- Outpost: Infinity Siege reviewed by Travis Northup on PC.
Outpost: Infinity Siege takes some pretty big swings with its mishmash of ideas, and succeeds at a surprising number of them - whether it's the insanely dense RPG mechanics, its tight FPS gunfights, or its open-ended base-building options. It certainly doesn’t stick the landing everywhere, with a dreadful story, overly grindy and RNG-driven progression, and levels that become monotonous and predictable after a few visits. But even so, I found myself gladly sinking dozens of hours into a delightfully weird and unpolished adventure that’s unlike anything I’ve ever played before. Not everyone is going to have the patience to learn the sometimes incoherently complicated systems required to get the most out of Infinity Siege, but those willing to make the effort are in from a very good time.

Trailer: Massive Tower Defense + A bit of shooter!
Reality: Here is your gun. Go spend tens of hours playing Escape from Tarkov with it. Tower? Only when you extract.
Yeah... If they cut out the looting portion, which seems to just be a boring grind, and focused in on the base defense, including mazing and other ways of manipulating the enemy, ala Sanctum, the game would be leagues better.
@@catbert7 It's like asking the game a starting character with max level base and guns. LOL you people
No this is literally like deep rock galactic but with more features and open area
It is just an indie game studio. they have succeeded in making an enormous game!
nope, it's talentless lazy amateur devs doing an asset flip. Just like palworld.
atleast its 100% better thn the day before@@evolicious
Scale and how ambitious it was so be executed well. That means a lot. Again W for mix-genre
thats like saying this turd is better than a bigger turd. clown
@@evolicious but it works lol
It gives you exactly what it advertises. No pleasant nor unpleasant surprises. You upgrade walking base, get loot, upgrade walking base., get loot, repeat.
This seems like the type of game that would be amazing after a few updates and expansion packs like No Mans sky
@@user-iq6gp8qo8b the devs have consistantly been updating the game and adding in nice new features here and there. As a proof of concept game its legitimately very refreshing, if it ever gets a more polished sequel it would be a hell of a game. Ive probably enjoyed this game more then playing the likes of diablo4 call of duty etc. every dev is copying one another to make the best or atleast commercially successful game, while lightning studio have made something completely refreshing and its amazing.
Outpost: Infinity Micromanagement
😂for real
The score is 7
Thanks bro
Legend
Thanks bro

Love you
This is honestly the most accurate and agreeable review. The devs are definitely working on things fast and have already implemented at least 4 patches since release. Twice in the first day. It's mostly negative on steam due to some issues with certain hardware but everything else is true.
Game: 7/10
AI girl: 10/10
The thing about this game is that it was shown off as just the tower section. Originally, it was probably just another survival crafter, but they eventually realized that it didn't have that much substance that way, and then we ended up with this, where most of the content was the product of a delay.
This pulls me back to the 90s when the devs did their own voice acting!!!!
It's actually as far from that as you can get, since it's AI-acted ;p
@@catbert7
bad acting is bad 🤷♂ who knew
@@catbert7really? Ai voice acting sounds much better than this, this is clearly developer acted
Nice review TieGuy.
ign should bring back 0.5 pts in ratings, some games deserve 6,5, some derserve 7,5 but they usually give them both a 7
IGN should just remove scores so that people actually digest the content of the review rather than looking for a single number to point at.
The darn 1-10 score system is already pointless in more ways than one, there is no pint in adding .5's to the mix. people get too caught up in the numbers as it is. Personally, the review system that rev3games had just before they closed was by far the best but if a score needs to be numbered then 1-5 would be fine.
Looks fun.
Looks like the game isn't fully translated 7:30 top right
Truth. And it’s got tons of typos and grammatical errors for sure.
The upcoming updates can even smooth out the robots movements and better loot acquistion.
Pros: It's Fun, PVE, Base Building, etc.
Cons: It's Grindy and Horrendous Story.
+ Horrible voice acting lines
@@Nybisremind me of early japanese game. With funny voice acting and wacky story.
but seems like a better helldivers, waht do u think?
So like Battlezone ?
It is trying to be a suspicious number of things at once! o_O
they only have to make the Tour part exciting and this is an instant modern classic. as it is now still fun
can you play the main campaign in coop?
yes
Yeah, you gotta get through a few missions solo, then multiplayer unlocks
thats not "massive waves" of enemies that was shown in the trailer, co-op progress not shared, unstable and you give it a 7, it probably closer to a 5
Unstable?, I've crashed once. Massive enemy waves are real. They're at the end...
So truu to what you just say you giving you sumn light knowledge
@@zeloth7or in endless mode
The score is IGN
only if they replaced robots with zombies, it would have been great. Sort of Dying light but with massive tower defense and strategies.
For its price, it’s still better than some of these AAA games at$70
7GN strikes again
How much you give to this game?
@@HenryTownsmyth probably a 6
@@SpeedCap_drawsProbably? Have you played it otherwise you shouldn't give a score at all?
@@messiahshow tbh the game its max a 4/5 out of 10, and prolly most of the people that will test the game will refund it before they reach the 2 hrs after they see the low quality production of the prologue
I'd be an 8 for people who doesn mind a gameplay driven game.
Been waiting for this. I'll give it a shot in coop with a friend
Well how was it?
starfield walked so outpost infinity could fly
The screen clutter is concerning.
because modern aaa games don't have that issue
turn it off
its really not that bad in game
Accessible option UI maybe
Infinity Seven
Looks like the Sanctum games
Food Analogy - The Review
Cannot imagine playing this kind of game for 60+ hours
People play Bloons for thousands
Had never heard of this game before: I'm 40 hours in and have barely scratched the surface. It's awesome.
Ngl, this looks way more fun that Starfield.
Yea, much more creative loop. I'm gonna give this a try.
Starfield still living rent free, eh?
This is literally open area deep rock galactic
Is this multiplayer?
online coop
The voice acting is understandable given the game was made by Chinese company. Its probably not planned for Eng voice acting anyways.
kfc and taco bell catching strays 😂
33% on Steam reviews right now.
IGN still uploading 1080p videos like its 2012
so true
Yeah it's annoying haha
Shut up dude
@@bronzin1445
looks mushy when you full screen it on a 4k or 1440p monitor
It doesn't need to be any higher than 1080 lmao.
Not that it matters much in PVE, but is there some sort of auto snap to nearest enemy going on in game or on the reviewers end?
Kinda looks weird as he snaps from one enemy to another while looking down the sights, instead of having the usual COD slow XY movement when looking down sights, requiring you to release the aim button move and then click again to shoot with more accuracy. Or is this an aimbot situation?
Why is this in 144p ? and not 4 k ?
Howdy!
Wow this looks great!

