A major problem is still that you're kinda locked into using a small (relative to how much there is) selection of cosmetics in order to grind Nitro efficiently. Sometimes I just wanna race with my boy N Tropy but I don't want to complete challenges without that extra +15% Nitro.
I got burnt out during the Spyro GP, I had a break for a month and felt pretty refreshed. The issue is, there's just ALWAYS stuff to get, and never quite enough coins. So I think that's the main reason. Constant pressure to get all the stuff. That and the game has been out for like...4 months. So of course people will be less interested in the game.
I also feel like Track Selection could use a tune-up as well. I feel like playing online that I only race the same 8 tracks. Where are all the others? I feel the easiest fix would be to make the "Random" selection not just pick random from what is able to be voted for, but Random All from all the tracks in the game. Then maybe wed get more variety. Thats just me though. (Havent watched the whole vid so not sure if this was touched on)
As an offline player, it's just endless grinding of the same levels to get enough wumpa coins to get... some of the items. I could just wait til the prix finishes and buy the stuff later tbh
I'm rather new to this game. I started playing at the start of this prix. I now am within the top 5% and will probably have the biggest prize. I'm a 100% offline player. Been doing the challenges everyday for the main prize. But I have a question. I read that there are items locked to this prix but are only sold on the store and have a green dot to mark them. I admit I've never seen that icon on an item in the store. How does this work? Do I need to get all these items from the store before the prix ends in order to get all the items from this prix? Sorry. Noob questions. Edit: another question. I've been only able to get Spectral wheels on the shop and I'm looking for wheels with trails to buy one pair but I've been getting Spectral for a lot of time. Why does this happen? Is it not random everyday?
@@devilsdante I ignored the first prix with the spyro characters, and I cannot purchase them or the vehicles. They say 'coming soon' but really how long do I have to wait to buy a character I want? It seems they want to limit the items/characters/skins to force people to either play more or pay more. Microtransaction gaming at its finest.
@@LouSipher actually I remember having the option to buy everything from that prix in the store for like 10k coins. This price should vary depending on what items you own from that prix. I've not being able to play switch so idk if that is still on the store. Check the store everyday.
No items mode all the way; this game is way more skill-based than Mario Kart so it's incredibly frustrating how you're still getting buttraped by items every five seconds
I love the "no items" mode idea. The "online cups" thing sounds great, especially if you could set up your own, like in MK8, but I don't think that that would happen. Even online cups in general, since the Grand Prix kind of is that in a very lame way. And I say lame, because the points are meaningless. They'd have to overhaul the online to not suck for me to even attempt a full cup, but it would be fun to compete for points that aren't just used to measure your overall "score" for the month. They could also give rewards based on GP points, to help give them an actual reason, because if you want the champion kart, nitro points are a way better option for that. One thing that I thought of was maybe modifiers for races. Perhaps a more 'difficult' mode for adventure and single races where the game isn't necessarily "harder" or more unfair, but rather that they add random modifiers. In the vain of the daily, weekly, etc. challenges, only way more varied. Maybe for adventure mode these challenged are pre-determined per each race. They could even introduce these into online races in the form of "racing sets" or whatever, similar to what Smash Ultimate is doing with their tournaments where every day they change the rule-set. Of course the normal races wouldn't be affected in case you don't want to do them. Similar to modifiers in a way, they could make a "mission mode", like what Mario Kart DS had, considering that no one else seems to want to implement anything like that anymore. I think that it would be another way to help change things up. This is a little different, but maybe making Wumpa coins a _little_ easier to get. It doesn't have to be a flat 2 or 3X modifier at all times or anything, but it would help the grind without Activision getting scared that the cash-cows would stop buying the microtransactions.
If they'll ever add No items mode many reworks and tweaks must be done to make It competitive and balanced, the big problems for It are character stats, Blue Fire pads(for certain Maps) and U turning
Just let us have mirrored tracks to choose online. Cups can wait, but mirrored tracks online would be great because many good players only play the tracks normal and online would be mirrored more difficult for those
Seconded about the breaks needing to be much longer; however, I do feel like the challenges have definitely been improved since the first GP, because at least I'm no longer being asked to complete five of the same f***ing battle every day lol
I feel that the pit stop needs to have a catalog to it. Like a section with all the tires, all the paint jobs, grand prix characters, etc. So you can work towards what you missed or need anytime. And 2 weeks between a grand prix would be great. So I can catch up on real life stuff. Lol.
They should make a catalog for the pit stop of the current grand prix. then add a new pit stop with the old grand prix contents that changes daily or maybe weekly? They should also add the old nitro bar items from the previous grand prix. And can be unlocked thru nitro points earned after maxing the current nitro bar.
They need to improve the servers. Sometimes it feels there is a huge lag. You finish the race ahead of your adversary but then when the time records are shown, you actually finished behind. Not to mention that sometimes you get hit by "invisible" power-ups. And Honestly, as much as blue fire is part of CTR identity, it is bad for the online balance. If one player is able to get ahead of the initial mayhem he will finish the race much, much ahead than everyone else, even when we are considering players of the same level. U-turn is also kinda broken and make everything other than Speed engine obsolete, since you can make perfect turns at max speed even with the worst handling engine. And the pit stop is trash. I dont care if there is monetization on the game (as long as is only cosmetics) but let all itens availabe to purchase all the time. The fact that you have to check the pit stop every day to see if the item you want is at sale (or buy itens that you dont want to reshuffle) is a terrible experience.
Honestly, while I like blue fire, it really isn't a part of the CTR identity. Sacred fire, absolutely. But you really couldn't keep blue fire for entire laps like you can now.

I agree. It sucks that certain items are stuck behind others. You HAVE to buy a kart you don't like before the one you want MIGHT become available. Sucky system

@@internet2055 You know you're still racing the same amount whether you do a cup or a bunch of single races, right? Either way, you're still racing a bunch of times. I don't see how one gets boring and repetitive when the other somehow won't.
You still get winnings even if everyone else becomes a CPU. I've had it happen to me a bunch. You probably just didn't press continue before the countdown ended.
If they could just reward us the same amount of coins offline like they do online, I wouldn't feel that time pressure to get all the items by playing online every day.
But then nobody would use their wumpa time by playing online because you can easily win every offline race and get max coins. It would kill an already struggling feature of the game
@@jordancooper7631 But you still being unfair to offline players. I understand the point, really, but is so unfair that it hurts. Maybe they should add a new harder difficult where you can earn the Daily Bonus, but it shouldn't stay the way it is now
Then maybe they give offline players wumpa time but a win in offline mode will only give you as much as a 4th place or lower in online mode. It's so much easier to win offline so there's no way that both should give out the same amount of coins
Samuel Johnson It’s the only way to obtain “new” characters. The Pit Stop was built to mimic Fortnite and was neither unintentional nor optional. You have to engage in this shop and be reminded that if you don’t have internet or money, you aren’t getting shit without grinding.
Ben Fountain I don’t think you understand the term, “Do some fuckin homework dude.” I’ve already done mine. The reason YOU can’t find an article is because you haven’t looked you lazy twat. One Google search of “CTR won’t have micro transactions” will bring you an entire page of articles that have had to be revised because Activision lied during literally all the prerelease coverage. Just because I’m not going to name the exact guy who said it for you, does not mean that Activision didn’t hype up “no micro transactions”
DarkSonic180 Do you earn N Brio and Komodo Moe from the Nitro Pass? Nope. You have to buy them from the Pit Stop instead of completing challenges to unlock them like Nina. Same for a solid chunk of the post launch content. Therefore by definition of the word, the Pit Stop is not Optional if you want most of the new content. And this implementation of said micro transactions in a shop that forces a fear of missing out to get new content was promised multiple times to not be in there and here we are.
@@AndySomething What's frustrating about having fewer players? At least you'll get your coins. Leaving lobbies just because you can't find full ones just make things worst. If you want a chaotic game, go play Mario Kart 8 I would say, since CTR leans a lot towards technique and map design.
