    I've been working on a covered deck. After some false starts on the cover panels, I settled on Suntuf polycarbonate panels in white from Home Depot. They have a 45% light transmission. I had actually bought opaque colored panels, but after placing some loosely on the roof, I did notice that the deck area seemed rather dark. I returned them. I then almost went with clear panels and accepted that I'd need to hang a shade cloth in the summer, but I was concerned about how long they would last after carefully reading reviews. But, the white panels with 45% light transmission seemed the perfect compromise, and the reviews were really good. Indeed, they do allow plenty of light underneath during cloudy winter weather but, according to multiple reviews, also provides the right amount of shade in sunny weather. I'm really happy with them so far. You might consider them when you eventually replace your clear panels.

      Just to give you an idea, 28 degree is 6.381 in 12 roof pitch. Whereas typical home pitch is usually only 18.4 degrees (4 in 12)

    Excelente trabajo "familiar".
    ¿Qué distancia hay entre las dos columnas existentes?
    ¿Qué dimensiones tienen las dos vigas principales que usaste entre las columnas?
    Además de cambiar las láminas traslúcidas y si tuvieses que hacerlo otra vez
    ¿Qué no harías de nuevo y de que manera lo harías?
    Muchas gracias.

    • @jinhomui7713
      @jinhomui7713  4 года назад +2

      Excellent "family" work. What is the distance between the two existing columns? What are the dimensions of the two main beams that you used between the columns? In addition to changing the translucent sheets and if you had to do it again, what would you not do again and in what way would you do it? Thank you very much.
      Distance between is around 11ft.
      The dimensions of the two main beam is 2x6 which combines to be 4x6.
      I would cut the purlins in a better way. Also, when I glued the 2-2x6 I should have used more clamps to clamp down the beams to make it really tight.
      La distancia entre ellos es de alrededor de 11 pies.
      Las dimensiones de las dos vigas principales son 2x6 que se combinan para ser 4x6.
      Cortaría las correas mejor. Además, cuando pegué el 2-2x6, debería haber usado más abrazaderas para sujetar las vigas para que quede realmente apretado.

    Nice but using those tinted transparent shingles makes your patio super hot, not to mention that they get brittle in just a couple of years.
