Cracked ribs are amazingly painful, it takes a long time for the pain to go away (took e a month) so the fact that within a week he was working at such an active film shows great endurance and inner strength, even if he did complain.

What makes it even better is that apparently Viggo was one of the cast at the time who came onto the project with little or no prior Lord of the Rings knowledge. Then watching these BTS interviews, he shows how much of the universe he learned on his own during production. Enough, even, to make some pretty clever jokes and references!

there is just something about the LOTR cast that is so mesmerizing and they are just so fREAKING funny and you can tell they all really love each other. its so different from the Harry Potter cast who were filming for a longer time than LOTR.