That's exactly my problem. Very occasionally I can play 6-8 races in a row without getting kicked _and_ I could get back in with very little trouble- I did say _"very occasionally*,_ though. Because most of the time I'm lucky to get into 1 race every 10-15 minutes. It likes to kick me, not let me rejoin for 5-10 minutes (closing the game doesn't seem to help), then still proceed to kick me after getting into a lobby _and_ proceeds to lock up at the start of a race until a specific person leaves- who is it? no one knows, so everyone exits the match. It's all so damn annoying. I legit had no qualms with playing more CTR to unlock the items, since I've been making a lot of head-way getting dem Kerns, but after sitting in-front of the game for over 2 hours only to *_still_* have wumpa time, because I can't get in a damn match to save my live, I just stopped.
I love this game and Beenox is doing an amazing job addressing the fanbase's concerns, but I'm definitely feeling the burnout. Here's a few tips for others who're feeling it too and want to minimize it: 1) Always play online on the weekends. The 2x multiplier added to wumpa time should net you about 5000 - 7000 wc a day, so make sure to use that time wisely to get whatever items you want most. 2) Buy at least one skin, kart, and set of wheels as soon as possible. This is to maximize the amount on bonus nitro points you earn. The more you earn, the less time you'll spend grinding for them. 3) Make a daily quota for nitro points. What I usually do at the beginning of any grand prix is work through as many challenges I can while maintaining a 50% nitro bonus (mostly from the grand prix and expert challenges) then make a goal of about 1000np a day. 4) Do multiple challenges at once. There's always a daily character of the day and track of the day. Make the most of it and complete as many challenges as you can in one race if possible. Doing this, you can make over 1000np in one race even if you're offline. 5) Be smart about what challenges you're aiming for. Things like checking the pit stop for an easy 200np are a given but be aware that other challenges may need you to go out of your way to complete them. One example may be to play the track of the day while online and doing one of its challenges at the same time when there's another active challenge to play it in mirror mode. The better choice would be to play it offline in mirror mode (doubly so if it's also got a CTR challenge). 6) Set a limit to how often you want to play. I typically only play about 10-30min a day (depending on challenges) or a few hours if I'm doing weeklys. 7) Relax and have fun. Don't bother with any challenges that annoy you or make things difficult. Just do the ones you want and you should be fine. Honestly, if you visit the pit stop and win just one race with the 50% increase, you'll make about 800np alone per day (not even including the ones you probably did by accident), so don't stress.
This is pretty much what I do. I barely stress over the Nitro Bar anymore for the most part. You can just spend Wumpa Coins to fill it up at the end anyways. As long as you get a little more than halfway there through challenges, it doesn't even cost that much.
That's exactly what I do! That's why I never had a problem with the game. Also, I'm glad that you can't buy the characters from the old grand prix because it makes me feel unique by earning a rare character that not many people have
Agree with everything you said; I played the crap out of the game for the first two GPs to the point that it actually wore me out, but I'm having more fun with it now that I'm just focusing on playing at the weekend for the extra coins. For each GP I'm now just gonna aim to get all the characters (which is always super easy), all the karts (so just a little way into the Gold Nitro Tier), a few of the wheels and paintjobs, and whichever skins tickle my fancy
I was burned out already by the first grand prix after getting Motorsport Tawna. I barely played the two after, specially since they were underwhelming in my opinion, and unlocked little by comparison. The Nina grand prix, on the other hand, is my favorite since the first, and along with the game improvements, it got me back into the game.
I burnt out midway spyro grand prix. But the engine swap got me back tbh. But I still dont play nearly as much. Cnk story mode would drag me in like no other. But still i mostly get on to get my wumpa time and weekend bonus and thats it lol

I've been reading through the comments, and honestly, have to agree with the "we need a longer gap between each grand prix" group. Speaking as a bit of a crap player, and one who doesn't play often online except to briefly benefit from wumpa time, I don't mind grinding offline to unlock things from the pit stop. My issue is, I'm only on my second grand prix and I'm in the beginning of getting bored, which is a bit of a shame given that I don't usually suffer from game burn out for a good six months. But the single week between each grand prix is beginning to wear me out, as I feel like I don't get enough time to finally decompress between one grand prix before the next starts. So yeah, if they could stretch that out to two weeks this game would go from a 90/100 to a 100/100.
Honestly if it wasn't for the engine swaps I wouldn't be unlocking the other characters' skins outside of Accel and Speed (nor would I be going for Oxide's times without Drift). Having rotating Nitro Gauges sounds effective for those who want the grind; and the "Legacy" section of the pit stop also sounds like a fantastic idea. A hope I'd have is that these special edition exclusive items (retro character skins and karts, exclusive Crunch and Oxide skins) will become available to those who didn't get those editions or are playing on Xbox or Switch.
I was thinking of a Month in and Month out the situation: So for Every Even-Numbered Month and Bimonthly, (February, April, June, August, October and December) should be Grand Prixs. and for every Odd-Numbered Month and Bimonthly (January, March, May, July, September and November) should be when there isn't a Grand Prix. I can see that for even someone as myself who now has school is starting to struggle in finding time to play some CTR other than playing it on the Weekends.
I'm definitely feeling the burnout. I'm on the cusp of burning out completely at this rate. I play only once a week now, and I'm struggling to find motivation to play because of the constant time pressure. Feeling pressured to clear my weekly and daily challenges to prevent missing all the items I want before the end of the GP is starting to become very tiring. I'd be significantly happier if they did the following: - Give a break of about 2-3 weeks between each GP so that I can play my other games/live my life - Include 3-4 of each item in the pit stop each day instead of limiting it to one item per section (ie: instead of having just one character unlockable at a time, have a selection of 4 so you have a higher chance of spawning a specific character unlockable each day) - Increase the nitro point rate per race. Currently, you only get something like 7 nitro points per race if you've got a 50% nitro boost in offline races. If they even amped that up to 20 points per race, that would make me feel less pressured into checking off all my daily challenges if I don't have the time to do them all in a day Don't get me wrong, coming from playing WoW for years, I am completely fine with grinding dailies and weeklies, but when the game feels too much of a grind, and too time-sensitive, I struggle to balance the game with my IRL life.
I feel the same, like I actually haven't been able to complete one Grand Prix fully. I almost had the first Grand Prix done, but I have other stuff to do. I'm trying to complete the current one, but man it feels like an absolute grind fest once your at the Gold Tier. Like I love the game, but a Grand Prix that lasts about a month and then the next starts a few days after that is so annoying. Like they should make the Grand Prix's two months so where people who complete in the first month can have a break and be able to play other stuff, like I'm not gonna be playing the game when Final Fantasy 7 Remake comes out.
Yup, the characters and skins/kart customization is definately the best thing about the game. After that is the driving mechanic. Honestly i just wished everything in the game was unlockable instead of having to purchase it in the pit stop. Legendary skins would be really hard to get but very rewarding.
I’m officially over CTR as of yesterday. Nearly got Ragdoll Nina but honestly lost passion. Too much time and want to commit to other games and overall life.
