It will be pricey you would need something that can handle like 60v and 100 amps, you could use breakers but it would be like $60 a breaker if you could find any that can handle 60V. Honestly its not worth it you can get new controllers for $60 a piece, and the bms will handle the battery shorting.

Hi Pirate. I just received the Boyueda scooter today, i used your coupon code at Banggood, thanks a lot for it! I tried to buy the rear shock absorber and the charging ports but there is no product at g2a at all! Is there any site where these things are available? Thanks
The charging port is a GX aviation connector, most likely a GX12 or GX16, that's why it has the threading on the outside. I think you are confusing them with XLR (Which would actually be a *better* choice as the XLR connectors are rated for 15 Amps while the GX connectors are only rated for 5 Amps).
@@PirateWasHere XLR usually uses the female socket on the scooter side, so the exposed pins are on the charger plug which is less risky. I would probably use a 2-pin SAE connector, the panel mount socket is waterproof and has a dust cover, and while there is technically a small risk of shorting the charger because the positive pin is exposed (not an issue if the casing isn't grounded, and there is a cap for the plugyou can use), there is basically no risk doing so on the scooter itself.

Hey Pirate, I know you like your XT30's for chargeports, but have you considered drilling out the hole and stepping up to an XT90 or QS8, you could run external batteries much easier ;) (Just a thought for your shop, one of the most common harnesses I've had to make is a parallel discharge and charge output that can be shared to an external battery and the internal controllers too)
I woudn't risk adding extra battery, there is no safe space for some decent capacity, it's high voltage battery so things can go bad instantly , even due to minor crash.
@@PirateWasHere Ive found attaching batteries above the folding mech on the riders side of the forks to work quite well, even in crashes, the suspension protects the battery and a thin alloy mounting plate does the rest. I've done quite a few Wolf Warriors, Boyedas, even the cheaper Chinese scooters with simple suspension. All of these scooters ended up with a duplicate of the in deck battery attached to them. I dont really think that a 60v 35ah samsung battery is a small deal at all considering most of the people doing these mods end up using a vesc of some sort to pull all of the current possible. Cmon man, 60v isnt high voltage, 120v maybe and even then.
Do what you like, just don't share this idea too much, at voltage above 50V 100a++ coppers wires melting ( sticking together ) instantly even due to tiny short. simple people who don't know that, Can loose a little bit more than xt90 connector. Any idea of having extra battery pack on steering stem is just %$@$%^ ( from the pov of person who got experience ) , it's unsafe to have it there big heavy battery pack & scoot is Uber unstable because of it . This just my pov, but I would never mod this way scoot for any of my customer, usually I propose extend deck length ( pricy but safe & scoot is bit more stable ).
@@PirateWasHere I highly doubt someone with a simple mind will make it very far when trying to go this route themselves without learning everything they need to in the first place. I will admit, things can get hot, but that being said, who's shoving 100v100a down a 12awg cable, thats just silly, nothing I do is smaller 8AWG for wires and I tend to rebuild batteries to handle whatever is necessary. Keep in mind too though, that these batteries in parallel, are not really pulling much more than they would be standard, given a single battery setup in a boyeda see 90a as it is, adding a second only reduces the current each one has to supply in a stock config with parallel battery. Doubling the power (with say a vesc setup) however just keeps the system sipping away as if it was a stock unit as each abttery would only see a maximum of 100a (10a more than it was already seeing) I dont half build stuff, anything unable to handle 100a phase to a motor in this area of the scooter market is a joke, I haven't come across a single hub that cant take it in the 11" wheelspace. Having a battery on the steering assembly feels fine, given your folding system can handle it and you encase the battery appropriately, if you're using a cloth bag and straps, you're practically begging for a fire. If using an aluminium box thats actually going to be able to handle a hit then you might be using a bit of your noggin. I've got a 10X here that has had a dual battery setup for a very long time now, thats a single pole steering scooter, still havent got any issues and I've wrapped up more than 1k km with it as such. Like you said, extending the deck is too expensive and honestly unreasonable, you may aswell just buy the alloy and make a new box from scratch, it's just a rectangle with a few holes to mount up the front and rear ends of the scooter to and would cost about the same in the end. Or, you could distribute the weight more evenly across the whole scooter, batteries sitting infront of the shocks lead to a large imbalance, but on the inside with the rider and down as low as possible, tends to make banking hard on tight corners at high speeds much easier and gives the front end far better traction, I've found nearly every single high power/ hyper scooter I've ridden or modified is always incredibly rear heavy due to the rider stance and the amount of lithium and metal at the rear end, on launch the front wheel always shreds rubber on those scooters and this is easily fixed with a bit of lithium at the base of the steering assembly. You're an offroad rider too, whereas most of the people I know are on road speed demons, you're going to be dealing with a lot of things we don't at all like completely unpredictable paths, severe vibrations and plenty of tight obstacles where a lighter ride is an easier ride. For us its about weight distribution, traction and maximum power. TL;DR You're right, it's not something that you should offer if you're in the wake of liability, or if your clientele doesn't know how to use the product safely. But it is much, much better than using a GX-16 to do it like Dualtron officially does for their parallel systems. It does however sound like you need to have another stab at a dual battery setup on your boyeda, preferably with a solid enclosure and some reinforcement to the folding system. The 13" scooters from these chinese vendors has some serious reinforcement in their folding mechs and can be swapped out with the ones from the 11" variants just FYI.

