering one of those. Love this review too, and your channel. Undoubtedly one of the best.

It would be interesting to compare the weight of a fully option loaded Cayenne Hybrid to the most basic version without anything on the option list, and how the difference influences performance. Years ago some purists would have opted for the lightest possible 911s with only simple steel suspension and no gimmicks whatsoever, not even leather seats. In the spirit of Lotus founder Colin Chapman who said "power only makes you faster in a straight line, less weight makes you faster everywhere".

Excellent review as always. But I have to ask myself. Why? Just why? Why would I want all that complexity and cost to save a couple miles per gallon on an expensive vehicle? Seems counterintuitive.

if any exec from Porsche reads this... well truly understand this for once and for all...stop charging us for basic options, like a 7kv charger!. I'm done buying your cars new, because you seem to take great pride in ripping the fucking consumer off. My dealer rang me this week, first time ever, so youre not selling cars in Australia, especially since you dumped the diesel from your range. Like the US of A, we travel vast distances and while I'd love a feel good hybrid, it's too expensive to run in our nanny state speeds. i love the brand, its history, I have two Porsches but Im so sick of the option prices and the contempt you treat us. In my case you have bitten the hand that feeds you

I like Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid but it's very costly ( $79,900 basic price with $30,000 options ) too much....!
    I prefer BMW xDrive40i 4dr ($58,900) with full options (around $18,000).
    Nice content .... Thank you.
