Pentatonic means 5 and so to play pentatonic, we play 5 notes of the scale. It usually corresponds to do-re-mi-so-la notes of any scale. When you play any combination of these notes they always sound good no matter what order we play them. They are perfect for improvising, meditation and just simply playing when ever we feel like without having to think but rather just play from how we are feeling. :)

They are both solid Mahogany body. The thin spruce wood that is put on the top is very commonly used for boxed instruments like guitars and ukuleles and even soundboards for some harps. It acts to provide more resonance. This allows the boxed lyre to sound a bit louder than the hollow ones. I do love the mellow sound that the hollow lyre produces.
As always such a lovely happy cheerful smile makes my day watching you play individual Lyre Harps I’m still conflicted in which one to choose stay happy and thank you

On the Cega, It would take away from the spacing. Unfortunately the manufacturer uses the same body and just try to fit in as many strings as they can. This is a downside for playing if using harp method where we have to place fingers and play, not so much of an issue for glide and guitar picking.
I play my 19 string quite a bit and really enjoy it. I'm in Canada so I don't know what's available in other countries and where to find them. Hopefully you can find something suitable for your need. ❤
It all depends on the type of music you want to play and technique. More strings allows us to play more melodic songs. I like to play hymns, love songs and compose Melodies so I prefer the ones with more strings.
Hello, I'm looking to buy a lyre harp with more strings, I play a 16-string lyre harp, the two lyre harps in your video have a beautiful sound, but I saw that the molin has several problems, can you tell me if the lyre harp Cega also have these same problems? How are they after years?
@@Anastasia_Lune My Cega and Aklot lyres are still good to this day day. Keep in mind that most of the 19 and more strings are strung the opposite way to the 16 string lyres so this will take some getting used to. They are string the same way as a harp with the high notes at the top/close to the body.
I have tried most of them. My go to methods right now are finger picking and glide method because I think it suits the lyre better. I like strumming as well but my lyres don't suit this type of playing still doable but I do like playing melodies more. 🌸
I am so sorry. I read this completely wrong, you are asking if I have tried the lyre methods on my harp. Yes I have. The chord strumming works well on harps. DHC likes to use this too and showed how to do this on her Baroque Flamenco challenge which was so much fun. Glide method works as well but not as effective on the harp as it is on the lyre because of the string spacing. Guitar picking works too, but we would get the looks for employing incorrect technique and definitely get comments about needing to learn correct finger techniques. I got that when I played one of the hymns and accidently played it using guitar picking after a longer pause playing just my lyre. Kora method will not work on harps. 💗

There are quite a few members that have similar issues that might be able to help with suggestions if you post a question. Laurie Riley, I believe also does consultations to help with adapting techniques to help with pain. I have mild tendonitis so I am very careful with how I play and for how long as I don't like it to flare up but I'm sure this is nothing compares to what you have.
Did you have any problem with tuning not holding? My Molin is very unstable after having it for two weeks and tuning every day before I play. Strings keep going flat. Not all but some very consistently. Are the pegs not tight do you think? Thank you. Pat
The Molin lyre is the most problematic lyre I have owned. It has lovely tone but won't keep tune. I have fixed the slipping pegs but still have a couple of strings that just won't cooperate so have almost given up on it.
I agree the molin has a nice sound if only it is better made. The problems I had with this instrument persisted to the point that I have given up trying to fix it. It will not stay in tune and the strings are cutting through the wood. Others in the FB group have had similar issues. Such a shame because it does have a beautiful tone. I wish it is better quality
Sorry I can’t make any recommendations for India as I don’t know what all the types and brands available there. I only share from my experiences and don’t really promote brands.
In my area of the world it’s available from Amazon. I personally do not recommend this Molin lyre. Although it has a nice tone, and I was so excited to get it, sadly it doesn’t stay in tune and the wood used ends up breaking where the pegs are overtime from the pressure of the strings once it’s set to pitch. I have tried to fix mine many times and have given up on it. To me it’s only good as a decorative item as it’s just not playable. I know of others who has the same issue and that’s why I don’t personally recommend it. If I can find another way to reinforce/fix it I may try again, but for now, it just sadly stays on my bookshelf.

Yea it is suitable for beginners especially if you are thinking of moving up to a chromatic lyre or a harp one day. I love my mine.
