Mel your realness is EVERYTHING for me😂😂😂
Totally! I play your podcast on our Bluetooth speaker to my 8-year-old boy/girl twins to wake up to every morning . And now my daughter wants to be you - she basically IS you - copies each podcast, but in her own words, and for her elementary school aged peers. Omg I want to introduce you guys!!!! Can we actually pursue making this like a real thing?!?! You’re my whole family’s role model :)
What's so funny tho
Embracing uncomfortable and telling yourself "Thats not what we are doing right now"👍 A perfect practice to learn no doubt.
Sending you a ton of hugs Mel and everyone who needs a bear hug right now.
I’m going to put a younger picture of myself on the mirror so I can practice my nurturing skills.
A loving mother/friend/sister that I needed when I was younger.
I feel you all.
We got this! ❤
I was just meditating this morning for help to quit smoking. ❤❤
Why are you angry?
Thank you Rachel and Mel. I’ve listened to this podcast probably 10 times. I read your book Rachel. And then after several months, some how it all sunk it. I have not had a drink since 10/13. When the urge comes up, I state the urge and love me and ‘little me.’❤. I’m so much more active and aware. My brain is working so much better. There are few shoulds and ought tos. I have this amazing feeling of freedom and joy. Thank you 🙏 ❤
I've been sober for two years 👀 1 Peter 4:15; Matt 18:15
Big congrats!🎉🙏
You chose yourself for 2 years. Congratulations 🎉one day at a time.
I don’t drink and have no desire to. But I can definitely apply to eating sweets
Sugar is definitely mine too!
Using doesn’t change anything ‼️
Thank god for our Spirits 💡
Take this into consideration one may have another use in them but another chance of recovery or attempt to change is not promised 🙏🏼👣❤️
That's cold but true.
Have a blessed day ☕️☕️
The goal is to the fact that one is too many the daily goal is to acknowledge that one is enough 🙏🏼
It’s about at the end of the road ‼️
Thanks!
Yes the freedom of choice 👍🏻
As it’s said in any form or substitute on for another we release our addiction all over again 👍🏻
“CHOICE” 👍🏻
It’s living through spiritual principles ❤
I ❤the concept flow with the wave 👍🏻
I just started listening to Mel and so relateable. The drinking thing is also such an issue because I love a cocktail but I am also on a health journey. Weighing the balance sounds like the answer, now finding the balance. Thanks for being real.
Mel doesn't understand that Mel is an alcoholic 🤪
Exactly Mel the void 😊
As for me I hope I can find whomever in the field to help me heal on abandonment & neglect to coming up in addiction as well as me being a Leo & the deep ❤& appreciation for the most precious gift all around the world “WOMEN” my truth 👍🏻
"How to be ok with an unmet desire" - wow that sentence is huge! Growing up with an alcoholic mother, drinking is not a problem for me as Im very careful. My problem is overeating...I hope I can apply some of your ideas and stop myself from constantly overeating when Im stressed out or need comfort!!
Just for today a day at a time 👍🏻
If anything it changes you & not for the better 😊
Takes a lot of effort ‼️
Sending you hugs, how can you express frustration without using the F word?
This is so enlightening! Thank you for being so open Mel. Youre helping a lot of people! ❤
"You can't order a hug
from a waiter." Love it, Mel. ❤
this is a reallll conversation way to go mel
I love you mel. Your fun to listen and are coll
Wow Wow had a SEEKER moment !!!!!!!Tank Q Wasn't about drinking had a few other issues and it makes so much sense. Bless you Mel and your guest. Never to old to flip your personal switch.
The winning effort is to let the negative guide toward the solution 👍🏻
Suit up & show up
Thank you for this!!! And it's also like whack amole because if I fix my urge to drink, my body starts having urges for junk food as sugar substitutes...and so on!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh this is awesome. Just right in the money.
This is great. Of course, urge is here. Ur facing it
The manifestation is in all areas‼️
Loved the insights on the urge mechanisms!