Essay ahead, you've been warned. I really feel the burn out mid-GPs when I have the Nitro Bar full at gold rank, since I'll still have skins, paint schemes, wheels, and on some occasions, vehicles, but the offline grind isn't worth the roughly 30 coins per race, the reason being that paint schemes, decals, wheels and skins are pricey for what they're being sold at, why should it cost 2500 coins for a skin or themed wheels when at most, they're cosmetic? Unless they drastically affect the game with new stats, which isn't a thing to keep some form of balance and it that it's the engines that really make a difference, they shouldn't cost what they're being sold for, yet it's those costs why Activision/Beenox ended up making it so you could buy bundles of coins, because people weren't making enough coins and didn't have time to play everyday or enough patience to get those items before the current GP ends, so the idea of actually cutting the cost of things from a day onward is a no go. There's also how the Pit Stop will just have days of not giving you what you want, I missed out on two Spyro-themed wheels and paint schemes because they never showed in the last days before Nina's GP started, maybe if they allowed for people to buy things without being hindered by what the Pit Stop has active, then it'd help the process. With online, it's so easy to get annoyed with it if you're me, I'll get tired of playing the same tracks over and over, with the main one always being the new track added for the GP, while I'll get hit by stuff that either shouldn't have connected (the only items you get warned of are missiles and the warp orbs) or by people who weren't even that close to me, namely being hit with someone with a mask when they've yet to even pass me. And I know they've added the Wumpa Time thing for offline play, but it's yet to really happen for me, it just never seems to be active when I do some of the GP challenges, and while I would enjoy more than just the one map for every GP, at the same time, it'd be unfair to the people at Beenox to make 3/4 maps on top of what they're adding, plus the quality would no doubt take a hit from the time crunch to get 3/4 maps made before the next GP. But speaking of, with me now completing the gold tier of Nitro, the only reason to play is to grind online so I can get the coins for the other items, but it'd be nice to have it so once the Nitro Bar is full, the excess points are converted to extra coins so you still have some incentive to play. At the same time, there'd have to be some sort of conversion rate for Nitro Points to Coins so it doesn't end up breaking the system, as you can get up to 50 - 750 points depending on the challenge, it's difficulty and so on, but it'd be a system that'd help me get the GP-limited stuff that little bit faster.
All of these are valid complaints but the pit stop part: GP cosmetics are no longer day-exclusives as of Spooky GP. You could clear out the whole catalog on day 1 if you wanted to and had enough coins. Don't know why we didn't have this sooner though.
Great video Can. Tbh I'm one of those people who are kind of burnt out from this game, and it's not just for the grand prixs only, what's really frustrating is everything that has to do online. For example, you have to stay connected to the internet to get items, characters and vehicles (which is not fair for offline people), players always using the same character, invisible walls, others using power ups, glitches/bugs you name it all. Aswell I do want to play other games that I'm looking foward in the near future, but this game is starting to smell and feel like Fortnite imo, and I don't want that to be the case. This is how I feel, and you can disagree with me all you want, but at the end of the day this is just my opinion. Have a nice day 😊.
I was incredibly burnt out after the Halloween Grand Prix and didn’t come back to the game until they were all finished. The obligation to play every day in boring ways for the challenges and with the frustration of playing online just made it no longer fun. They should’ve took November off. I’m enjoying the game now but they should’ve put in a break to stop the burn out
I just would like to play casual, but I want every champion decal and its like I must play everyday like an hour to have it, and I cant because I have a lot of work... I would like like a month of relax instead of gp every month
And the second comment is the reason why I don't focus on details in profile pictures. Megumi's profile picture is perfect.😇 P.S.: I don't feel burnt out by the game right now. Thank you.
Personally I have a big problem with the Nitro Cannisters. It's like the philosophy goes against itself: "Here is a bunch of stuff so you can customize your kart and character just how you like it - But you should only use one of these few things if you want a chance in the Grand Prix". Every GP I've felt very limited, and sad that I "couldn't" play with my mains. The engine swap helped a lot (Imagine if some of the Driving Styles had Nitro Cannisters), but I personally think they should remove Cannisters entirely. If Beenox wants players to use new content, they shouldn't worry. People will use stuff just because it's new. Besides, there already are the GP challenges which make you use certain characters and karts. This works way better than the Nitro Cannisters.
Theres also the issue of there often being a ton of characters that give boosted nitro points for the grandprix, but it will be like "complete all these things with Ripper Roo" who is not one of said characters that boost nitro points
ehh if u dont like using charactrs w/ nitro boost then dont use 'em i cleared out the Pitstop GP items on day1 and filled Gold gauge in a week and 1day and i nver bothered to use nitro boosted items
@@mihamiakino1 yeah, but not everybody has the free time for that or arent that skilled. It usually takes me the whole month to fill the gold gauge and thats with playing just about everyday with 50% nitro boost. It shouldnt be only accessible to the very skilled, and those who can play the game for hours on end a day.
I agree that something needs to be done about previous characters. I recently got CTR for Christmas and I REALLY want to play as Koala Kong but I just cant because even though ive got wumpa coins to spare he's currently unavailable in the shop and I have no idea when hes coming back.
I love how his character is hit by a missile as he describes the instability of online play in CTR. The only thing that would make it better would be if he had crashed into a nitroglycerin box instead. Edit: The Motorbike Tawna skin was the first skin available for purchase during yesterday's Pitstop update.
To be honest... I'm kind of tired to play CTR Nitro-Fueled. Don't get me wong, the game is great, but I'm kind of getting tired of the whole thing. I have been playing the game since the release date, I had a lot of with it of course! The thing is I do not have time to play CTR Nitro-Fueled 24/7, I have other important things to do too. I hope the whole GP will end or atleast take a break, sorry to saying this but I'm getting sick of it, again do not get me wrong, it's amazing all the content they are putting into the game, but to be honest... I hope the GP will end soon, I feel we have enough content for the game.
It's more a balance between more content and the speed at which you earn ressources to access that content. It's not *just* more content, it's more content to buy from the shop, which is different.
I don’t think they need to stop it. They just need to not make it timed. I don’t care if it takes me 6 months to finish a Grand Prix, but I don’t have that option.
I'm hoping that Decembers grand prix will be the last. I don't want more content, because it's too much, and it drags for a while. I need a proper break.
@@ShellshockDM187 100% agreed, that is what I'm hoping for too basically, I hope the December GP will be the last one, they add to much content than the actually game needs in my personal opinion, I don't really want to see any GP in January or February etc in 2020. I need a proper break too.
One new things they've added that I love is the more accurate matchmaking based on your skill level. You're now matched with people who are more or less as good as you are and it makes the races so much closer and more intense. When I started playing, I was pretty consistently coming in last place and that gradually built up to the point where I was winning almost every race I played and by a pretty big margin. It kind of got boring being way out in front of everyone. Now, it's seems just as likely I'll come first as I will come last. There's no way to predict the outcome of a race and it's just pure chaos from start to finish.
I have no opinion about Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. I am doing great with the Grand Prix seasons. Because I just need all of the characters to join the roster. Oh, and by away, after Nitro Tour Grand Prix with includes Tawna, Ami, Megumi, Liz and Isabella, and Back N. Time Grand Prix with includes Baby T, Baby Crash and Baby Coco, and Spyro & Friends Grand Prix with includes Spyro the Dragon, Hunter the Cheetah and Gnasty Gnorc, and Spooky Grand Prix with includes Nina Cortex, Dr. N. Brio and Komodo Moe, and I definitely can't wait for Neon Circus Grand Prix with includes Pasadena Opossum, Von Clutch and Koala Kong that'll be coming by November 8th, and Winter Festival Grand Prix with includes a mystery new character: it could be: Fasty; I think; and some other two new characters like Rusty Walrus and Bearinator that'll be coming by December 6th, and another Grand Prix season: a Chinese New Year themed with includes Yaya Panda, Warthog, and Farmer Ernest that'll be coming by January 2020, and another Grand Prix season with includes Baby Cortex, Baby N. Tropy, and Lab Assistant that'll be coming by February 2020, and another Grand Prix season with includes Evil Twins, Evil Crash and Madame Amberley that'll be coming by March 2020, and another Grand Prix season with includes Chick and Stew, and King Paul III the Chicken that'll be coming by April 2020, and another Grand Prix season with includes Fake Emperor Velo, Rilla Roo and Viscount that'll be coming by this May 2020, and the last Grand Prix season with includes Ripto and Sorceress that'll be coming by June 2020 when Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will be ported by PC. So, what do you guys think? Comment below to let me know. 🙂
The delay is so annoying. Also the spyro circuit totally pissed me off with the fact that you couldnt dodge items in the portals. Never played that map again after that
I actually think that the grand prix challenges are what are burning people out. They are very slow and tedious to do and makes it feel super grindy. People are focused on that instead of the actual racing. I know people can just ignore all the cosmetic stuff but they do not. People want that cool stuff but getting it makes the game feel grindy. Which burns people out
Was burnt out very quick thanks to the grinding. Felt done after the first/second grand prix. I got the characters for each grand Prix when they arrived (except the latest one with nina) then I wouldn't play again. It's just boring having to do the same thing so many times especially when it's really frustrating to race against certain people. You feel like you aren't progressing when games are this grindy, therefore no satisfaction therefore not wanting to play. It would take me multiple full days just to unlock a skin and kart. Not worth it. Time based also pissed me off. If love to come back any time and be able to unlock whatever I want by working towards it. I don't want to be pressured into doing so in the time they give.
