thanks mate! …we had our front spaces from eBay for our cannon, sitting in the shed collecting dust & I didn’t know how easy it was to install them …job done in a few hrs with my neighbour:))….front lift looks mint …body mount chop & bigger tires here we come ;))
I've got mine sitting there, a bit apprehensive but might do it mulyself. Got a quote from fulcrum to put my front spacers and rear shackles in. $650. That convinced me to do it myself lol
Just a thought mate. When towing, with load on the back end. Would it sit lower then it would with the spacers in the rear too. Thought you would put the rears in also to eliminate the sag look while towing.
My race car trailer sits perfectly flat when loaded as the GWM has a low tow hitch on it. So it doesn't squat at all, even with a full tub of race gear!
For me best looking Pick Up inside and outside. The idea with the Lift Spacer is great and the tires and wheels looking sick. Last but not least the offset is perfect…
You should honestly put a roof rack and canopy on the back for the roof put a pull out awning from Kings with a light bar on the roof rack and a slimline light bar on the front
Great video, helped me to be able to do mine myself, however you do need to take the shock out and turn it around as the spacer won’t line up. It’s also handy to jack up the upper control arm with a 3ft bit of timber….and watch the brake lines!
Hey brother, this is really handy to watch, I'm planning on doing this soon. Did you end up putting the shackles on the rear? Any chance of throwing up a video on how to do it?
For someone who doesn't normally shoot 4by4 build content, you actually do some of the best builds. From the Prado to this new one. Simple mods yet the best, especially on this one, putting the spacers on the front and levelling the car out rather than leaving the weird stance other guys do with the rear lifted higher than the front. Awesome stuff
Thanks so much for the kind words! I tend to do what I think is most logical and makes sense for what I’ll be using the vehicle for. So far it’s been incredible!
Have a look at load assist air bags if your got to be towing alot then the rear wont squat as much when the trailer is on but looks mean as wheels suit it heaps👌👌
Mike mate. I also have a gwm. With your front spacer fitted. When jacked up where wheel don't touch ground. Check if your upper control arm touch spring. Or did you swop the left and right
Hey mate love the video, just 1 question, does the suspension still bottom out over speed humps with the spacers installed? As I find the front suspension is really soft in my cannon and bottoms out. I am considering the spacers but just want to be sure this sorts out this issue. Cheers
Hi Mike, how is the vanta going now? I have several friends with them or the X and they all seem to be having a great run. I'm thinking about getting one myself👍
Now you need extended brake lines and caster and camber corrected front upper control arms otherwise you will chew your tyres, and stretched brake lines are not a good idea
These Chinese cars have triple rear door seals and many options i think in the next five years other CAR MAKERS don't shape up the Chinese will leave them behind.
@@grantes4969 look up the actual meaning of Ute do you know what the El Camino is? Do you know what a ranchero is? Those are Utes trucks are larger if you're trying to be and you're not going to beat me because I'm going to you every single time now go look up your own language
Turbo 125cc Drift Kart & R32 content coming THIS WEEK! Thanks for watching 😁
Are you and RexH going to be doing a collaboration on the skyline builds?
Nice one have three of them and one has done over 80k no problems good ute
Great vid, Mike.
Are you pls able to include link for the front lift kit / spacers (either here or in description for others asking).
Cheers.
Put the shackles in. Improves the ride quite a bit. I do over 2000kms a week. Can notice the difference. Are great utes
Hey mate …do the shackles help with the sag, when she’s close to gvm (ie 1 tonne) ?
@hamishholmes3213 hey. Don't really carry much of a load so couldn't say. Do alot of highway kms.

Glad I could inspire you to put them in! I’m absolutely loving my cannon 😁
hey mate …have you put in the rear shackles yet?…or are you content with the level look?…I just got some shackles delivered :))

Strip the roll bar and roof rails off. The sleek look will look way better. Sweet vid bro. Cheers
Thanks bro! I kind of like the sports bars 😅. But I need some roller shutters for sure

Awww cool I have owned 3 variant’s of cannons. I wish I was mechanical inclined and able to do mods. Looks cool.