Question: Is this supposed to be a melange with 3 different guests? We jumped from urges to brain and healthy micro-habits for our brain. It might even have a third guest... Havent got to thra part yet
Just checking
Seems like a lot of her youtube videos are a compilation like this. I think its more streamlined if you listen to her podcasts.
Thanks! I'll check the podcast. Its just annoying 🤭
@bianca222 I agree lol
I was thinking that and sat with pem wanting to write tips but disappointingly had only what i knew
My urges don’t want me listening to this!!!
Who was the guest at the start ? Why is there zero mention of who they are and how to find their content in either the video or the information section?
My 2% share 😊
I go to AA when I wanted to stopped drinking. It has worked for me.
Dharma is the way
I love her theory. U are de sensitizing being hard on yourself!
Mel Robbins you need to run from this lady and her advice because what I just listened to was you say the reason that I wake up in the morning and fight with myself whether I wanna have a drink or not isnt because I’m addicted to alcohol but because I’m taking a drink to shut up that little voice in my head. What?! 😂I wish you could hear yourself and then she just cosigned your bullshit. She’s like basically yeah that’s right it’s OK to numb that little voice inside. Holy shit you just went through a whole alcoholic reasoning and justification. If you wake up in the morning Mel and you’re thinking about alcohol you’re an alcoholic because most people don’t wake up in the morning and fight with themselves in their head about whether they want to drink or not😂😂😂😂 this is an astounding podcast and it’s pretty crazy to watch. Go back and watch it yourself by yourself and listen to the justifications the excuses and the reasonings. Oh and if you want to go to a meeting I could totally take you to one!
Mel would wake up and set an intention to not drink when the desire hit later in the day after work. Once the desire for drinking alcohol hit, then there was a conflict and that’s when she would “numb” the conflict. Mel expressed that the drinking occurred to avoid the conflict within herself over alcohol. The Dr was agreeing that it’s not about the desire for alcohol but about the urge to avoid conflict. Hope this helps anyone who reads this.
The 7 deadly ‼️
Wanting to apply this to smoking.
Mel I love you! I have the same feelings about my drinking but I feel as if it’s a boundary. I get done with work and I come home grab a cold beer and walk the dog. I think I’ve just been groomed my whole life to live in shame. I need to obsessing over it and let it be. As far as my health I gave the doctors a chance and they had me on 11 medications and the Mayo Clinic said the meds were damaging my liver. So we are always told that the alcohol damages your liver, how about meds?
Hi Mel! 🎉 Your motivation helped me to just get up and do something and also use what I already have. TY.
I was born into the world of smoking cigarettes. I tried to substitute with cannabis. Didn't seem to work, but then I discovered zig zag rillos with that little hit of tobacco along with the cannabis which suited me fine, although I knew it was probably not that good for me. Meanwhile I quit for a couple years, got triggered and went back only to find incredible guilt to myself and actually feeling quite stupid paying for this expense habit. Well I've been quit again, but it must not be 100 percent because I stashed my papers between the wall in my closet and the weed in a box left by my husband in case anything real bad happens I can smoke myself to death
Thoughts will happen just don’t act on them 💋
The “WE” opposed to the i ❤
For some the worse is the “V” thing ‼️😊
weigh the balance. ⚖️
Is Rachel writing a book or has she? She should!!! What an eye opening concept. Thanks Mel
The prefix for addiction is "add" so what is missing from life that doesn't already exist?
At least I am not an alcoholic. I urge food instead of alcohol.
Where in the world are the tool links????
Peace be with yu
I hate being told what to do, too
All anyone has today / yesterdays history tomorrows a mystery & today is gods gift 🎁 why it’s calling the present 💝
"Holy freakin shit" - Mel always
Add the details in the description please
It’s said in the Bible that nothing is wrong with drinking it’s drunkadness ‼️
All I have is today 😊
Does anyone know the name of the last guest?
nice video
👍🏻
Little after the 30 min mark, "disappointment is coming either way," is that with the "all or nothing" mentality or are there more moderate perspectives where there is not disappointment?