You need to many wumpa coins to buy one simple thing, 2500 for each new color of the Grand Prix. This make the players so tired to continue playing, everthing looks expansive, even the stickers, 4000 or 3000 wp coins (I don't remember exactly) to buy Zam, Zem and Velo stickers... Come on dude
It doesn't help that the orbs and clocks affect everyone else too, so if 1st place has a shield, those two items just wind up furthering the gap between 1st and everybody else...
The only reason this game is getting old for me is because on switch it is actually hard to find a game and half the time when we finally do we get disconnected or the host leaves the devs need to fix online in order to make more people come back and make switch a good and smoothly run console for the game also custom lobbies Nat types on switch half the time we cant go in custom lobbies but I don't agree with the people saying they don't want constant grand prixs seriously that's the thing making me come back to the game and the amazing tracks of course they have such a good game I don't want them to ruin it
We have plenty of time to collect the unlockables. My sister doesn't have a job and I'm a school bus driver, so I get several hours off each day between 8:30 and 12:30, plus the entire evening off.😉
Tawna's Motorsport skin is in fact back, and available in the Pit Stop Shop. I got it a few days ago, so yes, I can confirm that the nitro bar rewards can be made into pit stop shop items later on. I personally am annoyed with the constant Grand Prix events happening monthly, but one thing I noticed was the Nitro Points in Nina's Nightmare is that they have been increased in payout. Previous Daily and Quick challenges only gave out 100 nitro points. Now they offer 200 points. I think this, along with Nina's Ragdoll skin offering a total bonus of +60% Nitro Points, was introduced in an attempt to address the burnout and lagging players, but I could be wrong.
There's another issue is that they release 1 track a month and when it's released everyone plays that one track till the point you hate it. There needs to be more tracks in a release even if it ends up with less grand prixs.
@tasos orfas let's not forget that there is also manipulative microtransactions in the game that give activision more than enough to fund that kind of content in the game.
I still LOVE the game, yet I’m starting to get a bit frustrated with it. To get enough wumpa coins to be able to buy all of the items and remain in the top 5% of the Grand Prix to get the champion cart skin, you need to play for a MINIMUM of about 2-2.5 hours a day. Also, just to get your half an hour of wumpa time coins online, it literally takes 1.5-2 hours due to all of the disconnects, servers crashing and just the general waiting time between each race. It also annoys me that countries other than the US and UK are being forgotten about with the exclusive items like the sour patch collection and the fire hawk cart. I want to collect all of the items yet I can’t just because I live in Australia. They need an “express” online mode where it instantly just goes to the next race without the one minute waiting time between each race!
I haven't watched the video yet, but definitely. I genuinely want them to take a break with the GP's, because I'm kinda sick of the game, but I don't want to miss out on content.
Same. I don't like it that you miss out on content if you don't play enough and can't get the content on your own pace. Also the items are way to expensive for example 2500 wumpa coins for 10 different colors of the same wheels.... I want to get all of the customisation items but that would take way too much time which makes the game very boring and grindy for me. Also the pitstop is just stupid since you can't really choose what you want to buy but have to wait a week or sometimes even longer for the item that you want to appear in the pitstop. Also i liked the championship kart and decals at first but now it just feels like you miss out on so much "exclusive" content if you don't play the game every day.
Maybe after the christmas update they will slow down.. i just cant push myself to play as much anymore. The nostalgia and the 'new game' aspect helped but now its overplayed and oversaturated.
@@hugje476 Yeah, also i usually only play online on the weekend for the bonus and because i dont have any other time for it. Also i barely even do the daily challenges, they are so repetitive and boring.
I loved CTR, always have. But I didn’t play in ANY of the grand prix’s. I HATE with a passion timed events in video games. I want to play at my own leisure, when I do choose to do so. Game developers act these days like players have nothing else better to do, meanwhile I have real life shit to get done. It’s a shame too cause I really wanted to play as my favorite purple boi, but refuse to jump through these ridiculous hoops to do so.
Yeah, gotta be honest, for me the initial turnoff was their blatant "lol go buy coins now" move, and I've not really wanted to play since. Gave it a few runs since, mind, and the core gameplay is still rock solid, but I still don't particularly feel like playing it anymore, which is a massive shame. This couples with the fact that I'm not great with multiplayer, and a massive completionist. I.e. if you want all of the things? Good bloody luck with the rotating store, much less gathering enough Wumpa coins a day. I get why they do it from a business standpoint, but for me, it's a gigantic turnoff to have to wait for the item you don't have to hopefully maybe perhaps show up. And even if not being a completionist, there are things that I'd really want to unlock, but hey, gotta wait for the shop RNG to turn up gold! I find it a shame for a game that, at its core, is really solid, but yeah, I burnt out of it early on with those decisions for the game. Glad to know you're still having a blast though. My lack of joy shouldn't mean others can't have fun with it :)
Oh boohoo they added a completly optional feature that doesn't affect the way you normally earn coins, so that we can support the game and keep getting major updates. Cry me a river.
I personally feel the completely optional feature shouldn't have been necessary or desirable in the first place - the store design itself encouraged that. That is, however, just my opinion. It's what put ME off the game. If it doesn't bother you, more power to you. Your response seems just a little touchy to a polite explanation of how I personally felt about it, which is relevant to the topic of the video. But hey, you do you. If you're enjoying it and feel it's not an issue, happy for ya.
DragonBlaze X activision wants you to think it’s optional, all it does is make the lazy idiots who can’t play the game get items, which is dumb, it could also make people desperate for items, so they buy, trash like you is the reason activision keeps doing this
@@redbool1115 On the contrary, all it does is making the actual items harder to get for non paying players If there was no microtransaction you can bet that the coing gain from offline were much higer and the cost of items were much lower For how it is now, getting coins without paying the PS Plus is stupidly slow and it's an insane grind just to get scraps from the pit stop, and lets not talk about those 7k to 10k item bundles, they are farr away from reach
TheMetalOverlord oh funny that, I actually grinder for the 9k bundle, that’s the thing, people who don’t grind for the items don’t deserve them, period. Micro transactions are dumb and need to be removed but who am I kidding it’s activision
the online servers suck and im not getting enough coins to keep up with everything in the shop i stay in 1-3 place each match but after 3 games im getting 80 coins and simple stickers is 2400 tokens smh
I wish there was a "practice" mode where you could be on a track for an infinite amount of laps and just practice. I could be on a blue fire track for 10 laps or more if I wanted to, just to nail down the corners. It's annoying only getting 3 laps and only 2 of them you have blue fire, then you have to restart, wait a lap, and you have blue fire again. It just kills the momentum. I feel like I'd get way better
That was one thing I was talking about. I was hoping the Grand Prix events were going to be something like "quarterly", "seasonal", or "holiday" tailored. The back to back stuff is like "bro, I got other games I wanna play".
This GP in general, Engine Swap, and GP items now rotating anytime in the Pit Stop reignited my love for the game. The only parts that I still feel burnt out on are earning Wumpa Coins for the next GP and staying in the top 5% on the Nitro Leaderboard. I wish the decals would just be unlockable in the Pit Stop (for those who already won the Champion kart), so that we don't have to worry about staying on top of the leaderboard and just stop playing after completing the Gold Tier. Also, just like in the Back N. Time GP, the game (sometimes) won't let me go into Online mode due to a network error. If only I could earn the same amount of coins during Wumpa Time in arcade mode besides the Weekend bonus. That way I don't have to worry about going online; since I'm more of a solo player (unless I'm playing with a friend).
i played avidly for the first two GP's, but it is SUCH a grind and there isn't enough changes to really make such a grind feel worthwhile. I haven't played in about 2 months at this point. So yeah they definitely need to ease off a bit
RELEASE THE CRASH NITRO KART STORY. Also rerelease hyper space way with its original length. It’s weird seeing it shorter when tracks like tiny arena, electron avenue, thunderstruck and more are longer than the original track itself.
