Hope all of you guys have been staying safe and healthy. Since the music industry got killed by Coronavirus I've been shedding a lot and the book Standing in the Shadows of Motown has a lot of really great James Jamerson transcriptions in it. Here's a video of me reading through one of my favorite transcription in the book. Jamerson's phrasing on this song is crazy. I tried to play the whole thing with one finger like he did and it's really freaking hard.

It's crazy for everyone right now, but it's an especially scary time for musicians, who generally don't have robust social safety nets and who have essentially lost their entire incomes for at least the next 1-3 months (literally every session, tour and gig has been cancelled within the last week for basically everyone). If you are in a relatively stable financial position, I want to encourage you to buy merch from your favorite bands or donate to their Patreons or something equivalent. It doesn't have to be me, but there are a lot of people in the music community who are really worried about how they will pay their rent or buy groceries and a little bit goes a long way.