Never cover cooling fins, bad idea.
@@rodrigojimenez3491 noooo, when you put thermal pads there it spreads the heat better. That way the controllers cool down.
Those are thermal pads... They transfer heat better so they stay cool...

@Roboleon hey did you figure out where to get it? Looking to get as well
Cool. One quick reccomandation: you could put the controllers facing each other on different sides (prefferably not the side that gets hot)
I’ve broken 5 rear suspension struts and replaced them with a (high tensile M 10 ,65 mm by 10 mm bolts )that fit perfectly and I replaced the top suspension positioning bolt that kept bending and snapping, with the same bolt they use on the lower positioning bolt them.

Hello, where can we buy thermal foam? Because I want to do like you for my scooter!
Why did you remove the the rubber pads under the scooter?
Hi Pirate i got a big issue with my scooter
I was watching your previous videos and I bought this specific scooter since you recommended it
The problem I’m having it with the chargers! As soon as i put both chargers the light turns red and after 10 min does a puff and never works again! Luckily I rushed to take of the other charger and i kinda charge it for two weeks almost every second day until this one gets broken again
I live in New York and probably is a voltage problem but the manufacturer send me two other chargers and they exploded again after only 5 min charging
Please help me out ! What should i do ?

How much difference would replacing the Laotie ES18 Lite's 52V25A controllers with 52V45A controllers make on speed and acceleration?
Great video pirate. I just have one question about the Boyueda, the lh-100 LCD. Does it disconnect from the 5 pins connection to replace a new one . Or does it the wire go all the way into the bottom deck to disconnect it. Many thanks
Cheers for the heads up.
What kind of connectors do you use or would recommend to connect the controller wires to the motor wires ?
I have same battery, but connectors they supplied (just some looped holes that have been screwed Together with cheap screws and nuts) way get so hot and burn the other wires and anything else they come in contact with .what would you advise to use instead?
Bullet connectors or What you have used as charging ports?
What's the meaning off cutting off the metal charger ports when you still using them after replacing it with the plastic versions ??

How the fuck did you remove the deck. The silicon is on there pretty hard
Good day. A week ago I got a new Laotie ES19 scooter. I have a little play in the steering wheel and a flat tire. I wonder what pressure is right for these rubbers. Where to buy new buyeda best price?
Hi Sir question, can I put on off switch from battery before connecting to controller? Thank you 😊
It will be pricey you would need something that can handle like 60v and 100 amps, you could use breakers but it would be like $60 a breaker if you could find any that can handle 60V. Honestly its not worth it you can get new controllers for $60 a piece, and the bms will handle the battery shorting.
There is Flipsky electronic switch , can handle up to 75V and 250A, good idea and I recommend it
HI, great channel, I have the Laotie ES19 with the OEM street tires,,,, I have spent much time getting it right, the only thing I cannot iron out is that at about 40mph the front tire starts to wobble and shake, I have tightened every nut and bolt on the frame and wheel hub, I even replaced the tube and reseated and re mounted the tire again, only to still have front tire wobble, I have not replaced the front tire yt, but I dont know at this point is its a tire issue or just a design problem with the es19 and higher speeds, any ideas? I wonder if it being 21700 vs 18650 you hold a better voltage? I think 18650s would because there are more of them per square inch
18650 is effect to 100% and have 50% scooter slover .21700 have power anytime
If the charging port is dangerous only in case of crash and contacts touch, is it ok if instead of changing port, I add a cap/cover which also has an insulation that goes between contacts as I put cap/cover on?
When a full review and test drive? @pirate
Can the minimum voltage be adjusted to prevent the battery from draining too much?
Yes but 51v is good

