struggling with fertility issues, Elizabeth's insights into pregnancy changes caught my attention. i appreciate her comprehensive approach to discussing the various transformations during pregnancy. these insights create awareness, and it's comforting to know that these changes are normal. while Aspect Health is essential, my focus is on understanding and embracing the natural process, which Elizabeth beautifully emphasizes. sharing experiences fosters a supportive community, making the journey more manageable for everyone.

Welcome back! I have a 9 month old now. Had a dramatic birth, I had to call the hospital many times that weekend because of stomach pains, which went from tummyache level to making me sound like I was in active labor the next day - but that day they refused to let me come in for another check, since they couldn't find a reason the day before. I wasn't taken seriously either when the baby stopped moving. When I finally got to come in after nagging calls, shortly after my baby's heartrate dropped to 60 and had to come out immediately. Luckily everyone at the hospital were amazing, so I wasn't even scared before I was put under. She was born with an APGAR of 2, and we were in the NICU for 6 days, but everything went well ❤ And today she took her first proper steps! 🎉

I had Cholestasis with my first. I told the OB that I looked up the rash, and that was one of the diagnoses. I didn't even make a special appointment, just mentioned it before the end of my weekly. He tapped me on my knee and said, "it's unlikely, but if it'll make you feel better, we'll test you." I got a call the next week saying I needed to get to the hospital as soon as I feasibly could to be induced. He was on vacation, and I was rewarded with the best OB on staff. She took me on as a patient, too. Everyone was fine. I took a nap after the call, went in once my husband got off work, and had her 27 hours later.
*I had worked the night before, overnight, and was exhausted. We lived in the middle of nowhere, and he had the car, so I couldn't have driven there anyway. I told him what they said immediately, and he didn't seem to prioritize it enough, so I took my nap.

Not planning to unsubscribe, but I did deliver my 2nd and final baby this past May 2023. I chose to do an elective induction since I had HG my entire pregnancy. I was induced at 38+1 for my first baby starting at 3 80% & -2. This baby I started at exactly the same place inducing at 39+3. First baby was 16.5 hours from starting pitocin. This baby was 6 hours from the same point. I got an epidural so I could get through the contractions as I was coupling pretty much the entire labor which was making it too hard for me to coop. Best part of my labor here. My OB was preparing to brake my water. He said he was waiting till I was between contractions because I was almost full and bulging. He stepped to the side of the bed then got to talking waiting for the contraction to end. Without thinking he sat down on the bed and broke my water. It shot out with so much force I heard it hit the floor and cupboard straight across the room from me also soaking his pants. He was like I have no idea why I just did that and we all laughed so hard including my labor nurse. He let me labor down for 15 minutes waiting for that urge to push while he quickly went and changed his pants. I then delivered my son after less than 5 minutes of pushing. It was the perfect labor and delivery I could have ever hoped for especially since my first was kind of traumatic when my epidural completely failed in transition followed by delivering my daughter with all the feeling. I am grateful for her birth as well, but his was so peaceful and fun. Long story sorry. I just love my stories and my babies and this field of medicine. Wish I had gone to school to become a perinatal nurse right out of high school. Thanks for all your knowledge.

It’s my second pregnancy, I’m 21 weeks (number one will be 2 next month!) and I have such greasy hair when I didn’t shower the day before! I shower every other day, and oh man does my hair look great the next day, and not the day after. I got a scalp scrub to help, but I don’t think it has. I read a clarifying shampoo could help too, but I just feel like this is something I have to deal with for now… and use dry shampoo after my non shower nights.
I also had a few cold sores on the corner of my mouth, which are more likely in pregnancy with the weakened immune system. They’re finally almost gone after almost 2 weeks. For a week, it hurt when I ate or brushed my teeth since one was on the very corner of my mouth…

@kylezimmerman685 potentially for a cesarean birth. This is called a “push up”. but some hospitals actually a new device called a fetal pillow that is placed in the vaginal and inflated to help push baby up for an abdominal delivery.

Birth story… my baby was born in the car after a 2 hour labor. I’ll stick around as I plan on having more children but I’ll never pass an opportunity to retell our wild story!
