Very clever dub over the "Cayman S" slip at 3:40! Love your videos though! Always full of extra trivia and entertainment factors on top of the vehicle details.
7716 pounds towing is simply the conversion from 3500 kg (and hey, you gotta believe Porsche is engineering to a metric standard, eh?). Oh, and great review as always. Thanks! :)
I think that a true Porsche purist understands that Porsche has always been about providing the best technology and efficiency that they can and that they would accept any vehicle from Porsche that provides that.
Hi Tom, greeting from Croatia. Another great review buddy and love your style how you present the cars. Very expensive SUV but my choice soon. One question, can you or someone who owns this vehicle recommended what extra options to include. Thanks buddy keep great job.
The average American commutes 16 miles to work so as long as they had a place at work to charge their Cayenne e-Hybrid they should be able to get by with just electric power alone. Unless you’re looking for a lot of power like the Turbo offers then a Cayenne e-Hybrid should be a great vehicle.
Great video as always Tom, you make a compelling argument for the plug-in, perhaps one day. In the near future my heart is set on that new Caddy CT5 Sport - can't wait to see you review that baby!!!!! Also big ups on that 100k - you should hit it soon.
I love going back and watching your old reviews. Tom what are your thoughts on this e-hybrid now? Prices for mint used ones have come down into the low 40s. Wondering if this would be a good backup family car? We have Electric SUV as our main vehicle but thinking a nice PHEV could be great for short town runs and for long family hauls to Canada. As a previous PHEV owner would you buy one of these from a used market?
PHEVs work great for many folks. Like any used vehicle, get it checked out thoroughly. Porsche can be expensive to maintain. I still have 2 PHEVs, put my EV purchase on hold for a few months.
Hi Tom. The Cayenne Hybrid was the one I initially wanted but the wait was going to be to long so I went for the Cayenne S instead! Not that I'm unhappy mind you :) But when did Porsche say they will be releasing the cars for sale? I'm hearing October now. Another great review and truly love you style and the way you present the cars!! Keep all the wonderful reviews coming! Can't wait to see the new Tycan review!! Cheers.
I have watched both Porsche Cayenne hybrid and Lincoln Aviator Hybrid that you have previewed. Can you share what you think the driving dynamics on both vehicles are most different, also there seems to be some transmission issues with the aviator that I have heard. Your comments would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance, Roger Karstofsky
Your Dads Name, My name, and my dads middle Name. I use to think when I was a kid I was the only one with this name. Great presentation of this Porsche SUV and I subscribed and liked each video since you started here on RUclips.
Hey Drive Car Review I have a few questions. I love this porsche but out of my price range.. :( what other plug in hybrids that are fun to drive and have good styling?? And what about reliability issues? Are plug in hybrids reliably??
There are lots of plug-ins, MINI, Volvo, BMW, Toyota, Kia, and Hyundai make them to name a few. Sorry but I don't have the time to go into it at depth. I do like the way my wife's Volt handles though. There are probably still some on dealer lots. And reliability is hard to predict but I've not had a single issue with my 4 year old ELR.
OMG! Tom, would you be willing to send my wife an email recommending that we forget about the kid's college fund for awhile and purchase this car? Just let me know. As for the scenic roads around Eugene, OR I'd second that recommendation. And here's another suggestion. Use google to check out sites and books that detail the best MOTORCYCLE roads in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Those roads are identical to what you'll experience in your car. It's a driver's paradise here.
The older, first gen prices are the same as used XC90 T8. The Volvo has almost the same power but obviously the 3-row won't handle like a Porsche. Got another year looking used and new plug-in SUVs.
Porsche rep: "And actually one of the cool things that PDCC does outside of improving cornering capability, is to consistently increase service business at our franchised dealerships. With our complex motorized sway bar we've seen a jump in very expensive repairs and that's really helped us meet our forecasts for our Genuine Porsche Parts business."
20 something (22-27) miles of all electric range just doesn't cut it. I know you're an electric enthusiast, but common, this is mediocre range at best.
For some it works, for others it doesn't. Like I said over 6,000 miles a year and that's just one charge a day. Nothing to sneeze at. And besides, the electrification adds to the power.
And if you drive 22 miles a day in a Tesla Model X (like a friend of mine often does) you're hauling around an expensive heavy battery for nothing. Just saying...
Ok, I'll say it , whenever you decide to charge for these videos, you'll have at least one paying customer. -at the risk of being blasted- Still awaiting Lotus Elise, before it no longer is made...

