I have loved all 5 parts. I am from the US so this is so much fun to see your country through your eyes. I'll never get to England, but this is my vitural visits. Thank you.
Hi Sam, I’m from the US so I am really enjoying these videos very much. It is so nice to see the different locations and different shops you are discovering. I feel like I’m experiencing all these lovely places through you 😁. Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together.
Another lovely video that I am enjoying, thanks ❤ I live in Hythe so thank you for visiting, it is a lovely town and the Sewing Space is a great shop and Clare is really helpful.
I've really enjoyed touring Kent with you. If I ever get the opportunity to road trip around England a bit, I'm going to come back to these videos for some ideas on where to visit. Until then, visiting vicariously through you is great fun. I live in Virginia, U.S.A., and so many places here are named for English locations. I don't live far from New Kent County, VA, of course, named for Kent. There are many places I'd like to visit simply to see the namesakes of the places I grew up in and around. 🙂
Went to Hythe for the first time this year as my friend has moved there. Next time I’ll look into the sewing workshops. Love your videos thank you ! Giving me lots of sewing inspo ❤
I went to Rye and camber sands last weekend for my birthday and for the first time. I really liked Rye and would go back and yes I did go to merchant and mills. Very much enjoying your vlogs and now want to visit all the Cinque Port towns.
Thankyou SO much for this amazing adventure you’re taking us all on. There is something glorious about the British country side and it captured my heart from my first visit back in 2004. I can’t wait to get back and rummage in antique a some op/charity shops!
I’ve been really enjoying your trips, I used to live in Faversham so it’s so lovely seeing the are again. Thanks for recording your travels and shops! ❤️
I am loving your tour of Kent and the tucked away fabric stores! I’m here in Perth WAust just wishing I was able to join you! Love the buttons! Merchant and Mills is on my bucket list…. I do understand your reasoning… boost the small businesses!!
Do come over the border to Hastings. We have a brand new fabric shop on the seafront called Cloth Control, plus two older established places, Hastings Sewing Centre and Jacobs Haberdashery.
I love these days out, such a treat. Kent is the only area of England ive not explored, each time ive had a plan something major stops it! and now we dont get out of Cornwall. Not complaining its a fantastic county , so to travel with you is great, thank you, and as I have said before many times your sewing adventures bring such a smile to my face. Thanks again
Another Sunday morning trip to England, just love it! It is sad when little towns aren't doing very well. When you mentioned Hythe, i thought, oh i know that town. But the Hythe i knew is in Hampshire, a short ferry ride from Southampton. I'm excited for the next installment. Also I have a huge button collection, I rarely buy new buttons. I love sorting through them all to find the perfect buttons for a project.
Good morning Sam! What a wonderful way to spend my Sunday morning. I'm in the US but I love so much about the UK, and getting to see these, less touristy, areas has been such a treat. My husband and I will be spending our 40th Anniversary in the Birmingham and London area in March. I'm also doing a Fri/Sat sewing retreat at Coombe Abbey while there. But we are too chicken to rent a car and drive on the wrong side of the road (for us), haha, so all our travel will be with public transport which makes it difficult to reach these gems. So keep going please with this type of vlog. I want to see more!!! Thank you for all your hard work, time and funds it takes for you to bring us this content. You are fabulous.
Whitstable might make a good trip. They have a fabric shop,a sewing machine shop and so many charity shops. I was surprised you didn’t go there when you went to Canterbury. I love whitstable. X
Oh goodness! I couldn't agree more about Ashford! 😭 I've known it for nearly 60 years and lived just outside the town for over 30 years..... it's so sad to see the decline.... 😔 But you found the two places that I go to regularly! I much prefer Hythe and really enjoy the fabric shop, even though I'm trying to stop adding to my stash, I still find I've bought something lovely there! Thanks for the fun, can't wait to see more adventures!
Great vlog as always you need to come to Suffolk you can visit 2 shops in Bury St Edmunds then go onto Thetford (just over the border in Norfolk) to Legend fabrics you are most welcome to pop into me for lunch I live in Bury St Edmunds ❤️❤️
Very fascinating, thanks for sharing. I grew up in Tonbridge and we never went further east than Maidstone (for shopping) although we did visit Faversham regularly because my grandmother lived there. Prior to moving away ( I now live on the Isle of Wight) I worked in the World of Sewing in Tunbridge Wells, a family owned business which was established 50 years ago. A brilliant place for all things sewing, including servicing and mending machines. Unfortunately, like Ashford, Tunbridge Wells is not a destination town although the Pantiles at the bottom of the town is lovely. I can’t wait to see where you go next. 🧶🌈🍓💙
I love going to Hythe and The Sewing Space is lovely. There is also a great wool shop that has a good selection of buttons. Another recommendation is Rose 'n' Tony's in Sandwich. They sell Fabric, haberdashery, yarn and numerous other goodies.

I feel the same in reverse ..I would love to visit the US but doubt it will ever happen, so YT is great!
Thank you both. Xx

Thank you for your lovely comment. Several of these places have a train station. You could definitely get to Sevenoaks and possibly Tenterden. Xx
Whitstable might make a good trip. They have a fabric shop,a sewing machine shop and so many charity shops. I was surprised you didn’t go there when you went to Canterbury. I love whitstable. X
I love Whitstable and Hernebay. I used to work in the area. I felt they needed their own epsiode.

And if you go to Sandwich, pop over to Ramsgate to the fabric shop in the main road
Thank you for the suggestion.
Ooh that is a new one to my list too.
You missed the ossuary. Loads of skulls!!
Thank you for the tip
