Leap Off Page 2022: The Story of L Trailer

"The Story of L", written by Ivan Shopov and performed by Daniel Denev as part of Leap Off Page festival of literature and contemporary dance.
Leap Off Page is an international interdisciplinary festival that combines literature and contemporary dance. Dancers and writers from all over Europe come together to create a new hybrid art form, showcasing the idea that words can leap across borders and mediums. Participants are grouped into creative teams and tasked with creating a literary text that would "leap off" the page in the form of dance choreography.

Ivan Shopov is the author of "An Alphabet and Notes Gone Astray" (short stories, 2010), for which he received the "Novite!" award for best debut prose, "Belly of the Year" (poems in prose, 2012), "The Chronicles of Arslan Dailey" (satirical articles, 2018), "Skopje: the Lost Shoes of the City" (short stories, 2020). His poems and short stories have been translated into several languages: English, Serbian, Croatian, Albanian, Slovenian, Bulgarian, Czech, Greek, Romanian and German.
Daniel Denev is a professional latin and ballroom dancer. Between 2011-2016 he was one of the pro dancers in the world famous TV show, Dancing with the stars, with two victories and two top 3 rankings. Since 2021, Daniel has been living in Bulgaria, where he is experimenting with and researching the connection between contemporary dance and sports dance.
The international interdisciplinary festival Leap Off Page is organized by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation, with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, in partnership with TAM performance theater and Dragoshinov Winery.
