- South Park: Snow Day! reviewed by Travis Northup on PC, also available on Xbox and PlayStation.
We know exactly what a great South Park game can look like, and South Park: Snow Day! couldn’t be farther from it. I’m a huge fan of throwing out the rulebook to try something completely fresh, especially in this age of samey sequels and forever live-service games that increasingly play it safe. But this bold attempt at a new direction misses the mark so drastically I’m aghast at just how sideways things went. Whether it’s due to the thoroughly unenjoyable combat or the uncharacteristically toothless and unfunny story, I can’t recommend anyone waste their time on this cooperative lost cause - even my fellow die-hard South Park fans.

If Matt and Trey would just get a competent dev team to make a Simpson Hit and Run style game where we can fully explore and immerse ourselves into South Park, they would sell a billion copies.
Literally the first thing that comes to mind is a gta3 style garage with glass doors and you break em down and inside is Mr.Garrisons gyro thing. Imagine driving that😂😂

Generally criticism is reserved for the review. Can you imagine seeing a first look of a movie or game and during that preview someone says "So, this looks like a pile of crap, what do you have to say?". They wouldn't be invited back for anymore sneak previews AND fans would complain that they crapped on something before seeing or playing the finished product.
To be fair, this game never looked that great in the first place.

It’s not so much their reviews are bad as much as the reviewers sound like interns they got for free from a RUclips comment section. Like that Dan nobody who works for them.

So disappointing. Matt and Trey do like 3 episodes a year. You would think they would have tested this and not let it go on
They do six episode plus two hour long specials. That’s the same length as 10 episodes and is the exact same of content they’ve done since 2013.

There’s literally only 5 levels and you can finish the whole game in a day. It’s really not that interesting of a game. Reviewer got it right this one
Its kind of ironic that it's kind of the same style of game as the N64 one which was renowned for being hated
The N64 games were FPS, a cart racer, and a trivia game. This is a 3rd person roguelike. The only similarity is the South Park ip lol
Pretty sure they said they wanted this to be a smaller rougelite game rather than a large multi hour RPG and the game is meant to be replayed over and over like binding of Isaac and Hades
Yes, but Isaac and Hades have a lot more diversity to warrant the replayability

One person at IGN had fun with a preview. Usually in a preview state, they would expect there to be more content, maybe more diverse content. Plus that preview wasn’t without its problems. Now that the full product is out, those issues are glaring. How many times has it happened, where a preview seemed like it was gonna be at least decent, and ended up not being decent? Should everyone at IGN review the same game now? This game looks mediocre at the very best

For the price point I'm enjoying and they already said they made it the way they did so they can keep adding content to it so it's going grow were going to get seasons as well as content based off future episodes so like they marketed it as some triple A game like most do these days that have lack of content

They could've easily made another great game with the same mechanics and gameplay like they've been using over the last decade, they could've used the black Friday storyline and expand on that, or Randy's weed farm, etc.
Haven't played the game yet but if it really is as bad as people say im really hoping matt and trey eventually do make that 3rd rpg to make up for us cus this is honestly really disappointing.
Give it a go. Hardcore South Park fan here, loving it so far & they 3D style actually works the more you play.

Why doesn’t it make sense? It’s not exciting, but Madden is a competent game that achieves what it’s trying to achieve. This on the other hand is a disaster that fails to provide interesting gameplay and fails to honor its source material

They could have made sooooo many DLC's for the last game, what a shame this is what we got instead.
imagine this being south park filling their ”quota”* of only about roughly 10 episodes a year (in terms of how long they are), and 5 hours being about 10 episodes (not really as they’re 22 minutes, but I’m gonna go off the 30 min airtime) and such we won’t get a new season or specials this year
*ever since the specials became a thing the numbers of episodes per season have been 6, and then 2 specials which are about 2 episodes in length each, meaning we still get the 10 episode length but just in another, mixed format

Idk why everyone thought this was gonna be on par with the other games when both stick and fractured were made by triple A game studios and this was made by an indie studio with only two small games under their belt neither in the genre this game is. Plus they specifically said for months this game was NOT a sequel to stick and fractureds RPG gameplay and framework, and now that its here everyones acting surprised like they didnt tell you this was a for fun project months ago

....every other review has it scored at an avg of 6... IGN gave is a 3. I might not trust this review since the vast majority was not even CLOSE to being a 3 on thier review.
Trust me a 3 is about what this game is for people that played the last 2 south park games if you not played them 2 and only play this one then yea people will give it a average score but from the last 2 games this is a 3 for sure nothing what people wanted for the next series it not even written by terry or matt so a intern probably did it as it shows.
The tell-tell sign for me was seeing the price of $30
The Fractured butt Whole had a DLC with a challenge mode. It was 1 of the 3 options in the DLC. That challenge mode was longer and more fun then this entire game. For context: The whole game takes as long as 1/3 of the DLC of FBW. What a let down and disappointment. For $29.99, this game is WAY over priced for what it delivers. If you really want to play this game, wait sometime. You will see the price drop down to under $10. Rating: 2/10. It got a 2 bc playing with friends is fun for about 20mins. Then its just repetitive and boring given the limited stages, weapons and abilities.
