I'm the opposite. As a little boy in the Vietnamese community, I got bullied and picked on a lot (because I was only half Vietnamese and my other half is New Zealand, Maori)
So it's been installed deep in my mind to not like other little boys or young boys as I see them as little c-nts lol.
I have a girl now, she's 21months old and I love her to death. I have a second baby on the way, and If it's another girl I'll be so happy. If it's a boy, I'll do my best to raise that boy to be respectful. And they will both matter to me ❤

I was sexually assaulted by my brother for about 10 years and my mom had a identical response as Cece's mom. It killed me. I can't imagine how much Cece must be turning in her grave knowing that even in death, over a decade of abuse and descent into madness, her mom stood by him. I hate to say it but its the same for me, but it was not only my brother but also my uncle's adopted son. My mother stood by my brother, and threatened me with foster care, a place she chalked up to be the most scary place ever, convincing me that I would basically die if I were to go, if I didn't lie to police and say that what I said was all a lie. Even to this day several years later, almost in my 30's, thanks to her manipulation, I still second guess myself on if I deserved what happened to me. Was the SA just a lie I made up, like my mother essentially hammered in? I know that it isn't, but some nights I can't used logic to convince myself otherwise. It's even worse that when it was my uncle's adopted son, she was all over that, defending me like a mother should, raging like a momma bear, ready to kill him for what he did to me. But no, when it came to her son, I her youngest daughter who she claimed to love so dearly meant less to her. Having such a comparison is so utterly disorienting. It kills me that as much as I love my mother, I can't stand being around her cause of the reminder and the visceral nausea of hearing her casually saying I remembered wrong, saying in "Great" detail that it was your uncle's son who did those things, reminding me of "exactly" what "he" did over what my brother "didn't" do, convincing me my memory was wrong, or at least trying to. The worst part about all that is, right now, she is in the hospital dying, and I physically and emotionally can't be there. I feel so bad for Cece but I also feel relieved she didn't have to hear that, for it may have been the final nail in her coffin even before her body were to lay inside it.

Not only SA, not only murder, not only cutting a victim down into pieces but also even possible cannibalism. Yet the mom forgave her son and even stood by him knowing all of these horrible horrible things that he'd done were not to any stranger, but his own sister, her own daughter. I’m not surprised at all by the mom’s reaction because we had a similar thing that happened at my hometown. This kid sexually assaulted his cousin for years and his mom’s first reaction was to beg for charges to be dropped because it’d ruin his chance to get into a good college if he was a sex offender. It got even worse where he not only continued but got more violent and his mom was still protecting him. Kept making excuses that since he was in special education he didn’t know better and shouldn’t be held responsible.
One day her son took a weapon (I think it was either a hammer or pliers), assaulted her, then killed her on camera. I don’t believe that anyone deserves that fate, but by protecting and enabling him she made a ticking time bomb.

      @gypsydonovan 7 месяцев назад +51

They weren’t really raised. You throw kids of similar age together without supervision & sexual abuse, or at least inappropriate exploration between siblings, becomes likely. But that’s normally a phase in neglected households, as children are forced to figure out puberty on their own.
14 years isn’t a phase. I doubt he saw her as a sister in the way most of us think of sibling bonds. She was just someone he had power over & could abuse, Partially because he wasn’t taught otherwise.
I wonder if the mom’s forgiveness is out of guilt. She failed all her children. A lot of that was out of her control but she knows where she could have been better.
Her daughter is gone, and while most of us would want to make amends to those who’ve suffered most from our mistakes, she might just be focusing on what’s left.
I’d really like to hear from the other four siblings.

As someone who was raped by my older brother as a child no one took my side. You’d be surprised even an 8 year old is an object and sons must be projected and their actions justified. A lot of my family knows what happened now but still want me to be fine so that he can have a future.
Becuase it’s not fair for his life to be ruined. Everyone thinks it won’t happen around them but it’s 1 in 4 people and it’s mostly likely someone you know closely like a family member. Humanity is collectively disconnecting sexual violence with the consequences of sexual violence and this is the result perpetuated.

the statement the mother made that she doesn't think her son could ever do something like that, makes me question if the daughter was being r*aped by the brother whilst she was young cause she was already showing signs that something was going on with her and it seems less possible that he just started having sexual urges towards his sister... seems like she was mentally trying to escape trauma through drugs and bad company as a teen. She probably didn't know how to process her emotions or family hierarchy status, seeing as to how when she was abandoned to him as her guardian, the mother still refused to believe or care for her child.
The mother should be imprisoned as well.

What's scary about this, is that it seems it wouldn't have been solved if the brother hadn't left the head in the temple. He'd disposed of the body, the neighbors didn't pay attention to the disposal or her disappearance...He just forgot to create a plausible reason for her death.
I'm disappointed in the wife for not saying anything. She could've taken a photo and alerted police once she was back in the mainland. She chose to stay silent.
Also, I agree with MMB - it feels like the mother put more importance on her son's life than her daughter's. That statement of "he's never done anything wrong"...except torture his sister for over a decade. How does she just overlook that? Some people really don't deserve to be parents.

My ex mother in law was definitely like this no matter what her son did in her eyes “he never has done anything bad” i really do despise parents like this

Such a horrific story. I feel so bad for Cece and her mother. The gamut of emotions her mother must have felt, and will continue to feel, must be inexplicable. My heart goes out to her. Thank you and your team, yet again, for another story we never would have known about. Keep up the good work!

How could her own brother do that. So sad and for the mother to know her daughter has been killed a horrible way.

I have a request: can you tell the sad story of the female African students who where kidnapped by ISIS a few years ago? It was globally known and but not a lot was done about it by their own country. I would hate to think that these girls (now women) are now forgotten.

A few days ago something similar (well not really but the concept is) happened in Argentina, so a guy planned to kill someone on a public space with a gun but he missed and shot a woman nearby. That woman turned out to be his sister and he hadn't realized until it was too late.
When more information about this case comes out i would love to see you cover it !!

The fact that the mom said he was a good son who never did anything bad before, after them saying he was drugging, assaulting and pimping out his sister for atleast 14 years….. like no your son is a bad person you just didn’t know it. Atleast he’s in jail for life but Cece didn’t deserve this, no matter what she had been through or her lifestyle. For her own brother to be so cruel to her, he must have hated her his whole life. Everything about this story is just awful.

The level of planning he had for every aspect of what happened. Think about it, from him pretending to be a caring brother for her sister in front of his family and how he deceived everyone who could have reported him to the police: the neighbors, her own mother, the police, the new wife, the wife’s family… and all this for a M.O based on social insurance policies??? That guy thought and did everything and it was all for money? I believe he was sick and a very perverse and depraved condition but he understood what he had to go for 14 years. This guy knew how the world around him worked. He had clarity and used it for depravity. I feel for the victim, she needed help and she deserved better.

Thank you Stephanie for covering this victim’s case. I always appreciate getting the chance to understand and see what is happening in other parts of the world. A chance to give my respects towards victims and their families is always important
This poor girl had gone through so much while being left in the hands of her brother who should’ve helped and protected her. I hope she rests in peace. Hope her mother is coping best she can. I can’t imagine the internal conflict she feels. Hope the brother suffers at the least.
