I don't know how long Haley 🇺🇸 has been in Korea , but i think she already knows pretty well the language , the interation with all the four korean ladies is pretty good 🇰🇷
Haley, is one of the most respectful and kind guests on World Friends. And it was so refreshing to see someone from the US speaking another language
True!
The korean lady with the plaits has good conversation and reactions , she seems frendly as well , the "small talks" can be either annoying or just to "break the ice" and are common in many countries and cultures
In the USA small talk can be for neither of those reasons. A lot of us just like to talk. I can’t tell how many times I’ve engaged in conversations with strangers when we all just happened to be in the same place and we never got around to asking each other’s name. Then we leave.
@@anndeecosita3586 Small talks aren't common in Africa and Asia countries , part of Europe as well
@@Noah_ol11 it's just not too common in Europe if you exclude pubs lol. everywhere else people enjoy their private space. I definitely had a small culture shock when an American that had come to Bulgaria just started talking to me in the metro, I was like "why are you talking to me? can't you see I'm enjoying myself whilst alone?"
I like peanut butter. I like apples. I’ve never thought of combining them before. Doesn’t sound particularly good but now I’m very curious to try it. Maybe it will be something that sounds like a weird combo but works surprisingly well (like pineapple on pizza).
Banana and peanut butter tastes better for me.
Ive done peanut butter on celery with raisins. Not a common thing id do but i have in the past. Its actually pretty good. As for apples, my family dip ours in caramel.
@@Lcngopher thats famous enough it has a name, its ants on a log. hell, it has a whole wikipedia page.
@@XcaptainXobliviousX we called it bugs on a log but same concept
Another thing that people find weird is iced coffee. Love iced coffee haha. For those who aren't from the US, what are your thoughts on iced coffee?
i can only drink that because of my temperature in my body is bad so i would burn if i drink really hot coffee
The one Korean girl is speaking English with almost no accent. She might have American relatives or started realllly young
She grew up in Canada :)
I think she mentioned that she lived in Canada in another video :)
Definitely missed that vid. Makes a ton more sense now. Thanks!
No. If she did she would be more familiar with the USA. A lot people can’t distinguish between speakers from the USA and Canada.
3:33 I still have my 128oz cup for free refills at Circle K. God Bless America haha. Fun video!
I really want to be as fluent as Haley in any of the languages I'm learning or want to know.
My household is peanutbutter heavy, i think a lot of poor households are, because if you dont have any food you can eat a couple of spoonfulls of peanut butter on a with a slice of bread & be okay to sleep without hunger. Plus it is tasty! Especially if you make banana icecream with a little bit of peanut butter mixed in!
If I ate peanut butter with an apple, for sure I'd end up in the ER, as I'm severely allergic to both.
Omg 😳
I hate small talks cuz for me it usually ends up not asking the person's name and when we go further into talks I'll be kinda ashamed asking that person's name 🤦🤷
Why "ashamed" to ask for someone's name ?
Are these small talks with Americans? They probably won’t mind you asking their names. Perfectly fine. Sometimes we ask people what their name is and sometimes we don’t.
Small talk mostly refers to times where you don't know the person and will likely never meet again, but you're stuck in line together or something. Asking for a name is usually not expected.
im not from the US but i love apples with peanut butter🙃
It's just a shirt... it's comfy.. it's big and it's old.. then it's a PJ😅🤣❤ it's us.. Asians 🤣❤
Koreans are open mind lovelly ladies and nation. Koreans love the continent of America they are very smart, observer, attent persons 🍺🍺🍺🍺🤗🤗🤗🤗🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
People forget that Americans are from everywhere. Japanis almost a homogenous society. America has so so so many different likes and habits that others seem to think we all do itthat way. NOPE
That one Korean girl speaks almost perfect American English. She probably must have spent time in America.
Actually no. She spent time in Canada. Some people can’t tell the difference in our accents.
I’m American and I really enjoyed this video. I think Haley did a good job representing the USA and explained things even when she didn’t personally relate to them. I think Americans are generally friendly people who love small talk and striking up conversations with strangers on the street is not unusual for us. House parties are thing. I’ve been to them. Most of us like peanut butter. I eat it on celery, bananas and apples. If you ever get to try a peanut butter and banana smoothie it’s my favorite. Also peanut butter has different textures. I like creamy more than chunky. People do wear robes . I have a heavy one and a light one for different times of year. It’s convenient to throw on if someone knocks on your door and you are in your pj’s. We might also wear a housecoat or a house dress. These aren’t pajamas but clothes for doing work or lounging around the house that are more comfortable than street clothes. We wear pajamas but also night gowns and what the Korean lady described we call a sleep shirt. The shoes on in the house thing depends on region and culture. My family is Southern and we weren’t made to take shoes off at the door unless they were muddy. But most of my relatives didn’t have carpet either. And we don’t enter our homes from the front door. The front door was for guests and we mostly didn’t use the living room/parlor except for guests. We hung out in what we called the den/family room. I was raised that when your get home from school or work, you immediately go change your clothes. Sometimes immediately shower depending on your work. a lot of women remove their bras. In my family’s culture it would be considered weird to wear street clothes around the house unless you’ve invited company over. I know some Americans who believe you should get up and get fully dressed every day regardless but my family isn’t like that. We on off days like midday naps or lie in bed and watch the “stories”. 😴 And that’s not comfortable in street clothes. 😂
My mother was of the generation where you were supposed to get up and put on a full face of makeup no matter what every day, but I'm also Southern and no one wore shoes around the house in my childhood unless it was flip flops. People do wear socks inside the house, though.
