My first boat (which I still have) is a Dolphin 18 backcountry. Picked it up for 10k at a govt auction - was a patrol boat for the NPS @ Everglades NP. 175 hp Optimax with 456 hours on it and it's scary fast. I hit 62 on flat water. Watching this video has me wanting to take it out for a spin 😍😍😍 Love your content!
First off: thank you for having your audio mastered to both channels, can't tell you how many very popular boattubers still can't figure that out and it BOTHERS me. Would love to see the same style video with 25-30 foot center consoles :) Lovin all your content brother keep up the good work!
Thank you lol yeah, you gotta set the Rode mics to stereo, or if I don't have it on the camera gotta go in at post and change from mono to stereo and then check it lol thank you! The rest of this week will be boat show videos and then back to Key West project. I have over 300 boats recorded, I've just gotta figure out how to compile it for the center consoles, price, length, brand, type of boat, not sure, but I'll figure it out before next week lol
How come you didn’t show an information on the 21 Hughes was really interested in that have had an 18 foot Hughes before and loved best boat I ever owned in my life
If the 17 HPX-V has a max horsepower rating of 90 hp what is it shown with a 115? By the way I’m talking about the display picture not the actual display boat
No economists in the comment section… These companies price their products TO SELL so they can make a profit. And if they don’t sell, they don’t make money. Bottom line: people are willing to pay these prices, thus the prices are right. If they were not selling, the prices would be lower. Whether you would pay it is irrelevant. They are looking for customers who WILL pay these prices for THESE products and apparently they’re out there. People are buying a lot of these type of boats right now in the post-COVID era. And the technology they employ is mind-blowing. End of story…
The prices are pretty crazy I have a diesel 2023 Chevy trailboss and it was still cheaper than the maverick’s I guess I’m just going to update and repower my 1985 dolphin 16 backcountry with those prices plus it does ride better also.
This is too much for these smaller boats lmao They nice as all heck but 69k for a boat you can only have 3 people on I will get Ghenoe for like 14k for everything I wasn lol
what happened? it was not so long ago you could pick up these hulls for under 22k and add a nice 150 2 stroke for additional 14. This insanity has to stop folks. When you can get something used for reasonable prices, go that way. Side story, a neighborhood property here in fla sold and the buyers had a lot of work to clear the trees and junk out. The property had 5 boats including a jet ski and a 17 foot center console with a johnson 115 on it. Nothing wrong with it at all except had to replace the tnt motor. total cost to repair 85 dollars.... They sold me the pkg, boat, engine and trailer for 300 dollars. This will run for decades and all that money saved goes into trips fishing. DO not let these mfgs take you. My new boat is a 03 and is beautiful and best thing... I can actually afford to go cross country fishing for years for much less than they are charging these days. COVID INFLATION WILL NOT LAST>.. forgot to add, have been a marine mechanic and repair shop owner for over 50 years. now retired and wanna fish and not make payments forever.
For reference that 17’ maverick msrp is more than $13k above a base model 2024 corvette, jeez
83K for a polished 17" flats boat, absolutely disrespectful even putting that number on there.
Prices are wild!
Ttook some notes for myself, might as well share:
maverick 17 flats: 84k. Max90HP, 8" draft
maverick 18 flats: 88K max 150hp, 9" draft
hewes refisher 19: 87k max 150HP, 10" draft
hewes redfisher 21: 97k max 350hp, 14" draft
chittum skiffs snake bight 21: 160k, 9" draft
chittum skiffs mangrove 18: 105k, 9" draft
Mako LTS 18: 40k max 115hp, 11" draft
Thank you!

67,000 for a 17 ft boat? I guess everyone is rich these days.
Dolphins are awesome! they are scary fast too lol all these flats boats doing over 60 is sketchy lol
This is the reason I still have my 96 Action Craft 1620. It may not be fancy but gets the job done and has tons of storage too.

Right! If it was like 20 or 25k then I’d consider it

That mako 18LTS looking good with these absolutely ridiculously priced boats 😂
Insanily prices in the US :(
Joseph r Biden
$160k for a flats boat is ABSURD 💀
Lol yeah, that's a straight performance tournament boat lol too much for me lol
Have you worked on any beaver tail or hells bay flats boats?
Beaver Tail's, no, but Hell's Bay's yes, and they are also a really great well made flats boat!
Beavertails are one of the best built boats
Did Gheenoe have a spot this year?
They probably did but I didn't see them
66 for a bit more than a canoe!!!
Always on point
83k I would buy a 40 foot cabin
How come you didn’t show an information on the 21 Hughes was really interested in that have had an 18 foot Hughes before and loved best boat I ever owned in my life
83k. Wow.Insanity price
Nice boats. I get the price due to the economic situation but dang. I would build a wooden boat and save my money
did you say that was 160k flats boat ? good lord
If the 17 HPX-V has a max horsepower rating of 90 hp what is it shown with a 115? By the way I’m talking about the display picture not the actual display boat
Lol I didn't notice that lol
Makes some of these cheap flats boats on Marketplace for 15k look like a steal.
So? If I was to buy my hewes today it would cost me $80grand‼️‼️ wow 😅 I’ll just keep re-powering my 06redfisher 😂
That's a great boat, I'd keep on re-powering it too! :) at least for another 20 years!

Dude I love a Dolphin, they make a phenomenal boat!
Bro I hope these companies go bankrupt. 80k for a 17 ft flats boat 😂😂😂😂
even tbough i could probably afford these boats, i refuse to do so! they will depreciate so much after year 2...
I know my boat is old but $37k for a 28' CC boat with twin engines makes me happy!!!
This is too much for these smaller boats lmao They nice as all heck but 69k for a boat you can only have 3 people on I will get Ghenoe for like 14k for everything I wasn lol

I keep telling myself that it won’t last. But here we are 3 years later.
80k for a tiny boat wtf
Seriously? You’re showing one of the world baldest skiffs… and you like it because it just looks better?
The content creator needs to study up on boat design before trying to make videos about them.
You know you have made it when you can spend 160 grand for a flats boat.
Lol right