🙏🏼
So truly grateful for the 12 👣’s of recovery ❤️🩹 🙏🏼🎁💯
Whooooaaaaa 🤯
Rebel forever, lol❤❤❤😂😂😂
I “DESIRE”myself to A,B,C, 123👏👏👏💓👏👏👏🥳
LoVE💓💓💓LoVE💓💓💓this and YOU MEL XOXO 🥰 I will BOSS myself to clean my desk 👍🎈🥳😂🥳🎈👍
I stopped eating candy and now I only eat chips and soda. #progress
I didn't love the WHY questions. It always puts people on the defense. Notice how Mel couldn't answer the question. It's really hard to answer that question because often it's hard to self reflect on behavior patterns. Especially in an interview. Though there's useful things she offers here. That part felt like nails on a chalkboard for me as a coach. There's a more powerful way to approach curiosity without that little word.
You can't gain awareness being "perfect" 😊😅
Does anyone know the name of the first guest please? 🤠
She is Rachel Hart
Thank you 😊
Thank you, I could not find her name in the thumbnail, the title, the description, the links…..
True it’s nowhere, Mel calls her name once in the conversation.
❤
I know that you prefaced the conversation that this is not just about alcohol but about “any issues”, I felt this podcast was solely focused on alcohol and you missed the opportunity to extract conversations for others to reflext on other issues such as overeating, shopping, and exercise. A big miss and disappointing on a potential inspirational topic that would have expertly been unpacked and explored from you.
A big miss from me
Keep up the fantastic work and content that you produce. You are on my number one “must listen to” list of podcasters
3:13 I'm only listening this far in, but I'm already assuming this is heading down an 'acceptance and comittment therapy' tack...
Best video on breaking bad habits ever…… Unfortunately, you followed it up with selling vitamins… What a shame!
I can't find the information about the other lady in this video. Who is she? "Rachel", that's all there is. Rachel who?
❤😊
Shopping Hoarding Competing Bullying
Who is being interviewed?
Right!? I can't find her name anywhere..
She is Rachel Hart
thank you @@sampathkumar2277
Ladies WILLPOWER is the keyword. I got rid of lots of weight with determination and WILLPOWER. I'm just an average person Who believes in God and self -determination.
😊
Either one has the disease of addiction or not ‼️
Everybody wants you to stop everything or control you. I know I have 12 things. Maybe tell me what those things are instead of lies
lol yep
🕳️ 😊
Big Mac... really? From all things.. a Big Mac
It’s called alcoholism
Mel I’m not trying to be a drag but you just admitted live on air that you had an alcohol problem for many years and honey once you have an alcohol problem, you have an alcohol problem! There is no going back. So if you had a problem with alcohol then I don’t know why you’re sitting here trying to justify to yourself that you don’t have a problem today. Alcoholics never go back to being nonalcoholics. Once an alcoholic always an alcoholic. A pickle can never go back to being a cucumber once it’s a pickle it’s always a pickle Just the fact that you try to contain it tells you right there that you are out of control. Because people that don’t have a drinking problem don’t think about the drink that way. You have to have complete 100% abstinence. That’s the only solution, if you’re looking for one. I know. I just celebrated six years sober yesterday. There is no one drink in the evening for someone like me. God blessings Mel 🙏🏻
Not everyone that has a problem with alcohol is an alcoholic. Like any other addiction the problem is really emotional. So far knock a Holick it would be very difficult to stop. But for someone like me who was using it to numb my emotions once I realized what I was doing I never took a drink again. Which tells me I was not an alcoholic. It might be the same for Mel. Where today I can have a drink if I choose to or I can choose to not have a drink. I’m OK either way because it doesn’t control my life. At this point in my life I maybe have three drinks per year. Because I decided I really just don’t even like the taste of alcohol anymore.
@@helenbozzo6545 i love my glass of wine at night before dinner,,,NOT stoping that,, I work out everyday at the gym and eat very healthy
