15 years ago: Man we just had a commercial break I'm sick of these
Now: Alright let's watch this jabroni watch 2 hours of commercials
We did not realise how fun and enjoyable commercials in those days where compared to how boring they would become in the future.
@@CyberLance26 If you're talking about video game commercials, yes. But other commercials now really used their budget to be entertaining.
•Vï •Mo• Or atleast try
In this case the commercials aren't interrupting anything, they're the main feature.
@@CyberLance26 i think the main "problem" with any modern commercial is you see it all the time and it carries all current production value as all other media around it, so it doesn't stand out. When you watch an older commercial in your free time, the era stands out more and you're not watching it 50 times over. at least that's why i think i like them.
There are some funny/good new commercials too but its easier for me to binge the old stuff

The Chrono Trigger ad is apparently the actual US commercial, btw.
28:22 Classic and obligatory 90s commercial
1:16:50 *It's hip*
1:46:27
- "Hey are you taking a dump?"
- "Not a chance. :)"
3:48 "Pray for Banjo, at E3 2019."

-A horrific amalgam of three innocent children capture and melt the face of another one whilst a girl vomits at the reality she finds herself in.
Vinny: Lol, fake ad xdxdxdxd
-About 2 seconds of an actual centipede
Vinny: *oH fUCk tHaT*
Never change Vinny.
The true horror is real life
Yeah, but did the child mutant have hundreds of legs?
Checkmate. You're clearly not a true gamer.
Everyone in existence has seen the Liquid Slam commercial, it's hardly startling.
It's worse when you don't expect it
If he hadn't already seen that video he probably would've reacted more than he did to the Jam Sessions one.
1:16:50 Guy offers coffee, but ends up giving Vine PTSD instead
38:02 I CANNOT believe he hasn’t seen this one. God damn, it’s a LEGEND.
FACKIN SPONGE CAAYK?
I feel so bad for the mother, i know it's all acting, but in a way, that woman looked genuinely sad.
@@MimoAnimations looked like she was disappointed in herself. Good acting.
PHUKKIN' SPUNJCAIK?!?!
Basically Gordon Ramsey Jr. FUCKIN' SPONGE CAKE?!
34:10 Let me translate: Married monkeys arguing about how the husband won´t give any attention his wife because of Donkey Kong. "I thought I meant the life for you!", she says. And he says "Yeah, Dolores! But I got 346 lives now!". I don´t even know if this is possible in this game. Anyway, afterwards she says "You know... When Timoteo come here, he doesn´t play SNES!". Husband got cheated on, huh?
Anyways, I remember this one when I was 6 or 7, when SNES was released officially in Brazil.
Dolores pls
I think it is, because you can get 99+ lives, it's just that the number count caps at 99.
Dolores.
Dunno how it works, but old commercials make me feel nostalgic for a time i didn't live in.
Same here, but I feel it's sort of justified considering the early 2000s were not very different from the mid-late 90s.
Sneezebiscuits pretty sure Che Guevara said something similar
Old things makes me nostalgic too I dont know why
It’s the low quality visuals and audio that just gives it an old school feel by default. 2000s and early RUclips was like this.
Same w old movies
“Us two Ballzacs are where it’s at!”
*Subtle, reeeeeral subtle*
In the old days the word balls did not make everybody think about testicles like it does now.
There is plenty of stuff that used to be innocent that makes people think about sexual stuff nowadays.
Like if an adult man hanged out with a child in the past it was just seen as cute, fun and charming but now it makes everybody think its creepy and that the man must be a pedophile.
And strong guys with mucles like He-Man for example did not make anybody think about homosexuality like it does now.
@@CyberLance26 are you joking? the 70s and 80s were a fuckfest like no other
CyberLance26 you are absolutely delusional but okay
@@CyberLance26 wtf?! People who think of pedos when a man and a child are hanging out have a sick mind. Everybody doesn't see a man and his son and think "ew that man's a oedo"
@@CyberLance26 and body builders aren't gay. Neither is He Man, that is because of the meme.
1:55:19 this commercial used to play all the time on kids channels in canada, but i forgot about it till i watched this video. when it got to that point, i felt like i was experiencing nostalgia whiplash like no other commercial before. honestly it felt really good to relive some of those memories. so whoever put that commercial in with the rest, thank you.
God, saaaaaame. I'm only watching through these segments now, and I am thoroughly surprised Canadian PSA ads are appearing, LOL.
EDIT: And the Yop commercial, oh god
I saw that Yop commercial so often as a kid that I still have it fully memorized to this day 🙏 Absolute banger
31:14 keeps making me burst into tears. I pissed myself laughing throughout all of this.

