Game dev is from China. No wonder the voice lines read and sounds proverb-ish, as it is with other Chinese games. I will still play it regardless of how cheesy the storyline is since the game's loaded with great gameplay features.

The voice lines also suffer in quality as a result of Chinese Languages and English being so different from each other. The Original Voice lines and voice actors are likely better than the English versions by factors of ten.

Very polite of the robots to orbital-drop their units in front of all your guns and fortifications instead of just on top of whatever you're defending.

I really haven't found another FPS/RTS as good as Sanctum, in the decade + since that game was made. This doesn't look like quite the same thing - focused on a central point rather than running around the map and mazing - but it does have what Sanctum did not, which is other people and an engaging set. Story is obviously lazy and nonsensical but ya can't win um all. The enemies and attack paths will have to get more dynamic though. A bunch of blobs just trundling toward you from one direction is super lame.
Will have to see what the later-game is like but love it so far!

When I was like 16, I had the idea to make a multi-player base defense game.
Where 2 teams would fight, 2 rounds..
You build your own base, and weapons,
And there's RNG that assigns a commander on each side, and that's the bases that are fought over.
Round one side a attacks b defends
Round 2 a defends b attacks
It's entirely about communication, strategy, and how you build and customize your base and weapons and vehicles
Could be 1v1 with bots
Or whatever
@@eastindiaV when fortnite was first coming around this is what I thought it would be. I didn't play it much but I always wanted them to do exactly this or like big team battle with 50 v 50. First 5 mins can't attack other side so you go, gather and build a base to protect a flag. Then after 5 mins border opens and battle is on.

There is something to that vein with Starcraft 2 custom modes, Zerg Wars where both teams are defending tower defense style and sabotaging the enemy team so they die faster , various other types where 1 team is defending and other is attacking exist as well.
@@majormajorasic I think the evolution of it will be forcing players to build and defend their own base in first person, which teaches tactics. (Kinda like what fallout 76 should have been)

Mixed reviews on Steam, game could be good but it needs more polish than is realistically expected.
I'm not usually into tower defense type games but this actually looks pretty legit.
I do have to admit this actually looks fun to play. Truth is I’ve never played something of this style of hybrid. Am a fan of first person shooters, and RTS and the fact that they made one that combined both kind of got me excited as I’m watching this video. 😂

This game is worthy of your time. It is actually really good, but hidden beneath bad reviews given by impatient people, in my opinion. The start is really slow and the game is restrictive at first and confusing as the way it unfirls is not well thought through or realised and some things seem lost in translation (mandarin), but once you orientate yourself and unlock the base areas and some schematics, boy does it ramp up! Have you seen the endgame gameplay? It is insane! Those trailers did not lie. If you think the game sucks at the start, you aren't wrong, but keep going... you will realise the genius and be rewarded.
Gotta hand it to the music. And it has a very rare ability to make truly lived in locations. They felt alive. That's not common.

I’ve played other FPS tower defense games, decent genre and this looks pretty good.
Is there a way to use the Chinese audio with English subs, highly doubt the original script had a commander say his commanding officer threw a "tantrum" the gameplay looks outstanding, just hope they redo the voice acting.

If they can recover the control cores but it takes 6 months to build a new outpost to even use the darned cores then it's better for them from a logistics standpoint to keep as many outposts operational instead of retrieving the cores and then have them sit around for 6 months collecting dust.

Graphically it looks good, (at least I thought that until watching the guns fire and realized that it just looks like repeating laser blast jpegs, obnoxiously large tracers and massive screen clutter) but the sound design is awful, voice acting is bad (if it’s not just ai) and the combat AI looks really rough. If this were early access I could understand. But they tout it as finished and yet as of the last reviews the final boss isn’t even in the game yet, they’re waiting for the next update to actually finish the story line. Should be early access
Thye took Borderland gameplay (which is taken from so many inspirations) and made into a mech game with baller graphics.
20:30 I love how the developers put in so much time and effort to give the outpost a lived-in, battle-weary feel by writing and voicing individual conversations and backstories for so many of the soldiers you encounter on your way to the CIC. But then Raptor is just like "Not my problem, nothing to do with me, oh that's cool but I don't care... I'll just ignore that and go where the objective marker is sending me."
Try battlezone 2, u will love it, one of my favorite childhood games ❤

lol yes i would have a better impression of the game if there wasn’t any voice acting, like others are saying. it all sounds insincere as hell. i’m not sure why they think they need constant chatter to begin with. at the same time there is a high quality to some of the elements that make it uncanny

This game is awesome and yeah the beginning and voice acting is baaaad, feels like 15 years old game. But later when you get to higher difficulties it gets much better. Lots of stuff to research, gun modding is cool and the base building can get pretty crazy you can build some monster bases. Game is awesome in coop also. And they patching the game constantly.

Ι wouldn't call it incredible. Too repetitive, too much grinding and it crashes. I think this game is a mess but the idea is wonderful.
It's never crashed once for me, amd power user here, even when I'm in an endgame lobby and it's lagging to hell and I get 10+ seconds of input lag, I don't even DC. There's loads of room for improvement though, is your rig out of date? You got 32gigs of ram? More than 6cores in CPU?
@@Vihara2 The game is really bad on optimization. My computer is slightly old, but even on low settings it still lags and have quite a bit of graphical glitches. It does crash on me during cut scenes when loading character models in.
I'd just say you haven't played it enough. There are ways to bypass grind. It's very fun and I feel I'm nowhere near done at 50+ hours so far. The game is like a 8 or 9 out of 10 for me. It just hits so many sweet spots.
@@christianzilla well 'im 19 hours in right now, but still much grinding and same maps with the same loot locations. It's a neat game, one of a kind and probably i'm gonna play many more hours but it certainly isn't a 8 or 9 for me. Also I got a good rig and the game is very unoptimized so far, and I have had 2 crashes at 19 hours. I never had any game crashes except maybe Bioshock remastered collection (which was a mess).

I also play every other title in 1080p on ultra (maybe with lowered shadows on very heavy games like DCS or Cyberpunk) so no, 99.9% it's on their end not mine, it is badly optimized and others have the same issues on steam with even better rigs. It's a nice little game, but it needs big improvements everywere. What's your specs if you don't mind?

Just the weapon animations, mechanics, and bullet physics are enough to earn the game a skip almost immediately.
Weapon recoil looks/feels nothing like that. Doesn't matter how much sci-fi you throw at it. It's a silly animation.
Bullets dont travel at 20 m/s.

Game has had 7-8 patches since it droped all of which have been major improvements. Story is very cringe worthy for its script and voice acting though.
