Our region has endured countless invasions and wars, which have shaped our complex identity. Even today, external powers attempt to divide us for their own interests. In light of this history, it’s clear that the situation is far more nuanced than many people might assume. At the end of the day we are all human and should strive to collaborate and create a better world for everyone with more LOVE and less hate.
Macedonians are definitely not Bulgarians now, but until 1945 they all were Bulgarians, used Bulgarian language and writing system and had Bulgarian names. This is the cause of their identity crisis, not the name of the state.

There are 3 Macedonians today, North (Vardar) Macedonia with Skopje as the capital, South (Aegean) Macedonia with Thessaloniki as capital, and Eastern (Pirin) Macedonia. Historical and linguistics facts suggest Greeks and Bulgarians are not Macedonias, nor Macedonians are Greeks and Bulgarians - Macedonians are a separate entity with continuity. You can impede history, which is what Bulgarians and Greeks are doing, but you can't stop it: In time, all 3 will unite into one, called Macedonia, with Skopje as its capital, or another capital.