@@RalphNC09 what bugs a hahaha When you are detonated by a bomb 10 meters away from you, crush into invisible walls. When can't drive even 20 meters without being fucked by missiles and the other shit.. Enough? I can continue
My friend was burned out by the time the second grand prix started. There has been a very noticeable decline in the player base since the first grand prix. During the first GP there was over 375,000 players on the xbox nitro leaderboards and this time, now halfway through the fourth GP, it only just ticked over 107,000. I'm finally starting to get worn down. And it's not by the challenges, I've kept up with them by knocking out as many daily challenges as possible in one race and that's usually my daily participation done in 5 minutes. What's getting to me is the cost of new characters, karts and skins with every grand prix. I haven't been able to take advantage of the daily bonus because online play is near impossible for me these days as usually every lobby I actually manage to find either drops out as soon as a track is selected or right before the lobby countdown ends. I've only had one successful online race in a month. Because of this I've had to play offline to get coins and even though I'm pretty tolerable of grinding in games, the rewards are so lackluster that it becomes less and less fun. Four GPs in and I finally caved and purchased wumpa coin bundle (something I promised myself I wouldn't do) because I just could not bring myself to spend entire days grinding the same track to get what I wanted/needed for the nitro boost. I sincerely hope that the December grand prix is the last. At least for a little while.
I just recently got the game and I was SO excited to play as Spyro and then found out there was no possible way for me to do that right now, and I was really disappointed. And the game didn't do much to explain how the pit stop or the Grand Prix or any of that worked, so this is my first time even learning why I can't do that. I didn't even know it would change if I checked in the next day. The way it looked to me, I thought I had to buy what was there to unlock the ability to buy the next item, and I ended up buying some things I didn't really want when I could've saved up to buy things I was more interested in later. Nothing on the pit stop told me I could come back later to find different things. There are cool skins that I really want to play with, like the goth-looking Coco that I really like the look of that say they're available in the pit stop and when I finally looked at the pit stop, there was nothing I was even remotely interested in for sale there. I just feel like people who got a start on ctr before I had the chance to get the game have all these cool advantages I was looking forward to while I was left in the dust. I know the difference is mostly cosmetic, especially now, with the option to change your driving style, but for a game with such repetitive gameplay, those cosmetic differences are what makes the game interesting. I can't play online without everyone around me lagging all over the place or being the target of every projectile there is, and as cool as it is to play with other people, it's more frustrating than it's worth. If the pit stop is set up the way it is to encourage recurring players, that's really just a crappy marketing tactic and it keeps people from accessing the contact it really wants. If the gameplay is fun and varied enough, you don't have to wait people to come back just to see what you put in the pit stop that day.
I'm not completely burnt out yet, but one thing that I'm sure is going to contribute to it is the pit stop. I wasn't following everything when the game was coming out, so when I heard they were adding a shop I was actually really excited, because I love customization options in video games, but I hate the way that the pit stop functions. The most annoying thing about buying things in general is not being able to buy things when they come out. During the Back in Time Grand Prix there were still people who didn't have N.Trance because the ONLY way to buy him was through a pack (which the game wasn't recommending due to the Grand Prix). The prices for the items are also grossly inflated. When me and my brother played the game for the first time, we were absolutely appalled at how little coins we were getting compared to how much everything costs, then we got PS Plus and were even more surprised at how much we were getting. It's absolutely disgusting how the pit stop functions especially for people who CAN'T buy PS Plus. I don't care if it "encourages" people to use PS Plus (which it doesn't because there are people who just can't afford it).
i used to adore this game to death but now i feel like im gonna throw up if i see gameplay again. SO. MUCH. GRINDING. the only reason the grand prixs exist is to get you to stay playing but since so many good items are locked after the grand prix ends i keep grinding the nitro points to hell and it became super repetitive. why did the pit stop need to exist!?!?!?!?! it feels like such a mainstreamed game bc of the pitstop. why dont i get the karts and whatnot by the means of adventure mode or just... PLAYING THE GAME. im sorry but they did NOT handle this game well post-launch.
They need to add ranked I've had the game since Christmas and have beat the oxide trial for Sewer Speedway, and Roos tubes. and still haven't won a race online.
Yes im burnt out. I force myself to play the bare minimum because I want to have all the unlocks. I've spent 150+ hours on the game since it came out how could I not be burnt out
@@DBZWarrior1 I love the game a lot, its very nostalgic (Spyro and Crash is my childhood). The first month or two I would play everyday but that was mostly because I was seeing constant improvements and being challenged by Oxide ghosts. When it comes down to it, Online is fun but I generally don't want to play it every single day anymore. Now its just Wumpa Time for me and Im out. Maybe you're not burned out now but eventually XD
I know I'm late... but the fact that we're forced to play online to gain coins is one of the main problems for me. However, I personally have loved the game since I was very young so I enjoy time trial and beating my own times. This raises the second issue, the global leaderboard is covered with glitched completion times, demoralizing anyone from actually trying to see where they place globally. From a viewers point I can only draw one conclusion: someone who is very good at the game is essentially doing the same race over and over and I'm not sure that someone would enjoy watching that. For people new to the series we can easily draw a line that they will feel completely outclassed if they don't improve against bots offline and then progress to time trials to learn shortcuts/tricks so they will bail on the game. Finally, the core issue is in the online mode since you can be in first but one attack can drop you back to 5th place with absolutely no way to recover if the first two are playing efficiently. Overall, I find the game to be a great couch game to play with friends but not a good watching game since the 'content' isn't engaging i guess.
I agree that a break in between grand prix's would be great. I want to get the items. It's a bit of a grind and because of that it's the only game I have time to play. And I can't play every day.
My main problem is that every unlockable is basically tied to the grind, so if my motivation is the GP aka the unlockables in the Pit Stop, I need a lot of coins fast. Since I'm pretty good at the game, I often win (or used to), but if someone in the lobby is better and I get 2nd or 3rd, I get frustrated because for the same amount of Wumpa Time, I could've gotten a lot more points, so it doesn't feel rewarding to play if I'm not winning aka getting the most coins out of my Wumpa Time. After a few months, this piled up so much that I basically stopped playing. If I could unlock the content by other means (offline challenges, online challenges that are not just "win x races") I could play online for fun and mess around online, and enjoy races even when I finish 2nd or 3rd, or 8th. On top of that, the lack of a ranked mode is very frustrating. Even if they managed to put good players in a lobby together, this only enhances the frustration mentioned above. Now I have an even harder time winning races because I'm good at the game and get thrown into lobbies with people who are also good. This means that on average, I'll make even less coins just because I'm good at the game. It doesn't really make much sense to me.
Totally agreed, my biggest issue with burn out was the ongoing "need" to play daily to unlock stuff so I wouldn't miss it. I've got work, I need to travel a bunch, I've got eyesight issues and headaches and can't focus as well as I used to and it hurts too much to play some days. When I miss out on stuff it was a major bummer. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the game, one of my favorites of all time and the remaster is done soooo well. It's great fun to play when I'm in the mood to play it and actually want to give it time but otherwise it just became a chore
I feel like they did the circuits why to quickly.. I literally just finished the single player at launch and they were right in on these circuit cups and characters.. It was way to quick.. Then it was over really fast as well.. I just didn’t have the time to actually play it.. Which is a shame because I really wanted to check out these new tracks and that impossible because of how they’ve done these things.. I’m not going to play the game non stop online for a track and a character.. Then it seems like there’s a another one like right after it.. I’ve played non of these new content because of how they’ve handled this.
