It's just for us out west, Banjo-Kazooie holds more of a place in people's hearts than Dragon Quest truly did, even back when we were in the NES era.

@@Magnet_Chaos Hey, I'm not disrespecting it! Erdrick's got some nice shit himself, and if we get more Square Enix tracks than what they did for Final Fantasy VII, it's already a positive. It's just for us out west, Banjo-Kazooie holds more of a place in people's hearts than Dragon Quest truly did, even back when we were in the NES era.
Believe me I know. Banjo-Tooie was my favorite 64 game back in the day. But most of the reactions seem to dismiss Dragon Quest as something unimportant. And it is getting tiresome.
@@Magnet_Chaos It's because it's mediocre at best. In a world where we have games like FFVII, FFIX, Grandia II, and Chrono Trigger, the Dragon Quest series is just generic crap with no personality or charm.

The charm and main draw of Dragon Quest is the simplicity, traditionalism, and childish vibe. Yeah it is a tad generic but that's the damn point.
Dragon Quest is not just cookie cutter JRPG. It is the cookie cutter that every other JRPG uses to make cookies.

@@tjlnintendo It looks like he plays exactly like Link but with different skins...don't get me wrong, it's cool DQ gets in on Smash, but 3/4 of all the sword characters play very similarly and are similarly annoying to play against, so being meh about it should be expected.

Yeah I understand the whole "this game is a huge timesink so I don't want to just stream 100 hours of this" mentality but I honestly think at the very least he should try Dragon Quest 8. Something tells me he'd enjoy that one out of the other entries in the series if he wanted to at least play one DQ game in his "annoying game requests I'm going to have to eventually do one day" quota.
NesstheEchidna yeah totally!! That was my first DQ and I think it’s definitely a good intro to the series. That one will capture your heart and then playing the rest will prolong the enjoyment!
