This is amazing. I played at this ground in the early 90s for Borehamwood FC and literally NOTHING has changed! Maybe a coat of paint here or there, that's it.
100% more videos like these as it shows the ins and outs of non league teams from the struggle to the highs this is what football is about and where it starts and comes from from most regular football players and fans
This type of football brings out the true passion. All the money in top tier football blocks out the true passion of supporting a small football team. You experience the highs and the lows and feel like you belong to your team whereas you can support Real Madrid if you really wantbut just remeber your nothing to them all they care about is the money. Small clubs like Hitchin FC are the proper teams to get the passion and heart out of the fans and players
Went to a Stourbridge vs bromsgrove game last month and there manager is a proper passionate lad. When stour scored he got red carded for throwing a bottle. Proper football
Yes, this is what football used to be about, and can still be. Loved this film and, as a result, I'll certainly check the club out. They have a good podcast too!
Definitely a good cause, support your local teams when you can. It's that dilemma or the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer otherwise. Let your sky subscriptions pay the big boys and we get down the fields on a Sat/Sun morning after a few weeks you'll be well into it!!
wish we had stuff like this in the states. Would love to just go to a local match for cheap when I had nothing else to do, get a little drunk and loud. They don't care for that at highschool games
Yet grounds stay empty and the local community only comes out of the woodwork if there is a big cup game. If people bothered to turn up to games, budgets would be higher so facilities and players would be better. People don't care enough about their small local club.
Can't speak for Hitchin but Bromsgrove averaged 1,050 at home last season and that was a division lower. Realistically people have lives to live, other things to do on a Saturday, limited funds in many cases. Some grounds are way outside town centres and not easy to get to. That's just how it is
fair play to the lads who play their promotion play offs in a cow pasture and have to use their coats as goal posts instead of having the luxury of goal line technology
Ive got a centre half who thinks hes fkin Messi 😂😂

The Hh shut up clown why you hating for not reason
I was at the match most of his defending was messy
every team had that one guy 😂
His Dub accent makes it 👌🏻
Honestly small clubs like this is what make football brilliant. This is what real football is about
Hitchin is an amazing club , that game had an amazing atmosphere for this level of football 🙌🙌 thanks
Not buying players is so fun 👌
Proper football. 👏👏👏
I need more documentaries about non league football like this, gives you a real sense of how much football means to England. It’s sick
Don'tmakemesadboii Plz sir yesssss
I agree more interested on the inner workings of non-league
“Managers been banned for 3 games how have the two games been?”
Assistant smirks cheekily “where do I start? We’ve scored 13”
😂
are we all gonna ignore that freekick tho?!😱
Ryan from Hitchin is the bookies favourite to take over as manager
I’m panicking now
No doubt he’ll bring some youth in
Kevin Phillips is from Hitchin, one of the most underrated strikers of the early 00’s, still the only Englishman to ever win the European golden shoe.
ALL FACTS 💯💯👌
harry kane won it
luke playsFUT must have won it on your football manager
luke playsFUT golden boot and golden shoes are different things bro
Yeetwch y Baban one not for league top scorer and one for scorer in Europe
NEED MORE OF THESE
Defo
100% !!
agree interesting seeing differences from non league and premier league/championship
5:25 Hitchin Assistant: "Belly, you're on pens"
Hitchin player: "Dunno, why."
Hitchin players all laugh.
He then goes on to sky the penalty.
This is amazing. I played at this ground in the early 90s for Borehamwood FC and literally NOTHING has changed! Maybe a coat of paint here or there, that's it.
Who else is from Hitchin confused why this is on sky sports?
From Letchworth and equally confused
Offset’s face It was non league day so they picked a random non league team and you guys got lucky
👋
They came to film the game
Hitchin Town FC omg 😀😂😂😂
5:15 is literally marcelo bielsa in a wig. spying again he loves it.
True heritage of real football. Purity and grass roots. Love clubs like this. Darwen FC are another. Much respect for these forgotten pillars.
Die hard fans and hard grafting..... that’s the game about and pipeline of the future. Well documented and thanks to sky for doing this project.
idk why but when i see clubs like this, i wanna help them like do maintenance on their stadium but it is what it is
Same, like, it looks like with even a day of time, this work could get done. A lot of the jobs seem simple, just that nobody has had the time to do em
Hi
Evan Hiltz im from hitchin and now they have raised 50,000 pounds for maintenance so there replacing the shed and other stuff
There is more passion on the bench's than anything in the prem league
True
I see where your coming from but its obviously not as passionate as the prem but it's still really passionate
*man city
@@matthew9739 what? depends on the team really.
Too many bleep for a non English to understand the conversation 😂
That free kick was🔥
So was the celebration
that kid had some serious free kick on him, that had whip dip and pace...mind blown🤯
HAVE TO DO MORE OF THESE. BRILLIANT