Great video! Would love to see your take on the Porsche Macan 2019-2020.
98,511 and counting. You're almost there!!
How long does it take to regenerate the charge from the gas engine

I am a big fan of your videos!!! Great job!!
Nice touch wearing Nikes in Eugene!
Ok. After driving an MDX Sport Hybrid, I think I want this Cayenne!
I always wear Nikes. Always.

Nor should you be unhappy...
Thanks Tom, great review and excellent video production. I have to trade-in both my cars to get this one; maybe worth it!
Tom, do you know if this car has Rear Cross Traffic Alert? I like the car a lot, but can't find any info on that. Thanks! Great review!!!

Great review as always. I would love your take on the BMW 530e.
great as always Tom thank you! id like to have your opinion on the Audi Q3 2016 models or newer...
Tom, it does sound like a lot of work, but you get to eviscerate those caravans!!

Very well done review ..best fishes from France
Love France! And fishes!
I really like the look of the new Cayenne, it is like Porshe have kept at it a now are hitting home runs with most of their current range.
Thx for such a great and beneficial review 👌🏻

Great review. I'm waiting on the VW ID3. But thinking I should go the Hybrid route.
Good to see Luke V still in the auto industry! He used to be on Autoguide.
Luke is a good man and excellent resource. And his last name starts with V. I like that.

Is the 8-sp auto a traditional automatic or Porsche’s PDK twin-clutch?
Automatic, for better towing capacity. The Panamera E-Hybrid gets the PDK.

ARE YOU GOING TO DO THE LINCOLN AVIATOR
Yes.
Almost at 100k subscribers!
dude! hook me up with the location at 5:10, holy moly!
same, its stunning!
McKenzie Hiway, OR 242 between Eugene and Sisters Oregon. That’s lava on either side of the road.
@@tommihelich2613 Thanks for that Tom, didn't see that post.
Happy to help out Tom
Love it
Please review the new 2020 toyota land cruiser.....🙏🙏🙏
Excellent review as always Tom. Thanks. Now to decide which bank to rob to afford this Porsche... 😯😉💰💰
If I had the money, I would buy one of these. I would rather have this than a GLE or X5 for sure.
Hybrid? Next!
3:48 once you cut to that interior, the first thing I said was "wow, that looks cozy!"
Is it as cozy as it looks, Tom?
Define cozy. Comfortable or snug?
Great review and fully deserving of being bestowed with a formal 👍🏻 from me...
You’re welcome 😝
Can I order it without the green brakes?
Yes. Surface Coated brakes come with white calipers, ceramics get yellow, hybrids get the acid green (though I think there's black as an option).
I assume “powerful-o-graphic” is a technical term? 😉
Power flow graphic?
Dual fuel > rubber baby buggy bumpers.
3500-Kgs towing
Love your reviews. This car is crazy overpriced. Here’s hoping in a year or two there’s a solid Lexus or Genesis alternative at 2/3rds the price.

6hrs to get 22 miles and then you inefficiently haul the batteries weight around with you after. Terrible.
Terrible? Compared to Volvo XC90 T8?

Yeah, sorry that's probably not happening, though it would be loads of fun. Good thing you haven't paid!
annoying music while you speak.
I get a Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk, destroy this girly German and save money and look better too.
Until it comes time to fuel up!
