Thank you for concise no fluff reviews. It is so refreshing! I hate reviews that are 15 to 20 minutes of extraneous unnecessary talking before they get to the meat of what a consumer wants to know. Keep up the good work and thank you!
I have the Hoover. You don't need to disassemble it every time you want to clean the nozzle. I unplug mine turn it on the side in the shower and use the shower to spray inside the nozzle to remove all collected dirt around the circular brush (turning it as needed with my fingers), then I let it dry.
After having had the Bissel turbo clean for a year or two, I am extremely impressed with it. Cleans very well on tough pet urine/gross gross and all else really well. Size is great, easy to clean and refill/empty without a mess. Downsides: -On mine at least, the green twist lock for the telescopic handle does not lock it down so you can pick up the cleaner in the retracted position. Not too big of deal. - Biggest and only other flaw is that if you put more than the allotted cleaning solution and or move the cleaner around too much, the dirty water tank can slosh around or foam up and spit out some bubbles and drops and then you have to wipe up whatever it spurts on. You should be going slow anyway for a good clean, so it does not happen often. While this is annoying in the rare circumstance it happens, it's worth it to keep the cleaner and just modify the exhaust port. I will be hot gluing a pipe or surface near the exhaust so it hits into that and then falls back into the dirty tank. - If you have the money and space, I would recommend going for the proheat version without a doubt though. Seems to clean better from Vacuum wars reviews, doesn't have the exhaust spurting issue, and most of all it has the hose attachment which I would really like for furniture. Hope this helps someone!
I've owned a Bissell and I just purchased the Hoover. I have 30 year old carpet. The Hoover out-did the Bissell by leaps and bounds because, when I was finished, my carpet was dry and cleaner than I've ever been able to get it with any other carpet cleaner, and I've owned five. The Hoover did more cleaning and sucking up the dirt in my carpet than any carpet cleaner I have ever used. Five stars and thumbs up for the Hoover if you want your carpet really clean and DRY after you've finished cleaning it.
@@Angelcake1371 This one cleaned my 30 year old carpet. There's another one for people in small living areas like apartments that works, too. I love this one and it will never be advertised on TV because one will never need another one. It is a commercial carpet cleaner and better than any I have owned. @@gaylestevenson1877 i have been iffy about the bissell pet one due to some having great reviews and a lot complaining of leakage.... btw does this do a good job of sucking up the water?
@@Angelcake1371 It sucks up water better than any machine I've owned and I've owned several. Also, there's a feature that cuts off the brushes so the machine can just suck and not brush the carpet so the carpet does not get more worn out from going back and forth so much. I highly recommend this product for old carpet. I think, because it's a commercial carpet cleaner, it is made better and has better features than a "home" machine.
I have the Hoover and love it. Wish it were bigger. I cleaned my whole house with mine, but the trick is to clean two rooms at a time with one tank (spray the cleaner first pass, scrub and suck up the cleaner/water second pass). And use diagonal strokes for large areas. But this thing is so lightweight, cleaning with it is a cinch!
Thanks for all the good info! A suggestion - in the future, try mustard as one of your stains. An old friend is an interior designer and she tells me that mustard is the single worst stain to remove from carpet or upholstery.
This is so funny ! My husband and I are looking to buy one of these and we narrowed it down to these two and found your video and we couldn’t believe it ! Your a gem !
Great video! Thanks! I just purchased the Hoover. Really like it and works amazing. I have 2 dogs a Chihuahua and a Dachshund and the one sometimes has accidents on the carpet and my large hoover scrubber was 7 years old and used weekly plus I did my whole place of work twice, the lady’s house I sat for several times, relatives homes and more and still worked but was getting kinda shabby looking. So I wanted sumin new and since my Hoover was so good I decided to go with another Hoover but wanted a lighter easier to use one and not have to carry one so heavy up and down my steps. I use mine for my whole house bu each of my rooms are hard wood with large area rugs (5x7 to 12x14) and I can do 2 rooms with this for a quickie but a deep clean its 1 fill and empty per room wish is fine with me I love how easy it is to use and carry. I have used my bathtub sprayer to clean out inside my bristles and sucker bar and am careful and it gets it spotless. Bissell seems very nice too, this was an awesome video thank you!
Walmart has hoover on sale for 88 bucks- plus it had way better reviews..AND.. it looks like the Hoover could get under stuff with the flat frontal footprint, where the bissell is bulky all the way to the front edge.. he said the bissell won mainly cause it was easier to maintain. I wanted one for the quality of cleaning my rugs and carpets. So I went with the Hoover!
I had the Hoover one but returned since all I have is area thin area rugs and got the Bissell crosswave since it can do my rugs and floors too. The Hoover I find it easy to clean just take it outside and spray the brush roll with a garden hose and it’s clean.

Cleaning the brush is way too hard when it needs to be done every other time I use it. I bought one cleaner but have ended up being on my third one now due to broken parts/returns. Brush =$34 and I’m not finding the nozzle anywhere but eBay $25-$35 to replace. Ever since DirtDevil bought Hoover, the quality has gone down. Some thoughts: you really need to use the exact same solution in BOTH machines to get a fair result. Otherwise it’s biased towards the cleaning solution and not the actual machines... Also test vacuum suction power which is important for water extraction in your carpets or when you are using the attachments. Then measure the amount of water they are able to extract vs what they put down. Example: put 2 cups of water on a carpet and suck it up and then measure how much of that water put down was able to be extracted. Another suggestion is to take in customer feedback. If one machine gets poorer reviews and people report failing units, then I think that’s something to consider. I wouldn’t personally recommend a machine that seems to have a lot issues over a machine that gets favorable reviews but doesn’t clean quite as well.