Love the hairdryer treatment. Grew up on it. Motivates me, and I never take it personally.

Really good video, well though out and perfect execution. Thoroughly enjoyed, keep it up.
Great video Sky Sports getting at least 1 extra person going to their local club because of this video is a success.
Ahhhhh that penalty just smashed my car window
Great to have you guys here hopefully we’ll see you again!
I played against hitchin U13s in division 6 mid herts league last season 😂
This is like a BBC2 mockumentary
More of this, please.
we need a season long series dedicated to teams from these sort of leagues. that gives an in depth look at a different team every week like this.
Great video,real football,well done lads👍👍
Being a football player really tests your mentality
Yes, this is what football used to be about, and can still be. Loved this film and, as a result, I'll certainly check the club out. They have a good podcast too!
Great vid.......hats off to all the volunteers
This is how many times they censored words out

This is surprisingly the most entertaining thing on sky sports RUclips
8:22 John Stones
This is class from Banbury fan! Fair play Hitchin town 👍
I wish my USA was like this
This was a good watch, go Hitchin now and then to watch it’s a proper club with proper people!
More investment needs to be put into non league clubs and it will only make better players coming out
Exactly look at vardy he came from non league
Whoever reads this I hope your having a good day✊

Great video , love it 👍
8:08 my manager when I make a bad pass
Well played Webby, played with him before - class act. 👍🏼
This is incredible stuff
wish we had stuff like this in the states. Would love to just go to a local match for cheap when I had nothing else to do, get a little drunk and loud. They don't care for that at highschool games
gives you perspective after watching the premier league behind the scene
Went there with Fulham in a friendly about 28 years ago .
Sky should be doing more of this
pls. make more video like this. i really love it :)
3:33 This dude on the sly documenting his claim to fame...Mum i made it on TV.
Need more of this @sky sports
What a free kick 👍👌🏻 great strike
That free kick
Clubs like Hitchin Town FC is what football is all about!
Fascinating.
Head up. Chest out.
🇨🇦
5:12 *Let me just remind you this exists*
This is a big magnifying glass in the world of football, Hitchin Town's stadium couldn't even pass for Alexis Sanchez's dog sanctuary...
5:21 Ben Walster 😂😂😂 might have been one of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen play . He was absolutely appalling for Chesham when he played for us
And a shite penalty taker as well apparently 😂😂

Why is my local team on Sky Sports 😂
why do you support united if you're from hitchin
Is no one gonna talk about that free kick goal and celebration
This looks sooo depressing
If I ever win the lottery I’ll pump a bit into my local team Mickleover Sport.
Yeah sounds about right!

Kinell shaq mcdonald, ex posh, funny to see where they end up
Half the video is one great beep .
I want to see more stuff like this. What football is really about
They're not the second oldest club, that honour falls to Hallam FC, founded 1860
Sometimes the passion and excitement of supporting a lower league team can be better than a higher league one
I got a centre half who thinks he's messi 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The NON league is the best because it bring the community together
Why is the manager banned but still there basically on the touch line anyway 🤣
the quality & style of play is QUITE fkin good a lot better than watching Huddlesfield FC ...........
I only watch non league football nowadays....I’d love sky follow a non league team for a season...just to show how great it is and the struggles
Looks like something from 2005 2009 with them cameras
fair play to the lads who play their promotion play offs in a cow pasture and have to use their coats as goal posts instead of having the luxury of goal line technology
We in good form now😂💚💛
