The barrels were likely stored somewhere nearby, perhaps even on a barge that used to be on the pier, and Supermutants spread them all over, being immune to radiation themselves (basically creating DoTs against other enemies). Its actually pretty smart.
Next time you go thru there, on that calender you repositioned the board behind it, there is a phone number on the calender, anyway, that phone number use to be or maybe still a good number, and it leads to a message from vaultec at least back in the day. Not sure if it's still operational but I thought it was a neat thing...a sort of easter egg they put in the game knowing someone would probably call the phone number on that calender.
about the armor in the entrance, if you are the rigth level, it should be x01, usually doesnt have helmet, a leg or a arm about the settlements being attacked while you are busy, there is a mod called stop settlement attacks, it works very well if you finished with preston and the main story the rafioactive barrels i thing those are related to the nukes on the basement of the fort

Sorry to hear you are unwell...hope you feel better been missing your videos and live streams. this area is a neat little area you can set up a nice little settlement, although when you do maybe use Conquest since it will let you make it a settlement with provisioners and other settlement perks as the portable workshop can't do. The portable workshop is a great one for scrapping.

I have found that with some objects (especially if there is mist/dust), you can turn off collision via CC (tcl) and 'go inside' the object and get its ID#. In some places its the ONLY way to get the actual ID, since other objects collision boxes are over-lapping.
29:41 could be the military put them there because they don't want anyone to wonder here after the fallout Same goes to the other barrel around the wasteland

Well the castle is more or less Minute Men HQ IE command coms , Fort Strong would be the training center for the Minute Men IE physical fitness, weapons training ETC
The Power Armor is level dependent. I've never done much outside the normal building locations but with the ability to build here I would definitely build here as a minuteman strong point I suspect the radiation barrels were put there by the super mutants since they're not affected by them and humans are it would be a trap for anyone trying to use the buildings as cover attacking them. At one point you lost a bed unexpectedly. That happens if you scrap the item it's resting on, in that case it was the debris decal below it I believe The elevator is part of a Brotherhood of Steel quest line
I created a base here on one of my playthroughs. I tried to do an army base, but the ground is so disturbed with all the unscrappable rubble, it turned into a nightmare to build. So I essentially just abandoned it. I however, dont have the mod that allows you to build INSIDE the fort.

hay i downloaded the mods you have in the video but im heaving trouble getting them to work? i first tried it in vault 88 and it worked great but out side in the commonwealth i wasn't able to scrap anything :\ specifically i was in Jamacia plain. even trying to disable the debris with console commands didnt work. new subscriber btw im loving your content ^^ the vibes... perfection! x3

Some things you can move around. When you highlight it don't scrap it, just try moving it. If it doesn't let you, you would most likely need Place Everywhere (mod).

FYI on your "floating Fish" comment. Other than sharks,99.99% of all fish have an air bladder for buoyancy and will float after death relaxes the muscles that compress it to reduce the bouncy to achieve neutral bouncy while swimming

Have you experienced any respon or reappearing deleated objects After returning to a settlement that I rebuild, I find portions of deleated building meshed with whatever new construction done .
From a developer perspective, I wonder why they created broken floors above the emptiness. It would have been smarter (and faster) to create floors, walls, ceilings from ‘solid mesh’ and not bits and pieces. The props could be added to create the illusion of broken walls, floors and ceilings. We can clearly see the good idea used many places with props and decals added above ‘clear’ textures/meshes. So, there were obviously several people working with different ideas. If they had a clear vision, they could have created the entire map much quicker guided under one unifying vision. And your chances of ‘happy accidents’ would be much less frequent.

It was a mock town designed to test the fat man launcher, so there’s nothing valuable inside the town itself.