I felt completely burned out right at the start of the Spyro GP, mainly because I was so committed to hitting the top 5% in both of the previous GPs that I'd been playing it for several hours every day since launch. I nabbed the new characters and two of the karts, then shelved it for a month. I decided to nip back into the Spooky GP just to get the new characters, but was surprised to find how much I was already enjoying it again, so I'm back to playing it regularly - just not nearly AS regularly as before lol. From here on out I'm just gonna focus on weekend play and not worry so much about the leaderboards. Personally, I feel like it'd be a win-win for everyone if the devs would just space out the GPs a little more; a month between each would be ideal, or at least a couple of weeks. So far I've clocked around 100 hours yet I still have an insane amount to do and collect from the base game, simply because the game is constantly throwing new stuff at you that you're under pressure to get before the events end. And spacing them out would be good for the devs, because they could make the stream last twice as long instead of running out of content early.
I wish that online racing had options. For example : single race or Cup Race. I know you can do battle and all that but im tired of doing 3 laps and boom back to lobby with more waiting. A cup option would be awesome!
@@shadeblackwolf1508 If you are referring to the option to buy coins from PSN or whatever that is not predatory it is completely optional but in my opinion it should not be in the game.
We also really need the ability to create our own cups and save our kart loadouts. That'll breathe in a lot more life into both the online and offline areas of the game.
I mean, we've been playing it for three months now. Yeah, do anything that long and people will get bored. It's not the game. I'm kind of sick of people trashing on this game all the time. Playing it and claiming to love it, but never have a positive thing to say. It's always stereotypical sheepish gamer talk. Screaming at Activision for the microtransactions (which arent in your face at all), the online issues which yes need fixed, but you guys just whine and whine and whine. Yet people totally forget the fact that Activision brought us this amazing game with tons of tracks, and customization. All because its trendy to be upset at big companies. Ignoring the fact that this game is nothing short of amazing. All the characters, their quotes, animations that bring personality. The look and feel of the game. This is one of the best games I've played in a while, having played the original as well.
I'm happy with my purchase, and thanks Activision for making this game, but all these GP and new unlockables are way too much, I bet most people are burnt out of this game.
@@RalphNC09 they just need cups man how hard can it be. the game is awesome but im kinda done playing single online races, and time trials get boring after a while aswel.
I'd say a way of getting the Nitro Bar items post-Grand Prix is this: Grand Prix ends, your Nitro Score is locked in for the Championship table as usual. Nitro Points can still be earned. Once you reach the next milestone (like every 2000 points or something), it gives you a random drop of an item from the Pit Stop. This gives you a reason to complete challenges between Grand Prixs, and a way of earning past time-restricted items. Could be fun? Element of chance. I'm seeing the items burst out of a crate like the Naughty Dog/Beenox logo when you load up the game.
I personally think the pit stop is fun because all you have to do is check daily if an item you want or that seems cool to you is available, kind of like seeing if santa claus got you want you wanted, or if he got you coal. The only issues I see with the game is that playing offline gets you like 20 coins when the good items range from 1500 - 2500 coins, the lag online, and the repetitive tasks.
This Grand Prix is absolutely brutal for me this time round i missed the first and as a guy who wants a completionist sorta thing there is soooo much wumpa coins i need to earn i need to get 75.5k wumpa coins the remainder of this month(that's after purchasing ton of stuff already) in order to get everything from twilight wheels to spooky skins. It's pretty much burnt me out i even ask my friends when they come over to do my online racing on weekends haha. I straight out refuse to buy coins never going to happen.
Best way to make game interesting for all are more online modes. Now we have 2 modes, race and battle. For online mode race I think is best to have 5 modes. First mode - single race, second - race without boxes, third - cup mode (computer choose 4 tracks random, in that way we have diffrent cups and fun), fourth - mirror single race and fifth mode - battle race like in crash tag team racing. Now, online is too monotonous and boring. Further, codes for power ups are too bad. In original CTR, codes for power ups were perfect. No one dont get warp orb or clock. Player on first place can drive like in time trial, while who is on 5th place would be hitted by too many bombs or missiles. Terribile codes for power ups. Online battle mode is too demotivating to play cuz gives too little wumpa coins. Prime reason is very very bad online servers. Servers are often crushed and sometimes I need wait 5 minutes for one race. Best solution would be that computer is host of the rooms. Now player who is host of the room leaves, all players also leave the room. Online mode must have more varoity for fun and playing.
I'm glad that the GP challenges got more varied. That way they feel less like a chore to complete. I echo the sentiment of wanting longer breaks between GPs. There's other games I'd like to play and things that I have to do IRL. But seeing that the GP limited icon is already missing in the pit stop, feels like they're pulling back on the timed gimmick. A more stable online is definitely needed though. Waiting too long in the lobbies between races is what I find myself doing the most each day I choose to play.
+Canadian Guy Eh I'm not burning out! I'm gonna keep racing as much as I can for a lot of that juicy Grand Prix content! :) Oh! And I hope for... - Future Grand Prixes - Veteran Racers like Yaya Panda & Fake Velo - New racers like Elora, Bianca, & Cynder - More karts like Team Velo (CNK Boss Kart) & the rest of the Tag Team Racing cars (Ex: Yellow Horde; Angsterator; Overcompensator; Zwergato; Der Pickle; Guzzler; Bad Girl)
Online Connectivity constantly disconnects spending increased time in lobby, the pit stop could be better if i can select the items i wanted instead of it being a random daily i have to check in and end up missing cause i lack coins, maybe add more interesting items that affect leading positions sometimes the skill level in driving is so wide there is 8 7 6th placed people getting overlapped occasionally the items may directly affect leading positions or maybe do something with the ghosts that were introduced with nina's GP like you break a box and the ghost chases 1st place and once it catches up it de-buffs the speed or loots their items or maybe randomizes their items, add a new racing mode, like a item limited mode (Only TNT or something random) team racing mode (the teams placement allocates points of their position (maybe adding a king dynamic so you try to make a certain driver come 1st for more points). CREATE MORE EARNED REWARDS, the pit stop is great don't get me wrong, but earning a reward like N.Tropy, N.Tropy's Digital Skin, Sapphire, Gold and Platinum Paint, the boss unlocks, there was a feeling of relief its kinda like finishing a darksouls boss you got beat on but you tried again and again and then you finally do it you have access to a new weapon, or for CTR's case i Beat all of oxides time trials ive got the Digital Skin for N.Tropy i celebrated went to my bro, punched him screaming "BOOIII" he said "WTF" "i got the DIGITAL BOUNCE SKIN PLAYA" i replied he says "you ****** Oxide up?" "I ****** his bung ho into outer space BABY!" i replied i started having a stroke on the floor (not literally but vibrating on the floor, in excitement) we then played som split screen CTR to show the digital skin off.
No worries. The game can only get better from this point onward. Once we get host migration, more online modes, solo AND team based, and more post-season content, the game will thrive.
I burnt out pretty hard after the first GP. I didn't bother with the 2nd GP and only got Spyro in the 3rd and I still haven't touched the current one and I don't think I will even though it has characters that I wouldn't mind having. For me, the item balance and blue fire were also key factors with most online races ending with half of the lobby not even finishing the race. On top of that, something that I noticed after hours of play is how CTR just lacks positive reinforcement during online races. Mario Kart 8 makes you feel pretty okay about just getting in the top 50% in an online race while CTR makes you feel bad if you don't get first place with a lot of the GP missions requiring you to get first place on specific tracks or with specific characters. I honestly don't know if I'll ever want to return to this game.
I didn't suffer from the burnout, because I stopped playing one day because I didn't like the controls. But now I've come back to the game and I can play all the content I missed out on at once. And I've started to come to terms with the controls, boosting my playtime on CTR.
