You are the best I have followed in the field of making cakes, and I always hope to reach your level of craftsmanship. You are a wonderful and honest person, but I wish that the videos included subtitles in Arabic. Many of my friends follow your videos, but unfortunately they find it difficult in English, so we wish that they were translated into Arabic
Your timing with the video is perfect because I just made 2 recipes of your Marsh Fondant. I thought I put too much Tylose but judging by the way yours looks, I'm good. I just love how easy your way is because I stayed away because I just couldn't get it right until KK came into my life😍 Enjoy the rest of your day!
I haven't used the Wilton in so long because I really like the super red. But it will work in a pinch! And I use gum-tex all the time. Tylose, gum-tex, CMC powder...it does the same thing. 😊
@@KarolynsKakes thanks! I maf my 1st fondant cake. The mistake I made was waiting to make everything to last min. I didn't let my cake chill long enough to set.
Hi Karolyn, once again I love your videos. The best on you tube!! I have a silly question, I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere. How do you get the white dust marks from the cornstarch off your fondant, especially the dark colored ones. Crazy question I know, but it’s driving me bonkers. Thanks in advance, I will be buying you coffee soon. This video didn’t have the link. Have a great evening! Kelli
Hey Kel! I personally take a paint brush and a tiny bit of shortening and paint it on the fondant. Then take a dry paper towel and wipe the excess off. A lot of people use a hand held steamer to do the same, so you can do either method!
Hi Karolyn. I have some questions. Are you saying that fondant will be good to use, after wrapping and storing, no longer than 2 weeks? Also…do you expect that the fondant pieces on your cakes will be eaten? I wasn’t sure if, after adding tylose, they were still edible. I wouldn’t think adults would be interested in just eating pieces of fondant but children, on the other hand, that see all of these fun fondant decorations, might want to.
I usually don't keep it much longer than 2 weeks because I go through so much of it. But if you wrap it up really well, it lasts longer. Even if you put Tylose powder in the fondant, you can still reuse it. I reuse it until it gets too hard / difficult to handle. And it is still edible with the tylose powder in it. It's just a little stiffer, but it doesn't alter the taste.
Great video!! I make the Liz Marek fondant, would you still add Tylose Powder to it? Also to subscribe to any cake magazines or follow anyone on RUclips? Have a great week!!
I've made LMF once before, I feel like it is wonderful for covering cakes. But I made a topper with it (with Tylose added) and it remained too soft and wouldn't get as hard as regular marshmallow fondant does. So from my experience, if you need the fondant to dry harder (to stand on its own or to get clean cuts), just use regular Marshmallow Fondant with Tylose added!
Every time I use alot of color it breaks my fondant I use americolor. You use a different brand is maybe thats why? I watch your videos every day AT LEAST!!!
If you enjoy my tutorials, I'd be so grateful if you could Buy Me A Coffee! ☕🙏 www.buymeacoffee.com/KarolynsKakes
Thanks for all your videos! I have learned a lot from you. I was lucky to find your channel. No one explains it like you do.
Shereen! Thank you!
And I love your name, do you watch Game of Thrones?
@@KarolynsKakes Nope! But I read the books 😃

It's different every time I work with it! You gotta be able to see and feel when you need to add more or less Tylose 🙌
Makes sense. I like your color system ☺️
Also I’m just doing some small hearts is tylose a must?
You probably don't need it for really small decorations like that.
Any suggestions if I’m
Plant based and don’t want to use shortening?
The Sweetex Golden Flex shortening I use is made from Soy. Can you use that?
Does the tylose powder/cmc powder change the flavor of the fondant
I've never noticed a difference in taste, just the texture!
@@KarolynsKakes ok, thank you
Do you like the Wilson no taste red gel dye? My small town doesn't have much and too late to buy online 🙃 and can you use gum-tex instead of tylose

Awww thank you love!
I use Americolor too and, yes, I have to add more Tylose when I’m adding a lot of color.
Love your channel but you need to get over your strange view about some words. Chunk is a perfectly good word, useful too.
I blame my teenage nieces for that! 🤣🤣
