- I picked up this Schwarzkopf got2b Metallic Blue Mercury hair dye, and I made the mistake of getting only one box for my super long hair! No problem...as I had some leftover color from my last dye job to cover the ends of my hair. The results are STUNNING!! My favorite blue hair color combo yet. Come along and see if you agree that this blue hair dye variation is a total win. :)

A Raad Yes! I have often done both bleaching and color in the same day...but I strongly suggest not doing that with this product! It is a harsh product, in my opinion... and I believe there is a real possibility that my hair would have started to break off at the roots had I applied bleach and then this color straight away. Being Barton it is a harsh product if you’re going to bleach your hair and dye it the same day I would recommend articfox :) I love them

I used this today to touch up professionally done blue. It had faded to turquoise. I didn't use it on my roots because I actually love the brown against the blue. It worked perfectly, though as you said it was very harsh. I used the supplied conditioner and even reconditioned with my own conditioner, before I was satisfied. I did have to use every bit of 2 containers. Now after reading the comments I'm concerned about fading. Guess we'll see. You look fabulous! It turned out great! Thank you for sharing this video.

@@BeingBarton I washed it 7 days later. Icky. Washed in ice cold water and tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner. I saw almost no fading. I'm three washes in, same method, and it's still holding the color well. It has faded slightly, but not much.

Hi, hairstylist here... great video, but as a suggestion: *_instructions are provided for a reason_* the brand/company has formulated the product with an intended result in mind. Not following or completing the full process as listed... desired results will not be achieved. the smell is the activator...and has no relation to how safe/gentle/healthy it is on your hair. It simply means you're using a semi permanent colour. how the activator/peroxide functions (or purpose) when mixed with colour formula is opening hair cuticle, allow new colour molecules to penetrate hair shaft. funky colours are temporary-- there isn't any oxidizing agents present, colour merely sits or stains the hair.

@@BeingBarton you aren't alone, it's a pretty common thought among folks without formal training. semi-permanent colours are "less" damaging to hair integrity vs. permanent but in all honesty... they're chemicals & are damaging to some degree. Bleaching/lighteners, perms, straightening/relaxers are *thee* harshest of the chemical services to the integrity of hair. If a chemical service is done properly - appropriate products used for each individual -based on their hair condition/type & span of time between services etc.. hair can most certainly retain it's integrity & be "healthy"
I used this same dye last weekend. this is the first time I've washed my hair since dying it and the color has immediately gone from being blue to almost completely washing out to a greenish grey-blonde

I dyed my hair this blue mercury and only my roots came out blue with a few strands in the back the rest was legit grey not like murky ashy blue grey like full on silvery *grey* . It didnt look like I put on blue and it came out wrong it looks like I dyed my damn hair grey

This video was so helpful, thank you!Doing my 16 yr old daughter's hair with the Blue Mercury but attempting highlights first bcuz it's the first time I'm coloring her hair. She's mixed black/white and nervous about having to bleach then color. I knw if I screw it up she'll cry for a month till it grows out! Lol! Figure wld start small & if all goes well with highlights, wld consider full head color change. Didn't read box abt waiting 14 days after bleaching to color! What?!? Omg! She's going to look like a zebra, good thing she's doing virtual school this year. Lol! Thanks again for all the great info, heading out to buy a 2nd box (daughters hair is very long) and that other color u used.

@@BeingBarton Hi, we ended up going to Sally's beauty & getting a large container of lightening powder & liquid developer and then used Ion Brilliance Radient Orchid (plum color) instead. Pulling the hair thru the cap took about an hour. Then the 1st batch of bleaching mixture foamed up like a Bill Nye science experiment 🤣 bcuz I apparently stirred it too much so the right side of her head bleached perfectly and the rest turned burnt orange. Had enough bleaching liquid & powder to do a 2nd time on just the orange hair and left on for 20 min. Worked great! Used some sort of purple conditioner forgot the name but it helped to remove the bright yellow & orange tint in the hair. The color dye was ready to use so didnt hv to mix with anything. It went on very bright almost florescent purple which I loved but turned out plum after rinsing, still a nice color tho. My daughter parts her hair on the side, forgot about this when pulling hair thru cap so ended up w/2 chunky pieces of color on one side. It took me 10 hrs to bleach and color. I forgot to tell my daughter not to wet or wash for 4 days so whn she woke next am she showered and shampooed w/head & shoulders!😱. Luckily none of the color came out, tho it did spread out the color to her remaining hair so now her hair has a nice plum tint color instead of black and her plum highlights still stand out nicely. She wants to try blue next. That adventure will hv to wait a couple of months till the plum fades a little. Tried to get her to let me rinse outside w/hose but she said no way, didn't want neighbors watching. Lol! Typical teenager!