To be honest, this is coming from someone who doesn't own a ps4 and only watched CTR so take my opinion as you see fit. In my opinion, there was 2 reasons that viewership died down. 1) Speedrunners. I don't mean people speedrunning the singleplayer game, I mean people who can finish tracks in a quarter of the amount of time as the regular weekend players. Watching people finish races 30 to 40 seconds ahead of everyone else got kind of boring. 2) microtransactions. As much as it seems like the active community is so on the fence or "it's ok as long as they're only cosmetic". It killed the appeal of the game. Fans expected this to be the change in the gaming industry. Finally, one triple A game that isn't plagued by microtransactions. This can be the safe space in the awful world of triple A games in 2018/19. And then they went and killed that dream. And I think the fact that there were so many people who were just ok with it didn't help it. You can argue as much as you want saying that it's only cosmetic but the fact is, people are getting unlocks that they didn't earn. Buying their way into the game and supporting Activision with the idea that they can keep adding microtransactions to games because there will always be oblivious people who buy it.
What makes me feel burnt out, is the fact that it's hard for me to find players to play with. I keep finding lobbies that are either super laggy, which end up being disbanded, people who glitch lobbies, and people that dodge matches all the time. Sometimes I spend 20 minutes trying to play, because people simply can't handle a 1vs1. Not only that, I HATE it when someone wait those whole 50 seconds before disbanding a lobby, instead of leaving right away. Seriously, I just want to play and get my daily coins, I don't care how good, how bad nor how many people there are. Gladly, being able to play with multiple characters without changing your driving style, makes the game even more enjoyable now, and less tiring.
The only thing I really get frustrated with is the constant lagging in online play. I'm also not a huge fan of the difference in skill level online, but I get that would be pretty hard to try and manage. For me, if I manage to finish a race before it times out then I consider myself a winner. It feels like I don't have the time nor the skill level to be able to be competitive, and it's pretty disheartening when you're in fourth place and the person in first actually laps you.
the grand prix bar should just act like a permanent ranking system as well as the pit stop items (both of those simply stacking up one after another), whilst a new grand prix season just means a new map, a new tier of leveling and new permanent pitstop items...but nothing time based, that way not only does it not become a chore, but it also adds constant game "leveling" to go through at your own pace and only those who have put in the hours have been able to reach the higher tiers/characters/skins etc, but you can put in the hours at any time you want without the need to rush
They honestly need to add in extra modes, or the game will lose player base quick. Either by bringing in BIG CHARACTERS & MAPS from other games, or release it on the PC QUICK + Enable Cross play.
was burnt out after the first gp. got the champ kart then and my goal was complete. Honestly if they would reward us with the same amount of coins for offline as they do online, i would still play it.

ME TOO! finally I can actually play as Crash with the type of driving that I like to use (high turning skill)
When they add Rilla Roo this games population will double
Agreed.
(Havent watched the whole vid so not sure if this was touched on)
TheLonelyGoomba It’s crazy how much content they have put out after just 4 months.. It’s why to fast for the majority of players..
I just concentrate on grinding and buying the items I want the most anything else after that is optional or a sterch goal.
that's exactly as you said for me as well
It’s confirmed tawnas Motorsport skin is available in the pit stop
As an offline player, it's just endless grinding of the same levels to get enough wumpa coins to get... some of the items. I could just wait til the prix finishes and buy the stuff later tbh
Not the decals though, right? Or will they be available later?
You either waste your time or waste your money, the fun of getting rewarded for things is a forgotten memory.
My top 4 changes would be:
-Add an actual skill score system in the game
-No items mode
-Pit Stop catalog
-Online Cups
U people are stupid af. They wont add new mode because no one would play matchmaking and you would have to wait way longer
Just let us have mirrored tracks to choose online. Cups can wait, but mirrored tracks online would be great because many good players only play the tracks normal and online would be mirrored more difficult for those
I wish there was a bigger break in-between the grand prix. Also the challenges are too samey and it's getting repetitive and tiring.
They're sometimes not even checked it they work' The 1 foot jump for example and no boost pads on Hyper Spaceway for example.
You sound like square eyed jak
Seconded about the breaks needing to be much longer; however, I do feel like the challenges have definitely been improved since the first GP, because at least I'm no longer being asked to complete five of the same f***ing battle every day lol
I feel that the pit stop needs to have a catalog to it. Like a section with all the tires, all the paint jobs, grand prix characters, etc. So you can work towards what you missed or need anytime. And 2 weeks between a grand prix would be great. So I can catch up on real life stuff. Lol.
The catalog idea it's great. I think that Beenox should listen to public suggestions
@@ianpaiva9518 thanks so much! I agree that beenox should definitely listen to outside comments.
@Patrick ArmsRoberts that's not catalog based. I'm referring to how the pit stop should be set up for things to purchase with wumpa coins.
@Patrick ArmsRoberts I want them all to listen and make changes. But I still love the game regardless

This, I agree with you a 100%. I love this game but every time I play this game online I'm fueled with rage.
There are no severs. It's P2P
They should let people buy whatever they want instead of waiting or unlocking stuff you don't want in order to get the items you want
Agree but i know it is meant to make you want to buy coins, what else why would they do that. ..
Like the Crypt in Mortal Kombat Armageddon.
People should be able to buy everything except the bundles. I think the bundles should stay time exclusive since it adds to the 'rarity' of the items.
This.
I agree. It sucks that certain items are stuck behind others. You HAVE to buy a kart you don't like before the one you want MIGHT become available. Sucky system
What really salts my apples is when I'm racing online and every person racing disconnects and are replaced with AI. I don't receive my winnings and I am taken straight to the lobby.

Remember when they introduced microtransactions, despite saying there wouldn't be
Samuel Johnson It’s the only way to obtain “new” characters. The Pit Stop was built to mimic Fortnite and was neither unintentional nor optional.
You have to engage in this shop and be reminded that if you don’t have internet or money, you aren’t getting shit without grinding.
Samuel Johnson I never said you weren’t.
I did correct the statement you made about it being optional despite our mutual distaste for the Pit Stop.
DarkSonic180 “It’s” not what?
DarkSonic180 Do you earn N Brio and Komodo Moe from the Nitro Pass?
Nope.
You have to buy them from the Pit Stop instead of completing challenges to unlock them like Nina. Same for a solid chunk of the post launch content.
Therefore by definition of the word, the Pit Stop is not Optional if you want most of the new content.
And this implementation of said micro transactions in a shop that forces a fear of missing out to get new content was promised multiple times to not be in there and here we are.
I got bored playing online because of the game's inconsistent lobby service.
And they don't fix the missile indicator
The lobby matchmaking is terrible. I enjoy the game but playing online is so frustrating when most races you get 3-5 people in a lobby.
@@AndySomething or people leave every 2 seconds for a fucking hour =____=;;;;;;;
Here's a few tips for others who're feeling it too and want to minimize it:
1) Always play online on the weekends.
Not gonna lie, im burnt out for a while.. 3 GP's i completed them 100% but now its losing the fun for me.. Im not even gonna finish the Nina GP
You lasted a bit longer. I burned out midway the Spyro GP, and now I can't get myself to start again even though I'm still interested.

@@internet2055 can you stop replying the same on every comment?
I was thinking of a Month in and Month out the situation:
So for Every Even-Numbered Month and Bimonthly, (February, April, June, August, October and December) should be Grand Prixs.
and for every Odd-Numbered Month and Bimonthly (January, March, May, July, September and November) should be when there isn't a Grand Prix.
I can see that for even someone as myself who now has school is starting to struggle in finding time to play some CTR other than playing it on the Weekends.
At least half a month's gap between seasons would have been way more tolerable than how we've got it now.
I could see that if they increased the amount of content in the Grand-Prix to make up for the gap.
I'd be significantly happier if they did the following:
- Give a break of about 2-3 weeks between each GP so that I can play my other games/live my life
- Include 3-4 of each item in the pit stop each day instead of limiting it to one item per section (ie: instead of having just one character unlockable at a time, have a selection of 4 so you have a higher chance of spawning a specific character unlockable each day)
- Increase the nitro point rate per race. Currently, you only get something like 7 nitro points per race if you've got a 50% nitro boost in offline races. If they even amped that up to 20 points per race, that would make me feel less pressured into checking off all my daily challenges if I don't have the time to do them all in a day
Don't get me wrong, coming from playing WoW for years, I am completely fine with grinding dailies and weeklies, but when the game feels too much of a grind, and too time-sensitive, I struggle to balance the game with my IRL life.
