This is my van in the show. Won raddest ford, and best in show 2 years ago at this show.

This video takes me back. In 1977 if bought a GMC Vandura. Carpeted the floors walls and ceiling. I put in a bed a sink, an Ice box and storage cabinets, a round window and a long whip CB antenna. My girl friend and I drove across the country and weekend trips. Had a lot of fun with it back then. Thanks for sharing.
Vandura days. I had a '79 built 350, headers. Put a queen bed in the back & the mrs & I travelled the country non stop. Sleep while rollin.
I got my Vandura in 1974. My favorite vehicle.
Some of my fondest memories are of my 69 Chevy van, complete with shag carpet and 4 captains chairs. My girlfriend and I traveled all over Florida sleeping in the back and eating off a tiny grill. Good times!

Me too. As long as there are no mobile phones. Can you imagine the crap we would have gotten into if they had been around in the 70s. 🤣🤣

My Dad had a ford150 all decked out in the early 80's when I was in highschool, man that thing was the bomb for a teenage kid. Had so many good times in that van, some close friends still talk about the parties in the back of that!
One of the best parts of the 70's.......the custom vans. I was a teen, but too young to drive. Didn't have the money for such a thing anyway, but I sure loved to look!!
You and I are about the same age. I remember drooling over these machines! I was too young to drive, no money anyway, but I used to build the the model kits. Monogram, Revell, AMT. . . . I told my mom I was going to have a van like that when I grow up. She told me - by the time you are old enough, these vans will no longer be popular. She was right, and I have never obtained one. I still dream about it though!
@@johnarmenta2199 Well, I finally got a slightly customized 1977 Chevy van for a while. Chocolate brown color with the glitter in it, black bubble windows on the sides, and oversized tires. I loved that thing!!!!

I LOVE THESE VANS, I HAVEN'T SEEN THESE VANS SINCE I HAD MY 75 DODGE VAN. I ALSO HAD MINE CUSTOMIZED LIKE SOME OF THESE. 😊
Nice custom van show. I remember in the early to mid-seventies my uncle had a beautiful custom van and belonged to a van club called Boogie Brigade out of Modesto, California. Lots of fun hanging with them all in the day and watching their caravan of 15-20 vans going on trips together.
I live right across from a park in my hometown, and I can recall seeing many custom vans over there meeting up. Truly miss those days

I had a ‘63 Econoline. Bright Canary Yellow with black pinstripes, Cragar five spoke Mags. Leopard skin Dash and headliner front to back.
Had a 289 V8 shoehorned in between the seats. Headers and Thrush side pipes. That thing was great. I broke a lot of u-joints though.
I couldn’t afford to upgrade the driveline. Had a Cadillac Stereo, with a power antenna in the right rear corner. I had a lot of fun in that thing.
That was 1974.
Dad had a decked out ‘73 Tradesman with a 360. Dual fours, cam, hooker headers, and a high rise intake. It barely fit under the cover. Man, it would run.
Just wanted to say Thank You for not playing music all through your video like the others do. I just want to see the vans and hear what is going on like I was doing the walk through with a friend. Nice work.
I had a new 1975 Ford Econoline van. Customized it myself. Lots of fun! Drove it for 3 years then sold it and like everyone wish I had it back.
I love them all but my favorite are the vans with a bed in it..❤❤❤❤
I had a custom Dodge van that I travels cross country in and had a blast along with many offers to buy. Thanks for the memories.
My parents always had a cool van when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, I would love to get one of them old solid vans and do a nice build 👍
.. I grew up with those types of vans.. I vividly remember so many in the high school parking lot. At that time, we would go to TJ for paint and interior! Works of art really. Del Mar fair would always have a car show and many vans would be there for show.
Noneone these in UK. If I’m there I can spending my wholes weeks to just look at them. Amazinggggggg

@ 9:10 I want to see more vans like these. Just all out crazy designs. I've seen a pirate one a long time ago and they had cut out whiskey barrels for seats. And I got hooked wanting to more of these.

You got to love the vans I have to myself in Maine ..89 Dodge ram van pop up roof and in my lovely 1993 Chevy van high top.. very hard to find in the state of Maine will never get rid of them..

Just picked up a very original '78 Chevy Van, G20. Been looking for the right van for a while, a lot of the later models have come and gone and I know its basically the same through 1995, but I wanted a 1970s van. Its got the square headlights but I'm thinking the round headlights would look better on it. Very excited to get the Street Van build started!
wow, I am transported back to my high school years in the late 1970s in South Florida, the van crazy was huge there too. everybody either had a van or wanted one. these look great. man, I miss those mobile party dens.

Flashbacks a plenty here!
My rig was a 72 ford van, called the Squires Den. Medieval themed…I built the Sliding door into a full hydraulic rammed fold down door (drawbridge) that gave me a great 4ft porch for two lawn chairs and a small table. Behind in the central area was a porta pottie set into and behind a 12v fireplace. Was fun in Christmas runs when a small tree and stocking hung lol. Eye openers.
Using motorized curtain tracks I had a bar made into the ceiling to run from the back closet near the bed run to the front dog house with a six pack of cold cans, lol.
Great memories of Glen Ivy RV Resort where we sponsered a yearly Van In with hundreds of these great vans
My dad gave me one of his 84 Dodge vans when I left home . I was about 20 years old with three kids. a few years later it started giving me problems, stuff I had no idea about back then so I had to give it up because of my priorities. I'm 37 years old now and I'm an auto technician. I wish I still had that van.

I had a 74 Dodge B200 Red Van the I customized back in the day. The road trips, the parties the adventures and the Ladies. Yeah, I'm smiling years later. I also took it with me when I went to Penn State 82-85. So I'm adding Tailgating.
Loved the tri colored with the 3 windows and swivel chairs. Also the orange van.
Now I know where all the Cragars and slots have gone...awesome vans.

Plus I had A 78 Dodge Tradesman Maxi Convertion. And I traveled IN it alot lived IN HER back and forth across the U.S. for about a year😜😜😜

When I was 13 my dad bought my oldest brother a good times van it was a Ford but never forget the good times we had that thing I'm now 54 years old and I want one and I will get one

My favorites are the 72- I think 74 Ford Econoline & the up to 78 Dodge B-200 vans. I like the Chevys too,I'm not really brand particular. I drive a Jeep, a Chevy, and a Ford. I don't care. They all get me there, and they all have their own quirks.

I remember as a kid the guy next door would shake out his carpets from his dodge van next to my father's garden. Low and behold next to my dad tomatoes growin was you guessed it.
went to a couple vanstocks in the 70s i had a72 dodge b100 same color as the first one you saw in this video silvet and i had the exact same interior and almost shit when i saw this one i though no! it could be and it probably isnt but what great memories it brought back .....wow the 70s what time to be alive!

owned a 70s van to go surfing, didn't care about the rust it's the surf I wanted. when the floorboard was gone it was time to sell it . Tho these are amazing I like it ,
As a kid I was told that if one of these vans pulls up to me to run for my life.
Vans from that era are peak U.S. style imo. I'm not from the U.S. but I think this style is just cool af.
Like concourse cars, they are often better than what was around in the 1970s.

Love the van era back in the 70s there was movie I think the American pie name but had vans in it and started the crave of owning one I had 1968 Chevy van that I converted had a lot of fun sometimes drank a little to much