@@Nevalster Tenacious D - Beelzeboss
Perfect advertisement!
Glad I'm not the only one, every time I've come back to this stream that part specifically makes me lose my shit
the parody/horror commercial legit freaked me out because i was distracted and never saw it coming. thx for the nightmares binyot
@Conroy Casey ditto.
I wanted to watch some 90's commercials but I got Human Sixbones from Undertale melting a kids face off
1:32:56 vinny barks as a foot appears on-screen for a second
Wasnt vinny
21:23 The voices in this commercial are those of The State, an MTV sketch show. Michael Ian Black, Thomas Lennon, etc. They're all still pretty famous/active.
Vinny yelling back to the mother 3 crab rave is so funny
I DID!!!!
49:40 I can never again look at dynamax w/o THICC jokes (thanks Etika) and “SHAVE OFF MY PUBES” going through my head now. Thanks Vinny.
"Shave off my pubes!"
*Dynamax Raichu*
Also, those singing piranha plants killed me.
Speaking of Pokemon, yeah, that Red and Blue commercial was on all the time.
i desperately need a link to that YTP, please help me out
Lem Sportsinterviews 49:40, 49:58
This makes me want companies to do 90s style commercials nowadays. Hit that nostalgia demographic
Ikr, I hate the 20’s over-cleanliness
virgin modern "aesthetics" vs chad old school maximalism
38:38 that last "FUCK" had so much emotion behind it goddamn
the MOTHER commercial was real cute tho
played the song from an album that was sung by an actual church's choir.
@@mryoshi1221 Wasn't it also based in England or France? Like, the choir is world-famous, such that Itoi wanted to use them as the basis for the Eight Melodies.
Yeah, I love the design for Ninten in the commercial(with the scarf and the 3-color shirt stripes).
26:14 That sound was Scatman John having a stroke.
My guess was that it was supposed to be a Popeye sound-as they deliberately pointed out the spinach-green screen as something trash compared to them (which was definitely full of it, seeing where they are now)-but I doubt it was close enough for anyone younger than a certain age to catch (although, CN could've been airing episodes of that back then, idk).
But yeah, it does sound like Scatman John having a stroke.
Jeebus I laughed like 10 minutes straight.
1:46:26 had me dying for legitimately 10 minutes. That’s too perfect to be made by a bot.
This might have been one of the best segments you've done in years vin
FOCKIN SPONGEKEK
That spongecake advert killed me. I was not expecting that.
It's an ad for guitar hero, not sponge cake.
It's not guitar hero
34:50 Very late comment but I think the other guy (aside from Phil Hartman) is Maurice LaMarche, aka the voice of Brain in Pinky and the Brain (he has other roles of course, I just thought I'd say the most obvious one). On second watch I recognised his voice. Also that ad is amazing, I'm surprised the scream at the end didn't become a meme of some sort.
That not Capri sun commercial has cursed me for life. Thanks vinny. Watching a kid getting his face melted off fucked me

I like how game companies were verbally abusive to their customers in commercials in the 90's. These days they're just actually abusive to us.

This segment really showcased the freakish amount of celebrity trivia Vinny knows
I was on board with that liquid slam commerical until the very end and had no fucking idea it was suppose to be a parody, bravo lmao.
25:46 I think I heard this in Spike Jones' rendition of 'Cocktails for Two'. It's actually three people - one doing the hiccup, one spitting, and one doing some kind of babbling sound.

But its ads we're emotionally invested in
"I'm surprised Zelda sold anything, considering this commercial..."
I would buy every copy if this guy told me what enemies were when they appeared on screen
The chrono trigger commercial mentions both Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy because it was written by Yuji Horii with character designs by Akira Toriyama, both of Dragon Quest fame, and designed by Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of Final Fantasy.
I kind of really fuckin love the idea of Vinny just occasionally doing segments like this riffing and commenting on stuff, though I don’t know what else could be used. But seriously it’s good variety and he’s great at it
On that Chrono Trigger ad, it basically said it's the Dream Project, a team project consisting of creators from both Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.
Foreshadowing of events to come, maybe they *did* have a time machine...
*Dragon Ball
It's referencing Akira Toriyama, the artist behind Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump, doing the artwork for/in the game.
The way they say "Mario from Donkey Kong" always makes me think of the "Featuring Dante from Devil May Cry" meme.
N64 commercials: mildly underrated. People usually go for gen 3, 4, then skip to 6 when discussing the insane or fun commercials, forgetting a chunk of 5 aside from a few more than talked about enough like the Pokemon in the bus, the rumble pak video, Smash bros, maybe Crash being a loud ass...