The only reason why I playing this game again is because of the Engine swap feature
Yup, the characters and skins/kart customization is definately the best thing about the game. After that is the driving mechanic. Honestly i just wished everything in the game was unlockable instead of having to purchase it in the pit stop. Legendary skins would be really hard to get but very rewarding.
I don't know is anyone else has commented on this, but yes:
Motosport Tawna is available in the pit shop (got her today).
They didn't add wumpa time on offline, they added weekend bonus only.
I can't agree with you more enough. Evrything you wrote about, you are Right !
I'm still not burnt out. Loved it on release, love it now, and will continue to love it
I was incredibly burnt out after the Halloween Grand Prix and didn’t come back to the game until they were all finished. The obligation to play every day in boring ways for the challenges and with the frustration of playing online just made it no longer fun. They should’ve took November off. Samuel Johnson And you should stop being a sensitive freak all the time and let people appreciate their favorite characters.
@@Tatolus Yeah, exactly, those just feel annoying...

I hope the whole GP will end or atleast take a break, sorry to saying this but I'm getting sick of it, again do not get me wrong, it's amazing all the content they are putting into the game, but to be honest... I hope the GP will end soon, I feel we have enough content for the game.
There can never be too much content
My idea for the Nitro Bar: Once Beenox eventually decides to no longer introduce new Grand Prixs, have Encore Grand Prixs in rotation.
Gg indeed
One new things they've added that I love is the more accurate matchmaking based on your skill level. You're now matched with people who are more or less as good as you are and it makes the races so much closer and more intense. When I started playing, I was pretty consistently coming in last place and that gradually built up to the point where I was winning almost every race I played and by a pretty big margin. It kind of got boring being way out in front of everyone.
Now, it's seems just as likely I'll come first as I will come last. There's no way to predict the outcome of a race and it's just pure chaos from start to finish.
Sorry not gonna happen. How do you monetize the game if everything is available at all times. It is activision after all.
I kinda do, cuz im so done with the online servers problem.

Which burns people out
Not me! I play this game pretty consistently. I love the game so much 👍🏻. I understand if people want to move on tho
I was burnt out after the first two weeks. Being the better player and losing to random pickups being spammed was enough for me to quit it.
Ever since they got rid of all the warp orbs and clocks, whoever is in first stays there the rest of the game.
It doesn't help that the orbs and clocks affect everyone else too, so if 1st place has a shield, those two items just wind up furthering the gap between 1st and everybody else...
@@excalibur493 first place shouldnt even get shields
The only reason this game is getting old for me is because on switch it is actually hard to find a game and half the time when we finally do we get disconnected or the host leaves the devs need to fix online in order to make more people come back and make switch a good and smoothly run console for the game also custom lobbies Nat types on switch half the time we cant go in custom lobbies but I don't agree with the people saying they don't want constant grand prixs seriously that's the thing making me come back to the game and the amazing tracks of course they have such a good game I don't want them to ruin it
We have plenty of time to collect the unlockables. My sister doesn't have a job and I'm a school bus driver, so I get several hours off each day between 8:30 and 12:30, plus the entire evening off.😉
When you're driving the bus, you go full on Blue Fire even with the kids inside??
@@GuilhermeSilva-hr3zb Wish I could, but none of these roads have any super turbo pads.
@tasos orfas doesn't matter cosmetics are still in ways manipulative to people that don't have the time and children.
They should change every day which items are supporting nitro bar. So you don't have to use same items the whole month to get moere rewards.
You were saying about the motorsport Tawna I actually have her skin in my pit stop currently. So yes, most to everything returns
DragonBlaze X activision wants you to think it’s optional, all it does is make the lazy idiots who can’t play the game get items, which is dumb, it could also make people desperate for items, so they buy, trash like you is the reason activision keeps doing this
@@redbool1115
On the contrary, all it does is making the actual items harder to get for non paying players
If there was no microtransaction you can bet that the coing gain from offline were much higer and the cost of items were much lower
For how it is now, getting coins without paying the PS Plus is stupidly slow and it's an insane grind just to get scraps from the pit stop, and lets not talk about those 7k to 10k item bundles, they are farr away from reach
TheMetalOverlord oh funny that, I actually grinder for the 9k bundle, that’s the thing, people who don’t grind for the items don’t deserve them, period. Micro transactions are dumb and need to be removed but who am I kidding it’s activision
the online servers suck and im not getting enough coins to keep up with everything in the shop i stay in 1-3 place each match but after 3 games im getting 80 coins and simple stickers is 2400 tokens smh
and i LOVE how fast were getting new content but im simply just not earning enough without paying for coins
You can put 7 laps for a longer training, but I agree with you about Infinite Laps, that would be interesting to see..
@@toddb.9497 I more meant by yourself like time trials
@@x1_n_only_jtm_ ooh like infinite lap, but you are alone and no bonuses... I totally agree with you then ^^'
They had a mode like that in Crash Nitro Kart called Fast Lap, or something like that.
That was one thing I was talking about. I was hoping the Grand Prix events were going to be something like "quarterly", "seasonal", or "holiday" tailored. The back to back stuff is like "bro, I got other games I wanna play".
Really digging your suggestions about the Legacy slot and rotating nitro bars
That way I don't have to worry about going online; since I'm more of a solo player (unless I'm playing with a friend).
and what about people who don´t have the time to get in the top 5% schold they not get the champion kart, and maybe the decals at some point?
i played avidly for the first two GP's, but it is SUCH a grind and there isn't enough changes to really make such a grind feel worthwhile.

I still playing CTR I love this game alot.
Me too.
Me too.
Same, I still enjoyed the game and grinding for wumpa coins. I'm halfway in emptying the pit stop.
Well im very annoyed from the bad online modue
Not really that bad. Just needs to have it so that when one person leaves, the whole match doesn't disappear.
The PitStop only exist because of microtransactions. This is by far the worst part of the game
I mean without the MTX we wouldn't have as much content.

Yes im burnt out. I force myself to play the bare minimum because I want to have all the unlocks. I've spent 150+ hours on the game since it came out how could I not be burnt out
I've Spent Just about or more hours than you have, And I'm not burned out, Probably cause I'm a hardcore crash fan Lol
Im not burned out at all, I still love the Game To death
What are you talking about? The circuits aren't gone. And they definitively appear in online mode.
This is exactly why I don't play these types of games.
I wish that online racing had options. For example : single race or Cup Race. I know you can do battle and all that but im tired of doing 3 laps and boom back to lobby with more waiting. A cup option would be awesome!
I'm done. I uninstalled it cause i know i'm vulnerable to these types of predatory monetization.

I'd say a way of getting the Nitro Bar items post-Grand Prix is this:
Grand Prix ends, your Nitro Score is locked in for the Championship table as usual.
WE JUST WANT NO ITEMS RACES GOD DAMN IT
This Grand Prix is absolutely brutal for me this time round i missed the first and as a guy who wants a completionist sorta thing there is soooo much wumpa coins i need to earn i need to get 75.5k wumpa coins the remainder of this month(that's after purchasing ton of stuff already) in order to get everything from twilight wheels to spooky skins. It's pretty much burnt me out i even ask my friends when they come over to do my online racing on weekends haha.
I straight out refuse to buy coins never going to happen.
I simply don't enjoy online in this game.
Oh! And I hope for...
- Future Grand Prixes
- Veteran Racers like Yaya Panda & Fake Velo
- New racers like Elora, Bianca, & Cynder
- More karts like Team Velo (CNK Boss Kart) & the rest of the Tag Team Racing cars (Ex: Yellow Horde; Angsterator; Overcompensator; Zwergato; Der Pickle; Guzzler; Bad Girl)