But when i tried to restart the beast for another ride 4 hours later, the system came on for a second then suddenly stopped for no reason, i wasn't even riding on it, may it be that i blown or flipped a fuse ? or is it another type of problem ? (ps: my scooter was fully charged with the two chargers, but unfortunately, i left it charging for a day or so, does that affected the problem ?) Thank you for your next response! you should not remove the two yellow rubber bumpers from under the front deck. It's here for when you fold the scooter so it does not damage the deck

Yo, so I could take out all the screws but the front part of the deck plate is not coming out. Likely due to strong adhesive? What is the best and safe way to remove the plate (and glue/sealant)? I'm worried that if I use too much brute force the plate will bend :D I tried using a hair dryer for heat but that isn't very effective.
Depends on adhesive if u cant unseal it with regular tools it probably requires up to 90° heat to do it

In Switzerland only Scooter with max speed of 20 km/h an 500 Watt are allowed so far. I see a lot of Xiaomi Scooters and i even own a pro version.
In my experience no one cares what you do with those little Scooters if you drive them normal.
The real problem is that if something happens you are not insured, or it gets a bit tricky ;)
You absolutely cannot drive a Scooter with 60-90 km/h on a road, you would be pulled over because its there job to do so and it is against the law.
I live in the country in a village with forests and hills and i bike and walk here with my Sleed Dogs for 30+ years now ( i'm 38)
That's the reason i did buy this off road Scooter, i really drive it Off road 95% of the time and do my Bike routes. You know put a Mavic drone in my backpack drive to a beautiful sunset and take some pictures.
I do all this with my normal bike, but sometimes you just have a headache or migraine or simply not enough daylight in the Wintertime to do all that stuff. I walk every day for 20+Years now with my Dogs 8-12 km with a elevation of 400 meters. After that i sometimes do my Biketour, but i can't do that all the time :D.

But still pins are not secured
@@PirateWasHere XLR usually uses the female socket on the scooter side, so the exposed pins are on the charger plug which is less risky.
I would probably use a 2-pin SAE connector, the panel mount socket is waterproof and has a dust cover, and while there is technically a small risk of shorting the charger because the positive pin is exposed (not an issue if the casing isn't grounded, and there is a cap for the plugyou can use), there is basically no risk doing so on the scooter itself.

The safest and easiest method for charging port is to add a fuse. If a short happens, the fuse will blow right away and open the circuit.

Could be battery or controller problem
@@PirateWasHere thanks mate
Doubling the power (with say a vesc setup) however just keeps the system sipping away as if it was a stock unit as each abttery would only see a maximum of 100a (10a more than it was already seeing)
I dont half build stuff, anything unable to handle 100a phase to a motor in this area of the scooter market is a joke, I haven't come across a single hub that cant take it in the 11" wheelspace.
And how to install turn signals in this scooter

Hey @Pirate, these charging ports which you changed are really used in aviation, and they are called aviation connectors, for example they are used in all Boeing and Airbus aircrafts :) Do you still think that these things are dangerous? They are screwed one to each other to secure the connection and I have never heard about the problem with them in the hangar :) I am leaving these on mine for sure :) By the way have you experienced any problems with your scooter?
Hmm
I think these are bad mostly because the pins are not solid and they can get bent quite easily
The problem is more likely that the pins are live with full battery voltage all the time. So if you short them - boom, the whole connector vaporizes.
