Excellent. The Rule-Based has always been a mystery symbology to me (like point displacement!) but am confident now. Thanks 👍

Glad it was helpful! Great to hear you're feeling more confident with this symbology now :-)

Si está buscando volcanes, puede encontrar un conjunto de datos aquí para practicar geodata.lib.berkeley.edu/catalog/GLB_VOLC

No problem. Let me know if you use this at all. I've only scratched the surface in this video.

thanks for the video, this could be very powerful when in use with an atlas. I will do some experimenting.

Nice, experimentation is what it's all about Phil. Let me know what you find and thanks for the support :-)

Thanks a lot for the video. It is very useful and comprehensively explained. I would like to know whether it's generally possible to create rules-based symbology prior to having data in the attribute table of a vector file or categorization only works after having vector files and data associated with it? Prior categorization would be applicable for fieldwork when working with QField after creating basic vector layers in QGIS.

Thanks for the question Aida and for watching 🙂 And yes, if you set styling rules without any data in a layer as data is added it will still follow those rules

Hi, thanks for very useful and interesting video.
I have question, Can we use SLYR plugin for transfer Representation symbology in ArcGIS to QGIS?
Representation in ArcGIS is so complex and define for feature class.

Thanks Saeed, I haven't tested the plugin with representations yet and from the docs it looks like there's basic support north-road.com/slyr/#what_backers_get If you can send me a sample of your data I'd be happy to test it for you.

thanks very useful, but, I also have a different Label Style that I want to associate with each Rule Based symbol. Is this possible?

Hi Tony, that shouldn't be a problem. You'd just need to got to the layer properties > labels > rule-based labelling. This works just the same as your rule-based symbology.
