I think it was just stigmatized due to its playerbase being made up of 5 year olds. Now that the playerbase is older and the “cringy” game is now Fortnite, this has brought a Renaissance on Minecraft
The Delusional Nimbus all of that, plus the fact that Minecraft is a revolutionary game that turned heads by introducing a new genre.
Fortnite, while it's a fun game and all, has not really introduced anything new to the table an instead leeched of another genre.
Surprisingly, Minecraft's Cringe culture mainly grew from animations and youtube personalities rather than originating anywhere from the game itself.
It seems that most people whenever they talk about Minecraft cringe, they talk about what you commonly see on youtube's side (RUclipsrs, Animations, Trolling, etc.).
Fortnite Cringe Culture seems to stem from the fact that it leaks out into the real world. Kids calling old dances Fortnite dances and all that shit. Meme culture grew strong in Fortnite with everyone on the planet getting on this craze like news reporters, Singers, TV show hosts, and more. The fascination with Fortnite turned into cringe when it hit mainstream with everyone talking about it, but also got struck with cringe due to how annoying and repetitive it became after the first few months.
But then someone made creeper porn, and things just went downhill from there.

i love this stream because vinny barely knows what an enderman is yet the chat is tryin to teach him advanced strats like pressing f3 to check his coordinates
it really smacks of some kind of feral man, living in the middle of a volcano because lava is neat, being taught how to stay alive and advance by some aliens who became way too invested in his survival

I think the highlights of this stream were Ender Friend & Vinny ransacking a village for his own personal gain while also killing a blacksmith

I used to make underwater glass houses with surface tunnels, airlocks, and surface exposed roofs had lava pools that ran down into hollow glass pillars.

I don't know if this is a hot take but I think this series of streams was one of the best Vinny ever did. I've come back to marathon them at least once a year.
This was so much of a fun series of streams to watch for me personally that it even convinced me to buy Minecraft to try it for myself. After almost 3 years, I've got around 400 hours in the game, and I owe it all to Vinny.

Or an auto scrolling stage that scrolls down, so you have to mine blocks before you get crushed by the auto scroll, there could also be a few caves with hazards and blast zones, it would scroll pretty slow though, to fit better with the peaceful tenseness of Minecraft

1:55:02 gave me a heart attack, because I have only now discovered this series (in 2023)
I will also say, this stream both feels like found footage horror without the horror, and extremely chill compared to most other content on RUclips; safe to say I'll be watching more.
I'm 7 months late to the party here but I was around for this back in 2019, and 4 years later this set of Minecraft streams ("Season 1") still holds up well despite the many game changes since then.