Hey mate, great video. I’ve now done the same with the lift kit. Haven’t fitted wheels yet. Do you get any scrubbing with the combo you used?

Looking f.k amazing mate 🤤
Thanks!
Need some stiffer shocks in the rear or airbags to help with the towing
Luckily my car trailer is a low one, so the it hitches perfectly level with the tow hook. So I kind of got lucky with that one! haha
Hey Mike are you gonna keep the prado also you gonna off road the gwm.
Prado is sold! We’ll give her some off road treatment for sure 😁
Hello what are the brand of the tires they look like Ko2s
Is there a lowering Kit
Anymore vids coming with the canon? :)
Can do, what would you like to see?
@@itsmikelake anything really, loved when you did up the prado.
You should've bought the XSR version!!😄
I love the vanta for its subtle ness haha. The XSR is cool however!
Did you sell the Prado?
Sure did!
more canon vids please
Hey mate,
Do you know any in Wellington NZ, who can do this similar job?
Hi Mike, how is the vanta going now? I have several friends with them or the X and they all seem to be having a great run. I'm thinking about getting one myself👍
Fantastic!! 0 issues 😁
@@itsmikelake I ended up getting one, fantastic deal, less than 40k for a brand new red vanta 2024, so much car for the money🙂👌👌
I have XSR. Where can I buy the lift kit?
eBay mate
Now you need extended brake lines and caster and camber corrected front upper control arms otherwise you will chew your tyres, and stretched brake lines are not a good idea
Nah this is a very minor front lift so just a wheel alignment is needed 😇
@itsmikelake how did you got after alighting I've noticed mine had some hectic positive camber.
Hi Mate, from where did you buy this spacers for the shocks? cheers
I got mine from eBay mate
i like this ute, but i can't fit it in my garage :( hahaha
Haha yeah I don't park it in my garage either!
Yep don't fit in standard garage luckily I have a rear door on my garage
How many kms on the rig now mate still liking it? Hows the dpf burns been with yours herd they do it quite often 🤔
Loving it! 5000km now and 0 issues. Tows the race cars perfectly. Has done a few dpf burns but no issue there
@@itsmikelake do the dpf burns affect anything when driving?
It’s still a GWM 😂 common as wheels now 😂😊
Man I absolutely love this thing!
That's literally a compliment to how good they are if they're everywhere you fool
Any issues with adaptive cruise control? Cheers
None! 10,000km in and absolutely loving it 😁
How much is the speedo out ?
The speedo is still fine :)
@itsmikelake I really don't believe that
I’ve just put 275/70r18 (slightly taller tire) onto our cannon & at 100km/h on Speedo, gps says 102…so his Speedo must be pretty close to bang on
I'd be more worried about insurance knocking you back for modifications than manufacturer's warranty
Happy trails, Cowpoke
Be upfront with your insurers and mods.. it'll be covered! Mine are!
Mike!!!!!!!!! What’s happening with the skyline 😢
New vid drops tomorrow 😛
Yes mikeeeee!!!! Thank you for curing my depression
I've been saving up to rep your merch some day 😅 I love your content and your whole vibe ❤ keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much bro 🙏🏻. I’ve got some INSANE content coming…just you wait
I bet brother ❤ ill look forward to it!
Hi
To drive in and duplicate what you have done, can you please give me a price .
Cheers
Doesn't that throw off your speedo by a lot now?
No, the speedo is still the same :)
Nice you didn’t overdo it with the lift kit like all the ford rangers 😂
Gotta keep it chill hey haha. I’m all about that clean look 👌🏻

That’s a light truck the definition of a Ute is a car sized pick up. you think you guys would know that seen as you invented the word……
I’m confused 🤣🤷🏻♂️
Still a ute!
@@grantes4969 wrong 😑
Yanks use the term 'pick up'. Australians not influenced by American English use the term ute, as in utility vehicle!
