Oli said this song is his favorite BMTH song ever. The two bands are close friends, and working with them made him extra motivated singing. You can really tell, as he's more intense here than he's been in a while imo.
Great reaction. BMTH and BABYMETAL are very good friends since meeting at a festival about 5 years ago where Olly took them under his wing a bit to make them feel welcomed and comfortable in a place that is largely male dominated. They hang out back stage whenever they meet at festivals ever since and last year BABYMETAL invited BMTH to open for them in a series of their concerts in Japan. The collaboration has been on the cards for a while now, the BABYMETAL girls have spoken about wanting to do it in the past. The processing on the vocals was clearly a stylistic choice, Su-metal is a very special vocalist and could handle this with ease with none of that. From what you said I got the impression you have only heard 'Gimme Chocolate' from BABYMETAL. If that is right you have been missing out on so much. Give 'Megitsune' or 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 a listen - two of their earliest songs (both pre-date 'Gimme Chocolate'), I think you will be very surprised - or their most recent release is an official video for 'BxMxC' which was originally a Japan exclusive track on the last album and is very different to anything they have done before ... but you will be hard pressed to find any two of their songs that are alike.
@@Roguenjosh - the bass player for the Kami Band (the live band that plays Babymetal concerts) is awesome. Forget his full name but everybody calls him BOH. As I haven't seen any comment about it here, your video game feel might be because Mick Gordon, who wrote the Doom and Wolfenstein soundtrack(s), had a big hand in producing the song (the EP?). Babymetal writer/producer MK-Metal, aka Mikii Watanabe, and his team are credited for writing the chorus and the lyrics for their verses.
You need to see the road of resistant live Japanese baby metal song ... and many more baby metal songs..very crazy ... metal but accompanied by dancing ... and it makes you happy😎😍
From one Adelaideian to another: great reaction mate! I can only echo what Grington commented about BM. If you like the contrast/mix between the clean vocals of Su and the heavy music, that's basically what you're getting with BM. I'd love to see you check out some more of their stuff in future. For now, I'll sub and look forward to your next vid. Keep it up!
@@Roguenjosh Babymetal and BMTH have been good friends for a couple years now so it wouldn't surprise me if BM knew how to write lyrics that would fit Oli's typical style
@@Roguenjosh - Babymetal is way more diverse than people think. It's not possible to have Su the lead vocalist in any kind of a metal song and not have it sound a lot like Babymetal. They don't have a sound. If people think so it's because they've only heard one or two songs. They've made a constant effort not to be pigeon-holed.
I'm not a BMTH fan (not because I don't like them, just because I haven't looked in to them so far), but I love BABYMETAL, and I'm very grateful to BMTH for how much room they have given them in this awesome song. And I guess they won't regret it. Please check out more BABYMETAL, if you enjoy this melodic chorus, I'm sure you'll find at least some songs in their catalogue that you like.

First of all, greetings from germany, love your vids. Checked out your band for the first time, and i love it. Back to BMTH, love Kingslayer a lot but i can´t decide which one is my fav track on the album, "Kingslaver" or "one day the only butterflies left will be in your chest as you march towards your death".
I love when people say they allready heard THE babymetal song, its not like the have 3 albums right? Anyway upvoted for making a nice reaction video, thx for that.
babymetal is a group of 2 (previously 3) female members that has existed for 10 years now: su-metal (lead vocalist, also does choreography) was 12 when babymetal started and is now 22. moametal (lead dancer, also contributes vocals tho) was 10 when babymetal started and is now 21. yuimetal (co-lead dancer, also contributed vocals when she was around) was 10 when babymetal started but left in 2018 due to undisclosed medical issues. their music is mostly written and produced by other members of "team babymetal", and is played at live shows by the "kami band", which generally consists of a handful of (generally male) musicians from a small group of regulars, but does not have an independent existence and is technically just whoever is backing up babymetal on a given night. they also now employ a team of dancers known as the "avengers", who mostly take turns filling in yui's place in the formation. babymetal has released a tremendous diversity of songs, with varying degrees of metal influence, and really not a single bad song in the bunch, tho some of the early ones especially are really out there... their signature song is probably "megitsune", the official video of which you should absolutely check out, and my favorite from their most recent album is probably "bxmxc" (x's are silent), which also has an official video. that said, fans will recommend live performances of most other songs, just because babymetal's live show is so incredible.