@@jwb52z9 Is your family white? I find that a lot of Southern Belle type white women don’t like to be seen without makeup but most of us Southern black women aren’t like that. We didn’t wear shoes around the house either. I just meant we weren’t required to take them off at the door unless they are muddy. We would come home from school and go to our roomsand change clothes so the shoes come off in the bedroom. Adults did this coming home from work and I do it now. My mom didn’t like me walking around barefoot because she was afraid I’d get something stuck in my foot. So I had to wear house shoes/slippers. But a lot of Southern people don’t always wear shoes outside now that I think about it. 😂
First
I’m a sucker for peanut butter and if thats me being a generic American I could care less. I personally enjoy bread and just peanut butter without any jam.
Whoa, Super Size Me reference
I have never eaten apple with peanut butter
Deodorant.
It barely exists in South Korea, because a certain mutation (that also causes ear wax to be dry) drastically reduces body odour.
That makes me wonder about people who are half Korean and half Caucasian.
@@jwb52z9 You either inherit it, or you don't. It may be most everywhere in South Korea, but in China for instance, it's only about 70% of the population.
Seong-Ji seems fun, please more videos with her 🙂
She sounds like she has parents who are American or went to America and learned English
@@tylerensminger She did mention in the previous video that she spent her elementary school years in Canada, maybe even up to high school or something like that
@@manhpham8138 that would make sense then
I love this channel but we do these things lol
I don’t like peanut butter either but I love apples and almond butter. I could definitely eat a spoonful of almond butter from the jar 😂
5:33
The peanut butter with a chocolate chip sounds good actually but I think I would spoon a light layer of peanut butter on a chocolate chip cookie. Hmmm. Never even thought about it.
Do they sale glazed or peanutbutter iced chocolate chip cookies. Ima sell that with some weed in it. Anybody interested in buying for research purposes?
Should of also had PB&Js and celery with peanut butter
*Should have
celery with peanut butter just sounds so disgusting, there's no way anyone actually eats that
@@KristianLyubenovYT I eat peanut butter on celery and it’s delicious.
@@anndeecosita3586 interesting. tbf there isn't a lot of peanut butter here in Bulgaria, in fact I first tried peanut butter a few months ago and tbh its ok but its better with nutella imo
@@KristianLyubenovYT I personally don’t like and don’t eat Nutella. Different strokes for different folks. Also there are different brands and different consistencies of peanut butter and I don’t like them all. I prefer creamy and the brand I like best isvJif. Especially when baking peanut butter cookies it’s important to be picky about the brand IMO.
Honey if you reversed this list it would be unending. I'm sorry of all the cultures in the world east Asian culture is the absolute most confusing I literally don't understand a lot of east Asian culture. Like for example I may not agree with may even be disgusted by some aspects of some cultures around the world from Europe to Middle East to West Central South Africa to North Central South America to Australia all over the world there are aspects of these cultures I don't care for or find odd but I comprehend what it is I literally don't understand what I be looking at or hearing even when it's translated with a lot of East Asian cultures.
I love peanut butter with apples!!! I usually put the peanut butter in a little container and dip the apple slices in it. This was a fun video!!
Peanut Butter? What's not to love? Unless of course you're allergic to nuts.
Nobody yells hello out of a vehicle in the Northeast. It depends on the state. Near larger cities, it does not happen. Out in the country, depends.
Nice! I was expecting another video starring Haley and these three lovely Korean girls, and here we have it!
I'm from Mexico and I have never seen apples with peanut butter, but it actually looks yummy. I want to try it now haha
Very interesting video!
Its not just US thing
I’m impressed Haley can speak South Korea; that’s awesome‼️❗️👋🏻😱💭🇺🇸🇰🇷🤔😌🫶🏻🇨🇦👍🏻😎
Not South Korean. It’s just Korean.
Peanut butter is from Canada.