@Suzy Yeah, that waiting period is a trip. It's worth it though...I have gone right from bleaching to coloring with this brand before and it feels like your hair is going to straight up break off. And I have tough hair. On the bright side...manic panic hot pink sounds nice! :)

@@BeingBarton hey there thank you!! I ended up only bleaching a strip of my hair because I figured I was not going to reach a blonde which is exactly what happened (after 2 bleach seshs). I now have a streak of orange on my bottom layer and will probably not use the blue dye at all lol. i went with just a streak bc knowing myself I probably would've just dyed it black again if it didn't come out right. definitely hope to one day rock some nice colors too though :)

i just dyed my hair, actually have the product in my hair right now. this is not my first experience with the got 2b color. i like the amethyst, but they didn't have it when i was there with my $3 coupon so this one looked pretty fancy. rinsing in 5 minutes. i'm excited!

@@BeingBarton I am a cosmetologist who has always kept my natural blonde and ITS OLD so for a dew months I have been coloring it and first I chose a red knowing it wont hold long but when it faded my idea was from the start use that as my filler for my purple, amethyst was one I tried as well as CHI it was eggplant and it fades slower but I grabbed this blue and I'm thinking of trimming my ends because my midstrand to my ends loses the color first and I need to know what your opinion is on me doing it as a 1st time color
...and it doesn't say of course if its 20 v or 30 I suppose if it says for bleaching wait 14 days so duh lol... it's a 10 pr 20 volume and I definitely leave my bright colors on longer than it says being blonde takes many times over and over to allow it to grab but I went level 6 violets so I think this will turn out awesome as long as I trim the ends and get off the dry and slit that dont take amd hold when it gets time to go 😉

I have done my own colour all my life and have never had any fails. I've even used other Got2b Metallics before and they turned out great. This shade though...FAIL. Followed all the instructions and when I was done I was shocked to see that NONE of the colour was there. My hair looked exactly the same even at the very roots. I have very short hair so there was tons of dye on every part of my hair.

@@BeingBarton Hey I was recently in Dollar General and saw a new Schwarzkopf Got2b M66 Blue Charcoal hair dye. It reminded me of you, and how you have done a lot of their metallic dyes. Its kind of like a blue black but metallic, and very lovely. Sadly it seems to be very very new as there is nothing about it anywhere on the internet, besides the few pictures I have posted. I am trying to get the pictures up on imgur but its not liking my slow internet, so i made a album with a few pictures on another site. If you ever try this color please let me know!

I died my hair this color, only two strips in the front, keep in mind my hair is chocolate brown virgin hair, and it came out more blackish then blue, there was some hint of dark blue but for the most part looks black. Does anyone know how you can remove this? I don’t really want my hair looking like this anymore. It’s been only a few weeks. Please and thank you!
@jairi anaya I am impressed that you did a strand test first! It's a bummer that the color is really not what you want. My experience is that the color really will fade over time. I would personally give it time to fade, and then attempt to color over it with a shade closer to your natural color. But hopefully someone who knows about this will comment with an a color removal tip!

@āŋgęlįçā ŗoşāş Ugh! I'm sorry. It might have something to do with your hair color before applying the dye. I can't always tell when colors don't work for me. Folks in the comment section generally have good ideas, and I find that the color I start with often affects the color I end up with in ways I wasn't expecting. I hope you were able to find a better blue shade for you! 🌻
@@BeingBarton no I haven’t dyed my hair after it since I went to talk to specialist about hair she told me never touch any dye that has to do with metallic because it can damage my hair so yeah I haven’t redue my hair since

@Mateo Navarro You'll probably be fine! I think the waiting period is just there to give your hair a chance to recover. Maybe try a good conditioning treatement when you finish with the color. ✨

Thomas Cochran This color still looked good on me 6 weeks after coloring. It faded to a light blue and was really nice. I don't frequently water wash my hair... I use dry shampoo most of the time. It helps me keep the color vibrant for as long as possible. 🙂

Can we bleach and then use the colorista right after? Is it permanent? Looking to get my brown hair light enough for purple
@jolene guerrero You can bleach and then color right after...colorista is more of a tinted conditioner than a harsh dye, so there is a better chance that your hair/scalp will respond favorably. I have gone from brown to bleach to colored in the same day, and my scalp was on fire! 🔥😅
Oops mixed the chrome mixed it in with the rest of the dye all in one bottle list instructions next up hairs going to fall out ugggghhbbbb fml lol 😂 now to dye my hair back to black

@Stephanie Clark Hi. 🙂 It faded to a nice pale blue. You can see the shade I ended up with at the start of the hair video following this one...it was a ruby shade that I went with after this. I hope that helps!
