@@lisalyons7381 I'd encourage everyone to not accept the present situation as the new normal. We don't want to live in a total recall 1984 world. Not everyone can take the shot especially if you have substantial allergies or reactions to things like that. I mailed my MM2H application directly to Tourism from the USA in May 19. I received conditional approval while vacationing in Malaysia in Nov 19 and completed the process. I didn't feel particularly "lucky" until I read later that the approval rate at that time was less than 50%. The next batch of applications had a 10% approval rate. Now the program is being "reviewed." I'm back in the USA after an 8-month stay in Malaysia. I'm hoping to get back to my leased apartment in JB early next year. My intent is to live in Malaysia 5-6 months a year unless Malaysia has a different plan for me. Ironically I have reservations to visit Panama in January 21. This video couldn't be more timely.
I bought an apartment in Penang, put 500,000 Ringgit into a time deposit in a Malaysian bank account, and applied for the MM2H in December 2019. And now I can't even visit because of MCO, RMCO, CMCO.
I sense some bias here. What's your problem with Hungary? They don't hate everyone. Wanting to select who can come in is justified, you don't let in anybody who just demands to eat out from your fridge and sleep in your bed. Plenty of Germans and Dutch, Sweds or Chinese moved to Hungary or bought a house there. Stopping certain invaders is justified, just look how many people got killed in some western countries over a stupid cartoon.
Saw another RUclips channel (uploaded hrs ago) coincidentally called Nomadic Movement and they just reported their Panama application has collapsed so it looks like it is already in the process of being withdrawn
@Gavin Claassen Well in my case it is close to London (where I currently live). I speak passable French and my fiancee has a job offer there. We recently spent 2 months there and I didn't actually find the prices that terrible. We don't "fine dine" often and regular groceries are similarly priced to the neighbouring French regions. Parking and charging an electric car is free in Monaco (and there is up to a €10,000 rebate on new EVs). Housing is obviously a major consideration but I've house-hacked for years and would be similarly reducing housing costs there too. What I still need to figure out is how exactly it works to become tax resident there as a European as well as how to structure my business dealings in the UK.
@Gavin Claassen you’re welcome Gavin 😊 you’re totally right about the costs of docking a yacht and property is very expensive (because of the size of the Principality, tax status and demand). Hi Andrew, me back from last time. Another great video to check upon, you are so detailed and honest to speak open the truth, but so sad to hear this because Don't know if these 3 start closing down, more will follow, you know, that's how countries do sometimes, this video makes people to feel nothing else other than the slow creeping in of bureaucracy into a formerly free, (low tax, tax friendly) world. This is certainly not the first time it become harder to find the ever-shrinking international freedom in a world which I feels that not only west is sliding but, bureaucracy, and all that nasty regulations and power consolidating ... eventually works their way and will haunt your doorstep. How do you feels, leave some comment if you like
Authoritarianism and bureaucracy are increasing everywhere in the world simultaneously, and it appears this will only accelerate in the future. China is likely emboldened by the US elections (can’t help but feel they played a hand in this chaos), and will not only have a much freer hand in Asia/Pacific, but will resume undermining the West. Technological advancements only serve to increase control of populations and decrease freedoms. Wealth Inequality is rising worldwide as well, which naturally causes social disruptions. I’m afraid the world we know and love has changed, and will only grow darker for the foreseeable future

They tried this before in Panama, they want you to invest in real estate from 200K and up. It comes from the realtors, they tried it before and failed. Real estate in PC is way overpriced as is, even during the pandemic they wouldn't go down! But let's see what happens, how many pushback the immigration lawyers can give it this time around!
As of July 2020, tourists can only stay in Vietnam a maximum of 30 days. If you have a 90-day visa, you must either exit and re-enter Vietnam every 30 days or visit an immigration office and request permission to stay for another 30 days. Apparently the change was due to too many Chinese in Vietnam. I thought it had to do with online gambling, but military-age men makes sense too.
Malaysia and Thailand and to a lesser extend Cambodia have been a few countries I've been researching into recently but I was looking at it in terms of buying a property as opposed to just putting money in a bank and getting residency. I came to the conclusion that Thailand is the better option at least for those without deep pockets because in Malaysia it seems that their minimum property value for foreigners to buy is quite high whereas in Thailand it is a lot lower and I know they have an oversupply. If Malaysia is now going to increase the amount of capital you need for residency as well then that's a shame. Malaysia does seem like a pretty cool place in South East Asia.
I submitted MM2H application in Sept. 2018 and got approval in June 2019.
