    It’s because of you, your educational and informational videos and my amazing support team that I was able to have the unmedicated birth I dreamed of. Thank you so much for that ❤️

      I am so happy to have played a small role (because really it was all you, my friend) in providing education that helped prepare you for your birth. Also yay for an amazing support team!!

    I had coupling with my 2nd baby (1st labor, unmedicated VBAC). I told my doula afterward that it felt like I was in one of those scenes in a movie where the person is running after a train, trying to grab on and pull up to safety. My water broke just after 1AM and ctx started about 10min later. From the start they were 2-3min apart, and she was born less than 5hrs later. She probably would have been born even sooner except she had her right hand on her left ear!

    I had a home birth and when my water broke I got a sudden wave of nausea. It quickly went away, but half an hour later I started vomiting. That also didn't last long. I had castor oil that morning so there was no poop to poop, but it definitely felt like I was pooping 😮. I didn't experience the shakes but I couldn't fall asleep for 2 days (and not because baby wasn't sleeping).
    Thanks for putting this together, keep up the good work!

      All my babies were born at night and I had the HARDEST time sleeping. I went and hung out with my friends at the nurses’ station 😂🫣

    I was on gas and air and had been given something to calm down the intensity of my contractions. When i felt the ring, I just started whistling Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash to my husband

    Hm. My provider instructed me to take slow, deep breaths during pushing to relax my pelvic floor and whereas she was out in about 3 contractions I did end up with a second degree tear :/ (not an emegent situation either)
    Those shakes get me every time, lol.

    • @christinef433

      She was definitely coming FAST and I was doing the little pants until the provider told me to do the opposite 🤷‍♀️

      Slow deep breaths in and out will do the same thing, but are often difficult to do with the intense urge to push many experience.

    I was expecting back labor as that where the majority of my menstrual cramps always were. What I was not expecting was the cold electrical zap feeling in the front of my thighs with every contraction starting at about 6cm dilation.

      The thigh pain is so wild! Like the baby isn’t even near there?!

      I’ve been doing the bowl method and it’s giving me the best curl clumps!

    Thank you so much for your education! Been watching you for a while. Do you know why my doctor would ask me to skip pushing every other contraction? I literally could only breathe… no pushing. It was hard! Thank you!

    • @Nurse_zabe
      @Nurse_zabe  6 месяцев назад +1

      Probably because baby was having some issues with their heart rate. Breathing through a contraction gives them time to recover!

    Wish people talked about trauma to the bladder during L&D. Had complications during my vbac and it was frustrating not finding information and similar experiences online

      I am so sorry you had bladder issues after your VBAC. I do have a few videos on pelvic floor health! Are you looking for something else more specific?

      @@Nurse_zabe I just wanted to share in case anyone else has had a similar experience. It was incredibly isolating going through that and not getting solid answers from drs or finding helpful stories online. I even went back to my pregnancy books and couldn’t find information.

    In your experience, does perineal stretching really make a difference? I'm trying to do it but it's so uncomfortable!

    • @Nurse_zabe
      @Nurse_zabe  6 месяцев назад +1

      The studies show that it can help with reducing the risk of significant tearing, but people also don’t have significant tears who don’t do perineal stretching. If it’s causing you a lot of discomfort and maybe that’s some thing that does not feel good and right for you. And that’s OK! Or maybe you play around with how you’re doing it (introducing a wand), timing (after a warm bath), etc. It also might not be a bad idea to see a pelvic floor pt and have them help figure out a plan that is best for your body!
