How to Survive in Summer (Sushrut Sanhita)
-- Hydration and Electrolyte Balance:
--------> Sugarcane Juice: Add lemon, mint, and a little Sendha namak (rock salt) for electrolyte balance.
--------> Alternative Juices: If sugarcane is unavailable, use any juice with desi khand or mishri and 1/10 portion of milk.
--------> Kairi Panna: Highly recommended.
Nutritious Drinks:
--------> Sattu Drink: Mix 5 portions of sattu, 2.5 portions of ghee, desi khand or mishri, and matka water.
--------> Buffalo Milk: Mix 50% milk with 50% water, adding desi khand or mishri to rejuvenate the body and remove weakness.
Dietary Recommendations:
--------> Light Meals: Consume homemade light meals with little or no spices and ghee.
--------> Rice Preparation: Cook rice with a little extra water.
--------> Seasonal Vegetables and Fruits: Eat bottle gourd, parwal, tomato, grapes, orange, mangoes, watermelon.
--------> Dals: Prefer moong dal and masoor dal with chilka (husk).
--------> Amla Murabba: Include in diet.
Clothing:
--------> Wear Loose, Cotton Clothes: To stay cool.
--------> Cap or Gamcha: Wear a cap or use a gamcha with some water sprinkled on it to stay cool.
Exercise:
--------> Light Exercise: Engage in 1.5 hours of fast walking in the morning or a slow walk in the evening after dinner.
Water Intake:
--------> Daily Water Requirement: Drink 5% of your body weight in water daily. For example, if you weigh 100 kg, drink 5 liters of water.
Indigestion Remedy:
--------> Bel Sharbat or Bel Murabba: Use in case of indigestion.
