I feel for all the average people. Boating nowadays is so far out of the realm for most average incomes. I bought my boat used in 2017 for $16,500 and today they are listed for $20k-$27k. How the hell did I make money? Boats are stupidly priced and as much as I hate to say it. Probably not going to get much better no matter who is in charge of the country or what happens with Covid recovery.
Mark up is high because of the economy and Covid. Supply got jacked with Covid which raised the prices of materials/electronics and why go down on prices when you can get people to pay for it. Other reason prices went up is because Covid kept employee count down which made the production rate go down and then to get people to come back to work people are having to pay way over market value. Short and skinny is there are lots of reasons but at the end of the day, something has to give because boating is starting to get reserved for the rich. Go look at the prices of jon boats. even the kayaks have started to surpass $5k in some instances. It’s stupid and it hurts those with average incomes.
I looked at used boats back in 20/21 and found just junk for 25/35K, so I purchased a VR 4 with 115 ProXS, what a great boat for the price, I routinely take it offshore her in SoCal, the table is nice for watching sunsets.
First boat was the E-18 it was a nice starter but didn't handle choppy waves. Small fuel tank the 21 has so much more pros for just a little bit more money
would have loved a closer look at the features on that carolina skiff. Haven't seen that new "E" series model yet. Looks like it's similar to the old DLV hull. No self bailing deck, etc.
Sorry, it was hard to get through all the boats there in the 2 days we had, I wish I could have done a more in depth on each boat for sure, idk about the self bailing hull though, I didn't see, my guess would be that it wasn't and it uses a bilge on a float, but not sure
After reading these comments first, just glad I’m not the only one who thinks that a 40k boat today should really only be about 20-25k max…boat prices are out of control and boat show deals are a thing of the past.
Whalers are so over priced. I have an 87' Sportsman converted to center console with the 98' Mercury 90 smoker. Paid $5,500.00 for her. She's finicky but when running well she's awesome!
In my views of boats or yachts, manufacturers or owners who are rich, they have made that fun of sea very expensive where it stop the majority of people thrill to experience life out there. It about money over people
Man I can't see myself buying anything new. I'll just keep my 2001 Chawk-222 sports cabin that I picked up in 2014 for 12k. Seems like a real bargain at this point.
Even the "Cheap" boats are expensive now.

that 130 super sport thing should be like 12 grand max.. what's the mark up on all of these.. like 80%?

$1000 per 1 hp is a terrible deal
Five years ago it was like $10” per horse. Loaded people don’t care, more money than brains 😂
Weather out wight poorr evonmy lot if weathy
That skiff 2 years ago was 24k
Were these boats priced with a trailer?
Um, some of them were and some of them weren't :/
Thats a good price for Carolina skiff 21' but powered by a 140 is why its priced at 40k.
1.5 years ago I got the same boat for 24k
Ever since covid the price of boats have been out of control..........

Nice review. The Whaler is getting a bit pricey. Great boat that will last.
Yes they are some. Small cheap cabin cruser whaler orice tag
Wait til you see the full booth tour, their bigger boats are really priced nicely lol ;)
I'm not a fan of the new window location on the larger Whaler. It looks like it could be trouble.@@BornAgainBoating
Is that 18 makio self bailing ?
I don't think it was, I think it had a bilge and float in it, but I'm not a 100% on that, I wasn't looking at that :)

No 13 foot boat should cost that much good lord
Absolute stupid money for very little boat. What a joke. Manufacturers are clinging to 2022 pricing with a death grip LOL.

Is that girl stocking you

Can you use better video camera thank you
The video quality was great in my opinion. Did you play the video at 1080p or higher?
