This hits home really deep. I entered foster care because my dad worked 2 trucking jobs long haul, he was never home. I ended up later in life working in aerospace manufacturing and then delivering for UPS. I have a lot of interest in aerospace freight and shipping. Thank you Shay x

Thank you Miss Dixon. I just got my commercial learner's permit, and I hit the road this next week for a large moving company. My dream has been solidifying in front of me as I'm turning down this road. Aerospace runs in my family and I will be right there with you as a fellow carrier/broker. Maybe in the near future we would be able to talk or have a convo about this. In the meantime I'm going to learn to ropes and find the right questions to ask. That is the Major trouble in Trucking the last 25 years. The extreme number of Brokerages that start up to take edge in the Market. What use to be a Shipper had a couple Freight Brokers bidding on Lanes. Is now Hundreds of Brokers Cutting the Rate offered by another Broker. Until the Rate the final broker gives is too low, to get a Truck to haul it. Having a Good friend that is a Freight Broker. He will not take any load that he can NOT pay the Driver at least $5.20 a mile. His Secret, he has Signed Contracts with Shippers that he is the ONLY Broker dealing with these Shippers Freight. He keeps his Drivers Loaded at both P/U and Delivery. He laughs at those Cutthroat Brokerages fighting a load once at $7.00 mile, down to $2.00 mile.
I congratulate her on getting her business up and running as well as finding her niche. However, I couldn’t help but notice that race seemed to be a recurring theme throughout her presentation. I feel that her ultimate disappointment was that she was not accepted as a European but we can’t overlook the fact that her brother kept it gully and repped the family the way he felt it should have been repped. Man is most certainly keeping them shanks proper! Shouts out!
She is so fire that I know nothing about the industry but looking for a job, stumbled upon this interview, watched it all, left with 💯 respect & was thinking it'd be so cool to have a friend like that. Shes all that! Wow. Way to earn it all!
Let this be a great lesson to us. We all need each other, and it’s best to learn and cooperate with everyone for the goals we’re seeking. If you want more, you need to take on more risk. ASK. Stop the excuses. Don’t whine that things aren’t what you want. Quit assuming that business owners serve you. 1) is it possible to open more than one broker account with DAT but under one broker authority? 2) Can I join an existing broker authority and start do brokering?
I use to flatbed, left to be with my family but thinking about getting a flatbed. She really got me wanting to get back into this and get my trucks going to do business with her. I’ll for sure be following her on IG and etc