This looks interesting
ign says the story is bad but they gave a 7
Its stupidly fun
epilepsy - the game
Helldivers 2 reigns supreme.
It’s not a competition
don't be that kind of Helldiver.... spread Democracy not hate towards other games
It certainly showed up the gaming industry, but this is a poor comparison. Halo Infinite is the perfect comparison bc they could've been way more successful w more co-op focus, since Halo 5 completely dropped that ball and caused that studio to hemorrhage, and then Infinite's launch was just salt in the wound.
7/10
looks like what Destiny 3 would look like.
Battlestar ? Is that you ?
best game ever
The game is not 20$
It's 25
They gave a 7, my imo is like 7,5 with some fixes
So 7?
7??????? IGN: the place where you dont go if you wanna get reviews.
Helldivers from Temu
Why all you people run permanently and nervously like mice ?
is it overhyped?
Messed up key bindings, messed up co-op, constant crashes even on high end machines especially those with 4000 gpu series and many more.
Ign score 7.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
7
That title doesn't get my hype. Just sounds like a grind to nowhere.
They gave it a 7
Why does it looks like you are using an aimbot? Is aimassist really that sticky?
is this fps helldivers?
7gn
Why not just make a top-down tower defense game?
I'll play this when it goes FTP!!!..
Won't ever. Small studio
or you could pirated, then if you liked, buy it to support the small studio that made it or play it "FTP" because you didn't like it or wallet can't handle because your country is in economic recession
First
Game requires you to have more than 2 braincells, that's why this jurno is so pissed about it.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Did you count how many "Cores" are there in this game? ;)
Hey ign! This video requires an epilepsy flash warning. That flickering pink hair of AI hologram chick almost gave me an attack!
Ah yes. Helldivers at home.
Ngl this is nothing like Helldivers
Review Granblue Fantasy: Relink (RPG) before doing any more reviews IGN. The fact you skipped this game is a slap to gaming
They reviewed it a month ago and it looks mid AF
obviously you don't really care about the review since it's been up this whole time.
That game feels more like a mobile game that anything else. Telling the story arc of different characters through still images with voice-over is beyond lazy.
Yeah, it’s a 7, but _why_ is it a 7?
You try watching the video?
@@typicalsloth2716 But IGN is never clear about why they give it a 7.
@@maxkliegl1951 Literally everything in the video that’s said besides the title of the game and what it’s played on, are points and reasonings for why the game got that grade
> skips entire review to look at score
> wonders why it got that score
❓
Sounds just like helldivers 2
nuh uh. these guys had waifus
More like a mix of Sanctum 2 and X-Morph Defense
It's been in production for 3 years...
It seems like another Palworld kitbash of random Unreal store assets.
Dont choke on envy
titanfall ripoff
This entire review sounds like a man that's just fed up with life and hating on everything for little to no reason. Right from the start he hated it without even giving a chance. Why do we consider this a "review"? Why does anyone bother with IGN anymore? Reviews used to be so much better and actually mean something. Now it's all comparisons to everything else and just pure prejudice hate.
Lmao this is wild, the only thing he properly bashes is the story. He praises most of it. Saying he’s biased when you’re clearly more biased against the review is wild
Zero recoil… zero skill
its not a multiplayer shooter lol. its not competitive lmao.
snapping to nearest enemy looks like an aimbot or no slowdown when looking down sights for better accuracy too, which doesn't matter much PVE but just looks strange to my COD brain.
Wow, you are utterly not able to speak out criticism about a product. Some other journalists review this game very repetetive and in that process boring and unbalanced, hence a loop. Not a single honest word from you. It sounds a bit like like a little issue, but not how long you need to loot, or how often the upload takes place in the gaming time. You just pack these problems into a totallly differentperspective and it doesn't sound annoying anymore. You all just sold your integrity!
controller support?