Haley You're Soooooooooo Good in Korean Language 🤗🤗🤗🌺🌺🌺 Also You Look like Movie Character.. 🌼🌼🌼 Thanks for The World Friends Video 💛💛💛
Nah… parties are real……. She just wasn’t invited……….. sorry
Can you guys make one with Slovakia 🇸🇰 and Poland🇵🇱 pls
6:33 I never ate peanut butter with an apple before lol. Feel like some of those things are related to here, because this island has been veeery Americanized ever since we were a colony so...but our culture and many things is completely different and don't identify with those from the US.
COPE AND SEETHE
I think apples and peanut butter is an after school snack or a snack for children between breakfast and lunch. I like plain water but because it's normal to drink it with ice, I have to request "no ice" at the restaurant.
I like CRUNCHY peanut butter on apples.
That one girl disappeared half way through the video 😂😂😂...
Peanut butter in chicken noddle soup, stange but really good!
I like apples and peanut butter. I don’t do it all the time, but it’s not just for kids.
As far as shoes in the house, I don’t wear shoes in my own house but if I go to someone else’s, I keep them on unless the house tells me to take them off.
Don’t worry. I also don’t like peanut butter 😂
I too don't like peanut butter but I'm a sucker for peanut butter cookies
Americans like to wave at everyone especially in small towns where everybody assumes they know each other. Cruisin' in the car with my mom and people who I don't know just start waving at us out of the blue. Of course when I moved to Chicago it became totally different 😄
There was a woman on Facebook complaining about Americans coming to her country and walking in the bike lane. She says she would ring her bike bell to get them to move out of the way and they would wave at her. I told her in our country we often honk at pedestrians when we are driving as a way of saying hello or I see you. So the tourists thought she was being friendly. We don’t just use our car horn because we want people to move out of the way. Also if a guy sees a pretty girl sometimes he will honk as a way to say looking good there, baby 😉
Only first class asains what about the rest
I was expecting ants on a log when they spoke about peanut butter
Where's Haley been hiding?! glad she's back
Peanut butter! Ain’t nothing wrong with that. 🥜🧈
I loved peanut butter on celery
I wish they can do a vid about similarities and differences of Americans and Filipinos. I feel like there actually many things that are found in USA as well as in Philippines but not on the rest of countries.
Probably because US influence in Philippines
Well, you succeeded in making me hungry. Haley was right that apple and peanut butter are usually served in America as a children's snack. It is a nice combination of the crisp, sweet, and fresh flavor of apples, combined with high protein, nutty peanut butter, to make an appealing and tasty snack. Also putting peanut butter inside celery makes a crunchy, and healthy snack food. The apple and celery have lots of juice/water which helps balance the dryer, sticky peanut butter. Personally I like chunky peanut butter because it is more crunchy and nutty tasting. I did find it strange that Haley was unfamiliar with jumbo sized soft drinks, as they are very common in warmer climates. And there is a lot of ice used in big sodas (soft drinks) as well to keep them chilled.
About the ice water part, I don't know how regional it is but I live in the south west of the state of California in the US and I've seen it often I do it to that I will have iced coffee even in winter.
Right!
Really cool...
3:41 if your ghetto like me you’d forget the water and get a jumbo cup of ice instead
Super!!
please someome change that white background!
Why ? It looks great !
I wanna see how Koreans react to Australian culture.
How much people gesture varies quite a lot. Donald Trump was very well known for talking with his hands, despite being of German and Scots ancestry.
Thats because he is American. It doesn't really matter what his ancestry was. (And yes I know his mum was from Scotland).
Irish Americans are not like actual Irish. Same with all xx-Americans.
I would say how much Americans talk can vary a lot. I'm from Wisconsin and my ancestry is Bavarian/Swiss, so I tend to be quiet. But it's difficult to get us to stop talking if we're drinking beer. Southerners are very friendly, and usually are good storytellers. Like people from Wisconsin, these stories usually involve fishing or hunting, so we get along pretty well.
Very interesting seeing an American speaking Korean... I am an Aussie and I use peanut butter in my cheats satay sauce ;)
I am surprised that nobody asked about guns. Or perhaps one of them did but it got edited out.
Guns were discussed in a recent video so why would they bring it up again?
Peanut butter on apples is bad for digestion. Apples are meant to be eaten alone.
Peanut butter is basically unadulterated fat and imo sticks to your veins like it sticks to your mouth, it's not something you want to eat much of, especially as you get older, same with almond butter or just about any butter.
But it, almond butter and coconut mana are so addicting, for some.
I buy only natural peanut butter.
Here's a tip for all young people. Dont get tattoos. They make you look complete trash in most cases to most people except tattoo fans. If you want to express something on your body then print it on clothes and you can decide not to wear them anymore if you dont like the motif any longer. A huge part of single girls on the dating websites who cant find a husband are heavily tattooed ones. Same goes for piercings. You can get fake piercings that you can take off without leaving wounds on your body.

2 - Sorry but that's not how getting into relationships work
